I am God LSLCCF

Chapter 230: Who Sits on the Divine Throne?

The Blood Progenitor, carrying the first Life Ability Trilobite person, walked across the land, arriving at the villages and cities of the snake people.

She observed the world of the snake people, examining this new era’s intelligent species, gathering information about them.

She carefully examined these snake people, comparing them to the Trilobite people and noting their differences in appearance, living habits, and cultural beliefs.

She planned to consider everything before deciding how to proceed.

Outside the city, she saw vast fields.

The ground was filled with a plant the snake people called Curled Ball Fern, most of which had already matured, growing delicious spherical fruits.

Around the fields were snake people villages. They used their agile upper bodies to cut down trees and their strong tails to pull them down.

Then they brought the wood back to build their own homes.

Their dwellings were simple structures with only roofs and bamboo walls, providing basic shelter from the rain.

The houses were tall, usually accommodating ten to twenty snake people coiled together to rest and work, forming a large family.
The snake people obtained their main food through farming and used fire to cook their food.

They also built enclosures with wood to raise a two-toothed beast species as their primary source of meat.

In their leisure time, they occasionally fished and hunted.

“They obtain stable food through farming, with fishing and hunting as supplementary methods.”

The Blood Progenitor examined all this, greatly surprised.

She suddenly uttered a sentence she had never heard before.

“Only when a group obtains stable food can they develop.”

“We gained miraculous power, and from then on, we never lacked food, developing a brilliant and dazzling civilization.”

The Trilobite people once used the power of rituals to cultivate and produce food paste, ultimately embarking on the path of civilization’s rise.

From that moment on, they came to possess the entire world, climbing to heights they had never before imagined.

But the Blood Progenitor couldn’t recall the methods and power of that ritual; she only saw this scene and immediately had this thought surface in her mind.

Due to the destruction of the Eye of True Knowledge, she had lost too much.

The Blood Progenitor listened from afar as the snake people conversed. She noticed that most snake people only understood simple language and couldn’t write.

Among this, the Blood Progenitor had already discovered some strange things.

Even though these snake people spoke a completely different language from the Trilobite people, there were some syllables she could vaguely understand, extremely similar to the Trilobite language.

“Why is this?”

“Is there an inevitable convergence in language for all civilizations?”

The Blood Progenitor arrived at the City of Fire Protection.

The appearance of the City of Fire Protection was somewhat similar to the City of Life. It was tall and massive, with patterns on the gates and doorways revealing a sense of religious mystery.

The dark city walls had a dimness reminiscent of the seabed, and the humid climate gave them a perpetual wet, slippery sheen.

The city walls served a purpose, not merely imitating the city of the gods.

They could block the impact of small monsters and defend against wars from herding tribes and within the city-state.

The Blood Progenitor’s form twisted in the blood-red light, finally transforming into the appearance of a snake person.

Shape-shifting was the most basic skill of a Life Ability user.

She thus entered the city, blending in with the crowd of snake people.

The world inside the City of Fire Protection was completely different from the outside world. This was the most prosperous and wealthy place of the entire snake people race, where all wisdom, wealth, and power converged.

Although the southern snake people group already had five or six cities, each with its own ruler and numerous derived villages and towns, the southern snake people group was still mainly centered around the City of Fire Protection.

Here, they had already formed the embryonic form of a city-state.

They had developed a city-state system centered on the city, with their own nobility and management system, maintaining long-term barter trade among themselves.

The city lord of the City of Fire Protection, the Fire Guardian, nominally had the right to dispatch troops from other cities. Even some herding snake people tribes to the west would obey the Fire Guardian’s orders, as they needed to obtain various resources from the City of Fire Protection through trade.

The Blood Progenitor came near the altar, where she saw the third-rank fire demon inherited from the first generation Fire Guardian, Alcina, and also noticed several crude workshops not far from the altar.

“What are they doing?”

A group of snake people were working in these mostly open-air, crude workshops. They neatly arranged the produced charcoal and used furnaces to smelt minerals.

They used clay to cast molds and cores, carving patterns and text on the molds.

Then they poured the melted liquid metal in, using this method to smelt and cast bronze ware.

The Blood Progenitor looked to another side, where snake people were forging weapons using a different method.

Although these weapons were currently only presented to the Fire Guardian, arming his guards, and most of the objects were still sacrificial vessels for worshipping the gods, not yet widespread,

This already proved that they were transitioning from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age.

If the previous farming technology merely surprised the Blood Progenitor, this could be called shocking.

She vaguely remembered that even the Trilobite people needed to rely on abilities and miraculous power to cast metal objects, although the metal objects they produced were more powerful.

Now these ordinary snake people in the primitive period could directly smelt and create metal objects without relying on any great power.

No miraculous power, no need to use abilities.

Was this because the snake people’s wisdom surpassed that of the Trilobite people, or was it due to other issues?

The Blood Progenitor thought for a long time.

Finally, she looked at the piled wood and charcoal, and the roaring furnaces.

In the era of the Trilobite people, that barren and desolate world had nothing, and fire was a rare sight for mortals.

But here, using the power of fire had become easy.

The Blood Progenitor entered another workshop, which was also using the power of fire to refine items, but this place was producing pottery.

Exquisite pottery pieces were produced here, sent to those high and mighty nobles in the City of Fire Protection.

Eating, smelting, pottery making.

All required the power of fire.

Fire was so important to the snake people, no wonder they called their leader the Fire Guardian, and no wonder this city was called the City of Fire Protection.

The Blood Progenitor stayed in the City of Fire Protection for many days. She was truly serious about observing this race called the snake people, and she even completely learned the snake people’s language.

As she had expected, although the snake people’s language was different from that of the Trilobite people, there were many extremely similar aspects.

It was as if they came from the same source.

After the bronze ware was cast, it was refined and presented to the Fire Guardian. A large number of exquisite pottery items for sacrificial use were fired and placed on the altar.

A grand sacrificial ceremony was also unfolding in the city.

The sun set, and night fell.

The Blood Progenitor watched this sacrificial ceremony from the edge of the crowd.

The snake people offered various rare beasts and placed a large number of exquisite creations on the altar.

A great fire blazed, and they danced frenziedly around the bonfire in a sacrificial dance.

The bonfire twisted and swayed, causing the shadows of the crowd to writhe like snakes. The frenzied cries of the snake people involuntarily infected others with this fervor, making them want to join in.

The entire city seemed to be in a state of frenzied revelry, with all snake people dancing and praying to their deity.

The snake people’s leader, the Fire Guardian, stood before the crowd, calling out the name of God in a strange tone.

“Great and supreme Creator!”

“Mother of Life… Shel… ly~”

“Please protect Your servants, and never let them suffer from disaster and pain…”

“I am the descendant of the Snake Mother, we were born from…”

Through this ritual, the Blood Progenitor clearly understood that these snake people believed in a deity called the Mother of Life, Shelly, referring to her as the creator of all living things.

Upon hearing the name Mother of Life Shelly, the Blood Progenitor’s body suddenly trembled.

This name stirred something deep within her memory.

Or rather, the blood flowing through her body remembered this name, involuntarily giving rise to emotions of awe and reverence.

“Mother of Life!”

“Shelly!”

Her mouth involuntarily chanted the name of this supreme deity along with the snake people, and once she started, she couldn’t stop.

She seemed to have transformed into a devout believer, trembling before the majesty of God, not daring to gaze upon His visage, only able to prostrate herself at His feet and pray to Him.

She continued chanting, but the titles in her mouth were completely different from those of the snake people.

“Mother of Life to the left of the divine throne.”

“Controller of the Mother Conch of All Things, supreme Life Sovereign, King of Ruhe Beasts.”

When calling out the name of the primal God, everything before her suddenly turned to darkness.

She suddenly saw the truth of this world.

She saw that the continent beneath her feet was not a continent, but a giant island supported by seven terrifyingly powerful Ruhe beasts, each possessing an unimaginably vast body and the power to destroy everything.

In the darkness, she saw the being at the center of everything.

It was the creator of this land, the source of all life.

A shadow that devoured the world appeared at the edge of the sky, opening countless green eyes scattered across the heavens.

It extended numerous tentacles towards the sky, as if trying to embrace the sun.

Simultaneously, the sound of a horn rang out.

In that sound, one could hear the vigorous vitality of all things growing, and also feel the death at the end of the world.

The Blood Progenitor knew what that sound was, and knew what this being, too great to be touched, truly was.

“Mother Conch of All Things.”

“Shelly, the creator of all living things~”

She finally knew the source of her power and bloodline.

Like these snake people, she too was an extension of the Mother of Life’s power, a creation of life.

Although these snake people were mere mortals, while she had embarked on the path of myth.

But before this great being, power had completely lost its meaning.

They were all merely servants of God.

She found herself believing that the Mother of Life, Shelly, was indeed the creator of all living things in this world. A deity who could command world-devouring beasts to create Ruhe Beast Island, a great being capable of creating various life forms and intelligent species at will.

It seemed reasonable for Her to be the creator of all things in the world.

But the Blood Progenitor also vaguely felt something was amiss, she felt somewhat uncomfortable.

This seemingly reasonable understanding didn’t quite match up with the forgotten memories in her mind.

“It’s reasonable for such a great being, one called the Mother of Life, to be the creator!”

“But why?”

“Why… do I feel that it shouldn’t be this way?”

She suddenly recalled the divine name she had involuntarily chanted, which included an additional title.

Mother of Life to the left of the divine throne.

This title seemed out of place, and she even felt that such a title was unworthy of such an unimaginably powerful deity, a supreme being.

“Something’s not right?”

“Why to the left of the divine throne? And not sitting upon the divine throne?”

She tried to recall everything, but couldn’t resolve the confusion in her heart.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt a sense of terror consuming her.

She had witnessed with her own eyes the sound of the Mother Conch of All Things that could nurture all living beings and end the world, she had seen the shadow of a deity so powerful it was beyond description, the land beneath her feet was merely the external manifestation of the power of a few of its servants.

“If such a great being cannot be on the divine throne, what kind of being could make her willingly stand at the side of the divine throne?”

“If She can only stand to the left of the divine throne, then… the one sitting on the divine throne.”

“Who could it be?”

The Blood Progenitor looked bewildered, the more she thought about it, the more she felt that this world seemed to be held in the palm of an boundless giant hand, and this world shrouded in mist that she couldn’t see clearly was merely a plaything in someone’s palm.

She had lost too much information and memory, and she was eager to retrieve them.

She looked towards the distant City of Life.

Just now, when she was chanting the name of the Mother of Life, she felt the aura of the Mother of Life there.

At the same time, there was a being close to mythical status coiled on the mountain peak, which should be the progenitor in the snake people’s mythology.

Snake Mother Sermos.

“I should go there.”

The Blood Progenitor prepared to leave this place and go to the City of Life.

Perhaps there, she would get some answers—

At the foot of the mountain, several herding tribes could be seen in the distance, driving toothed beasts towards far-off lands. A small river meandered past the mountain’s base.

A woman wearing a robe came from afar, her feet bare as she walked across the ground.

Despite her long journey, her robe remained immaculate, without a speck of dirt. Even her feet, as they touched the ground, gathered not a single grain of sand.

The Blood Progenitor looked at this mountain that soared into the clouds like a pen holder, with sheer cliffs on all four sides.

Such a mountain was indeed not one that mortals could climb, let alone the legendary City of Life at the very top where Snake Mother Sermos had transformed into a terrifying serpent monster.

The Blood Progenitor traversed through dense jungle, pushing aside leaves and ferns blocking her path, and entered the ruins of the old city established by Pence, the grandson of Snake Mother Sermos.

She also saw the murals in the cave, reading the passages praising the Snake Mother and the deity.

She looked at the story in the murals of the Snake Mother undergoing four trials, seeing how the snake people received blessings from the deity.

She also learned of Snake Mother Sermos’s final fate.

Punished by God for killing the winged people, she became a serpent monster in the City of Life.

The Blood Progenitor felt no sympathy for Snake Mother Sermos’s fate; what interested her were the winged people.

“Winged people.”

“The power to create intelligent species at will, is this the Creator of Life?”

Looking at the race flying in the sky with spread wings in the mural, she felt somewhat regretful.

“A race gifted with the ability to fly, vanishing just as they were born.”

“What a pity.”

With these words, the Blood Progenitor transformed into a streak of blood-red light. She shot upwards, spiraling around the mountain as she ascended.

Finally, she penetrated through the cloud layer and arrived at the City of Life.

She saw this majestic and grand city, saw the magnificent and imposing Temple of Life.

She also saw the Tower of Heaven that the snake people had built for the Mother of Life.

She saw the giant serpent monster coiled in the city, who unleashed a terrifying power and aura as it gazed towards the sky, watching the Blood Progenitor.

Its eyes were filled only with madness, rejecting all ordinary life that entered this place.

“Hiss!”

The serpent monster Sermos let out a hiss, instantly dispersing and tearing apart the clouds in the sky, a terrifying light penetrating through the sea of clouds and piercing the heavens.

Under her writhing body, this majestic city seemed to have become much smaller.

The Blood Progenitor deflected the petrifying power, boldly releasing her own power as she met the gaze of the serpent monster Sermos.

She seemed to see something in the monster’s eyes.

The serpent monster also sensed the Blood Progenitor’s aura.

They possessed the same power, originating from the same supreme deity.

“Hiss!”

“God… hiss… servant.”

The serpent monster Sermos let out a hissing cry. She suddenly ceased her hostility towards the Blood Progenitor, only coiling around the Temple of Life.

Her fierce head lowered, no longer focusing on the Blood Progenitor.

Recognizing a fellow servant of God, she permitted the Blood Progenitor to enter the city to make offerings and pray to the deity.

The Blood Progenitor also sensed that things were different from the story about the Snake Mother she had seen in the cave at the foot of the mountain. Although this serpent monster had been consumed by the power of Life Ability, her consciousness submerged in its chaos and madness,

She clearly perceived a powerful force acting upon the serpent monster Sermos, soothing the conflict between the Wisdom and Life Abilities within her.

Allowing her to truly become a being of Life Ability.

When that day came, it would be the moment she regained her will and wisdom.

As an ability user who had embarked on the mythical path of Life Ability, there were few in this world who understood its power better than her.

The Blood Progenitor slowly descended into the City of Life, approaching the serpent monster.

She was curious about the story of the Mother of Life and Sermos, as it seemed this supreme deity hadn’t truly abandoned Sermos.

“So, the Sovereign of Life ultimately forgave Snake Mother Sermos.”

The Blood Progenitor ascended the steps of the Temple of Life. Before entering the temple, she saw numerous murals on the outer corridors and pillars, all recording accounts of the Mother of Life, Shelly.

Few had set foot here besides Snake Mother Sermos, so even the snake people knew little about what was carved here.

The Blood Progenitor was one of the few who saw these murals.

Finally, she stopped in front of one particular mural.

Her pupils flickered and trembled, for this mural was related to the Trilobite people.

The content of the mural was:

The snake people had excavated divine artifacts left behind by the Trilobite people, believing them to be items lost by God, and presented them to the Mother of Life.

The Mother of Life told her servant Sermos that these were relics from the previous era.

In a time long ago, there was once a glorious civilization, and all the things they left behind were buried on this island.

Sermos asked the Sovereign on the divine throne: “What about that once great race and civilization?”

“Where are they now?”

God told Sermos: “Extinct.”

Sermos was surprised: “Extinct?”

God calmly told Sermos: “Extinct hundreds of millions of years ago.”

The mural well recorded God’s calmness and Snake Mother Sermos’s shock.

Especially one sentence.

“Extinct hundreds of millions of years ago.”

A simple sentence, containing endless vicissitudes.

Dismissed in a single phrase was the rise and fall of the existence known as the Trilobite people.

Generations of Trilobite people, their prosperity and glory, were all encapsulated in that single sentence: extinct hundreds of millions of years ago.

Here, the Blood Progenitor unknowingly began to shed tears.

She touched the clay ocarina held by the Snake Mother in the painting, imagining the mournful and helpless sound of a Trilobite priest from the God-Forsaken Era playing it.

“So hundreds of millions of years have passed.”

“No wonder… everything has vanished, the world has become so different.”

She finally understood how many years had passed since the previous era.

Even as a mythical being, she felt a shudder, and she finally understood why the plan had failed.

In fact, given such a long passage of time, it was fortunate that the Trilobite people could be passed down in the form of Life Ability at all.

She entered the Temple of Life, beholding the divine throne resembling a candelabra and feeling the dense aura left behind by the Life Sovereign.

Even though the divine throne had long been vacant, the former deity’s whereabouts unknown.

But that terrifying aura still directly pressed the Blood Progenitor to her knees, bowing towards the divine throne.

After a long while, she stood up and carefully examined everything here.

God had long departed.

Leaving only an empty temple.

After paying her respects, she left the temple and went to the Tower of Heaven from snake people’s mythology.

It was said that there was an entrance to God’s realm here.

Unfortunately, she didn’t find anything that could open God’s realm here.

The Blood Progenitor didn’t stay here for long, eventually leaving after viewing all the murals.

Although she didn’t find the answers she originally sought, she obtained another answer she wanted to know even more—

City of Fire Protection.

The Blood Progenitor brought the first Life Ability infant Trilobite person to a place in the city where several snake eggs were placed.

Newborn snake people were waiting to hatch.

She chose one of the snake eggs, and the infant Trilobite person she was holding suddenly transformed into a blood shadow, falling into it.

Life Ability Trilobite people at the first rank had no wisdom.

There was little difference between them and an object or a dead thing.

They could only gain wisdom by relying on the shed skin of an intelligent life form, but this shed skin couldn’t contain any trace of wisdom blood. Previously, Life Ability users basically relied on the shed skins left behind by Trilobite people who had become ghosts to finally break through the threshold of the second rank.

The Blood Progenitor looked at the new life within the snake egg, listening to its increasingly powerful life rhythm.

“Don’t be afraid.”

“I won’t kill you.”

“I’m just making a contract with you, gifting you with great power in life, and in death, you’ll give your body to our race.”

The blood shadow gathered, forming a mark on the snake egg.

The snake person would still be born, and because of the Life Ability seed parasitizing their body, they would even have a strong physique, master some strange powers, and even awaken some special inheritances and knowledge.

But as they gradually aged and died, this body would become the vessel for a Trilobite person’s rebirth.

A Trilobite person who had inherited the memories of the previous era would be reborn, returning from the river of time.

Although the Blood Progenitor didn’t know whether the one returning would be a Trilobite person with another person’s memories.

Or perhaps another race entirely, one that could no longer be called Trilobite people.

But this was all she could do, and it was the last hope for their civilization.

She gently stroked the snake egg, her dark green eyes revealing a hint of tenderness.

“Let our civilization coexist with yours!”

“Together, let’s reach a glory we’ve never achieved before.”

This was the Blood Progenitor’s idea.

She needed the power of the snake people, but she didn’t want to be enemies or go to war with them.

Although she alone could kill all the snake people, easily exterminating this race.

She understood that violence often failed to resolve issues.

The Royal Bloodline family once possessed such great power, controlling seven Ruhe beasts, yet they never saw a bright future.

Instead, it was when the Trilobite people abandoned the Ruhe beasts that they reached their peak.

She also realized that from the moment the Seed of the Trilobite was contaminated, it would be difficult for the Trilobite people to give birth to a large population from now on. They would only exist as a race with powerful abilities but few in number.

The best solution was to merge with another civilization.

Behind the scenes of the world.

To exist forever.

The Blood Progenitor slowly stood up, her shadow disappearing into the air.

“Let everything start anew from now on!”
