Becoming Their Guiding Spirit

# Chapter 58: Lucas Reeve! You scumbag!! Lucas Reeve glanced down at Jessica, whose expression was frozen from the excessive shock.

It’s over!

I’ve become a stand-in.

As a spectator, Lucas Reeve was trying his best not to laugh. Luckily, he wasn’t in Franka’s dream, so he didn’t have to watch his own drama.

Just as the dream-Jessica was leaving and Lucas Reeve was preparing to wake Franka up, Liskarm, Franka’s personal bodyguard, came in again.

”Young Lady, that person is here again...”

”He’s here again? Let him in.”

A flash of annoyance crossed Franka’s face when this person was mentioned.

As the spectating duo, Lucas Reeve and Jessica didn’t come out from behind the curtain. Instead, they continued to huddle behind it, cautiously enjoying the show. Opportunities like this were rare, and if they missed out now, they might regret it later.

”Mr. Reeve, do you know who it is?”

Jessica asked in a small voice.

”I don’t know.”

After Liskarm left, Franka’s expression in the study was clearly a bit strange. She got up and stood in front of a mirror on the side of the study, constantly managing her emotions, seemingly trying to adjust to the best mood to face the person who was about to enter.

As for why there was a full-length mirror in the study....

Lucas Reeve and Jessica didn’t quite understand either.

Finally.

The sound of light footsteps came from outside.

Franka quickly returned from the mirror to the sofa she was sitting on before. She picked up a wine glass filled with expensive red wine, leaned back slightly, crossed her legs, and the hem of her silk house dress pulled back a little, revealing a portion of her smooth, jade-like thigh and calf.

No black stockings, no soul...

Bang...

The door was pushed open.

A man walked in from outside.

Lucas Reeve: ”????”

Jessica: ”Huh?!!!”

After a few seconds of stunned silence, Lucas Reeve slowly let out a heartfelt sigh.

”Why do I have a part in this again!!!”

Even Jessica couldn’t quite understand.

Why would Lucas Reeve appear in her Senior Franka’s dream?

Although she was confused.

But being able to see Lucas Reeve’s drama, Jessica was suddenly happy. She slowly peeked half of her head out from the edge of the curtain.

Cat-head observes secretly.

The Lucas Reeve in Franka’s dream looked no different from the real one, except he had a physical body instead of being a soul, and... how to put it....

He had the look of a male lead from a Mary Sue novel for a female audience.

His face was handsome, and the contours were Lucas Reeve’s, but the chin of this dream Lucas was sharper, giving him a sort of stylized, snake-spirit-like face from a comic.

His eyes were also larger, like an anime character’s, and there seemed to be stars twinkling in his pupils. When he entered, Jessica could even vaguely feel... that Lucas Reeve was glowing.

”Is this... Mr. Reeve?”

Jessica was somewhat dumbfounded.

This is the Mr. Reeve in Franka’s dream? How has his art style changed so drastically?

”What are you doing here?!”

Franka, with her legs crossed, exuded a queenly aura in an instant. In the eyes of the dream Lucas Reeve, Franka was incredibly noble, so much so that he felt an urge to worship her. She spoke ill-naturedly without giving him any face, as if there was some past grievance between them.

”Franka! I was wrong! It was all my fault before!! Can we get back together!!!”

In the dream, Lucas Reeve’s tone was incredibly humble, even regretful.

Behind the curtain.

Lucas Reeve: ”???”

Jessica: ”???”

Get... get... get back together!!!

Jessica’s eyes widened, and she quickly covered her mouth with her left hand to stop herself from screaming. Her face was burning hot, and her head seemed to have turned into a steam engine again, puffing white smoke. Her eyes swirled, and she felt dizzy.

”Get back together! Get back together!!”

”What on earth happened between Mr. Reeve and Senior Franka in the past?!!!”

”...”

Lucas Reeve, beside her, was a bit speechless. He gently tapped Jessica on the forehead, her mind in chaos from Franka’s words.

”This is Franka’s own dream. It has nothing to do with me.”

In the study.

Faced with Lucas Reeve’s sincere apology, Franka’s heart wavered for a moment. However, that feeling quickly turned to ice.

”Don’t even think about it, Lucas Reeve! I, Franka, was blind to have chosen you!”

”Back when we were partners at Blacksteel Worldwide, you shamelessly pursued me, and I agreed. I even saved your life during a human bomb crisis! You would have been dead without me! And what happened in the end! You abandoned me and ran off with some old woman who had a bit of money. What? Couldn’t handle the old woman’s steel wool, or did you find out my real identity as the heiress of Raythean Industries and now you regret it? You think that old woman with a bit of money is a pauper, so you shamelessly came crawling back to get back together with me?”

Lucas Reeve took a deep breath.

He didn’t understand why he was always a simp in their dreams.

He was like that in Jessica’s dream, and in Franka’s dream, he was a scumbag.

He was clearly such an upright person....

Sigh...

Life is bitter.

And this plot was a bit too cliché.

He went looking for a sugar mommy?

Ridiculous...

For some reason, Jessica let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately...

When Lucas Reeve asked, Jessica slowly said.

”I know this plot. It’s from a novel Senior Franka was really into a while ago. It’s about a male and female lead who worked together, and the female lead even saved the male lead’s life and spent all her money on him. But the male lead looked down on her for being poor and left her for another 50-year-old rich woman, cruelly abandoning her. But then there was a twist. The female lead turned out to be the long-lost daughter of the richest man. After she reunited with her family, the male lead shamelessly came back begging to get back together.”

Phew~

Luckily it was just a novel plot. It seems Mr. Reeve and Senior Franka don’t have much of a relationship.

Just as Jessica was breathing a sigh of relief.

She suddenly remembered a serious problem.

”Wait!!!”

”Why was it Mr. Reeve who was cast in this role!!!”

The current plot was just too cliché.

Lucas Reeve really couldn’t watch anymore. Here in Franka’s dream, his role was even more ridiculous than in Jessica’s...

In Jessica’s dream, he was at least just an unsuccessful live-in son-in-law, who could still have a ’don’t bully the poor young man’ moment and maybe smirk wryly a bit.

But here with Franka, he was straight-up a scumbag...

Not wanting to watch anymore, Lucas Reeve’s figure moved like a ghost, instantly appearing behind Franka.

Then, his finger gently tapped the back of her head. With the input of spiritual power, the surrounding scenery gradually disintegrated like a dream bubble.

A moment later.

A hint of clarity flashed in Franka’s slightly dazed eyes.

”Lucas? Jessica?”
