After the Breakup, Indulgence Returned to Cash, and I Topped the Rich List

37: Chapter 37 Business is tough!Seeing the misunderstanding being pointed out by Shen Zhou in a single sentence, Mu Shanshan was also a bit flustered.

She tucked a slightly messy strand of hair on her forehead and stood there, biting her lip in embarrassment.

”Hey, what are you thinking? When did I ever say I was disappointed!”

”I’m actually overjoyed!”

”Actually, I’m just like you; I didn’t remember the name of my blind date either.”

”I’d guess that we both probably have mothers who are eager to urge us to get married! Don’t you think I’m right?”

Once someone broke the awkward silence, the rest of the conversation became easier.

The two seemed to share a tacit understanding, and neither mentioned their crushes again.

They simply followed the conversation to talk about their respective work and lives.

As they chatted, Shen Zhou noticed that the smile had faded from Mu Shanshan’s face. ”By the way, I haven’t asked you yet, why did you choose to have this blind date here!”

”Is it close to where you work?”

After chatting for a while, Shen Zhou learned that Mu Shanshan actually worked at a bank.

Moreover, the bank Mu Shanshan worked at was Longfa Bank, a leader among banks in the Dragon Kingdom.

Although Longfa Bank was not as powerful as the original five major state-owned banks—ICBC, ABC, BOC, CCB, and BoCom—

it was said that in recent years, Longfa Bank’s growth momentum had been very strong. Especially in economically developed regions, because it caught the wave of internet startups and operated many businesses related to mobile internet, Longfa Bank was well on its way to catching up with the five major banks.

However, unlike the thriving development prospects of Longfa Bank,

Mu Shanshan’s job seemed somewhat difficult.

She was mainly responsible for deposit solicitation and credit business.

Simply put, it was the business of deposits and loans.

As everyone knows, in a place like Shanghai, generally speaking, deposit and loan business should actually be the most developed.

However, the development of this business actually depends on the situation.

And this situation actually depends on the personal connections and background of the bank staff member.

In fact, anyone who has truly worked in the banking system should know.

The bank’s deposit and loan business is not a job position that relies entirely on personal effort.

In most banks, the staff in these positions are actually more often people with certain connections or resources.

Or, they are people with special internal channels or those who are part of the bank’s internal circle.

Because only such people can rely on their own relationships and connections to solicit more depositors for the bank and issue more loans for the bank.

Never think that issuing bank loans is a simple matter; in reality, it is very difficult!

Especially for large banks that keep tight thresholds for loan compliance and recovery.

For an ordinary university graduate, wanting to do well in the deposit and loan business can be summed up in one word: hard!

Just for loans alone, the various conditions for audit and approval almost block the path for most small and medium-sized enterprises.

Therefore, in normal circumstances, large banks only lend to powerful large enterprises or strong clients with substantial collateral.

And such clients were too scarce for Mu Shanshan, who had just graduated not long ago.

”It’s cheaper here!”

”I don’t want to rip people off under the guise of a blind date.”

”Besides, many of my potential clients are in the office building across the street. I originally planned to visit them after finishing this blind date.”

Mu Shanshan answered truthfully.

”Your bank staff still have to visit clients?”

Shen Zhou asked curiously.

”What did you think? I’m not like others who can just have their family pull some strings and bring in tens of millions in deposits.”

”And I don’t have relatives running factories who can easily take out millions in loans.”

”If I don’t screen clients one by one, what else can I do?”

”I have a loan quota of 60 million, and it’s almost the end of the year, but I’ve only completed less than a third.”

”Don’t you think I should be anxious!”

Facing Shen Zhou’s curiosity, Mu Shanshan pouted, feeling somewhat helpless.

”I really didn’t expect there to be so many ins and outs to your bank work; getting a loan is such a hassle!”

”Is your performance pressure really that high?”

Shen Zhou shrugged, lost in thought.

”Of course, my 60 million loan quota is all for corporate loans.”

”To put it plainly, it’s only for corporate loans, not for private individuals or self-employed businesses.”

”Large enterprises nowadays usually have their own fixed channels for financing; it’s never my turn to negotiate.”

”As for those small enterprises, they often can’t get loans approved by headquarters because they don’t meet various conditions.”

”So, that’s the situation I’m in!”

”Sigh, why am I telling you all this...”

Whenever her business was mentioned, Mu Shanshan inevitably felt a headache coming on.

It was true; the director of the branch’s credit department had just talked to her two days ago.

Saying that her loan performance was severely dragging down the team, and they might have to consider moving her to a more basic position.

In fact, Mu Shanshan was very clear about the meaning behind the director’s words.

It was said that the director had a nephew who had also just graduated this year.

Because he had been studying for the civil service exam, his family hadn’t arranged a job for him before.
