Chapter 219: Everything from the Past Will Return

The massive, imposing Beast Magic City perched atop the mountain range. Its dark, cold gates slowly opened, gradually revealing three figures behind them.

A ferocious crawler beast, a tall snake person, and a little girl.

Clearly, both the vicious crawler and the tall snake person were afraid of the little girl at this moment, not daring to even glance at her.

With their limited intelligence and knowledge, they didn’t understand concepts like flattery or pleasing others. They didn’t even grasp the concept of God.

In their eyes, Shelly was simply the most terrifying monster in this world, the most powerful individual.

They followed behind the little girl out of sheer terror, like toys to be manipulated at her whim.

Today, Shelly wasn’t wearing her black cloak or playing the role of a dark deity.

Instead, she had donned a gray robe like a priest’s, with a tall hat on her head. In her hand, she clutched a broken stick she’d found somewhere.

She looked rather comical.

Shelly sat astride her “mount,” a crawler creature with a hard shell.
The snake person followed behind, slithering along with her tail while holding an umbrella to shield Shelly from the sun.

Shelly was preparing to tour her domain and territory with her mount and servant. After all, the seven Ruhe beasts slumbering beneath the ground were her servants, and this entire island was constructed from the power emanating from the Ruhe beasts’ bodies.

Without a doubt, this place was Shelly’s domain.

Shelly raised her broken stick and shouted with “majestic vigor.”

“Forward!”

“Land Dragon!”

She had even given this crawler beast a name, calling it the Land Dragon.

Although, apart from its fierce head, it didn’t seem to have much in common with dragons.

It crawled close to the ground and wasn’t particularly fast, nor was it especially powerful in combat.

The Land Dragon had barely left the city when it lost control and crawled down the wrong path, heading towards a side road instead of the downhill path.

Shelly was angry.

She raised the broken stick in her hand to frighten the Land Dragon, causing it to flatten itself against the ground, motionless for a long while.

The snake person wasn’t faring much better. Her umbrella was tilted at odd angles, swaying left and right with her body movements, serving no real purpose.

What was meant to be a dignified inspection had turned into a comical farce.

Yet, simple and crude as it was, Shelly had practiced this routine with the Land Dragon and snake person many times within the Beast Magic City.

After three or four more attempts, they finally managed to descend from the mountain.

The inspection team moved through the territory with “great dignity,” but unfortunately, there was nothing at the foot of the mountain – no forests, no creatures, just bare rocks.

There was neither scenery to admire nor cheering crowds.

In the end, Shelly just circled the mountain once before returning.

The Land Dragon rested at the base of the temple, while the snake person secretly ate in a corner. It was a snack Shelly had brought from the God’s Realm and just rewarded her with.

In the temple, Shelly rested her chin on her hand, bored.

“How foolish!” she muttered.

Shelly glanced at the female snake person eating below and said disapprovingly, “You can’t work well, but you sure know how to eat.”

The snake person couldn’t understand what Shelly was saying and just stared at her blankly.

The snake person was much less intelligent than Shelly had imagined. Although she had a brain structure similar to that of the Trilobite people, her intelligence was comparable to that of a wild beast.

She couldn’t learn language at all and understood only a few emotions.

Shelly had considered granting her some power, but while her bloodline could bestow great strength, it couldn’t give wisdom to every individual of a species.

At this moment, a phrase echoed in her mind.

She couldn’t recall the scene, but just hearing the voice, she knew it was something God had once said.

“The Life Ability might be suitable for creating a group of incredibly powerful individuals, but it’s not suited for mass-producing life forms with ordinary intelligence.”

“Quantity is the foundation for creating a brilliant civilization.”

Shelly looked to the sky.

She thought of the Wisdom Ability, of the race recorded on the stone tablets.

At the same time, she also thought of the dense, star-like life dreams in the Dream Realm.

“The Wisdom Ability.”

She had been out playing for a long time; she felt it was time to go back and take a look.

Perhaps God had awakened by now?

When Shelly thought of something, she acted immediately, without any delay.

The hot air balloon drifted away.

The snake person and the Land Dragon watched Shelly ascend into the sky on the hot air balloon, not daring to move as they lay on the ground.

It looked like they were prostrating themselves, but in reality, it was an instinctive response of animals encountering a powerful being.

Only when Shelly and the balloon had gradually disappeared from view did the snake person and Land Dragon dare to stand up.

The gate to God’s Realm remained open a crack, and the spirit hot air balloon quickly floated back to the God-Given Land.

Shelly took small steps towards the top, lifting her hands with each step, taking a long time to reach the summit. She noisily entered the temple.

Her eyes were filled with anticipation.

She hoped that as she passed through this door, she would see someone inside talking, welcoming her back.

Unfortunately, the pyramid temple remained silent.

She didn’t see the figure from her memory fragments, the one who often stood by the window or sat in a chair reading.

Just like when she had awakened, there was only a cold statue.

“Still not awake?” Shelly looked at the statue of God, feeling a bit dejected.

Then she went back to sit in front of the great door, staring blankly outside.

The stairs were long, and at the bottom lay the God-Given City of the Trilobite people.

However, the past glory was now just ruins, mostly hidden in a sea of flowers, and even this state was only maintained because it was within God’s Realm.

The dream spirit Hila had once asked God why he didn’t restore the God-Given City, and God had said that the ruins were also a form of history and memory; restoring it would mean losing many things.

The spirit understood, yet didn’t fully comprehend.

Various dream domains were scattered across the island, but because the spirits and Spirits of Wishes had not yet awakened, everything seemed lifeless and empty.

After resting for a while, she boarded the hot air balloon again and floated towards God’s Moon.

She vaguely remembered that God’s Moon was the core and essence of the Wisdom Ability, the location of the unique and original divine artifact of the Wisdom Ability.

Within the encasement of God’s Grace Stones, the Crown of Wisdom was hidden.

She wanted to borrow a little power of the Wisdom Ability from it.

The hot air balloon landed on God’s Moon, a silvery sphere so perfectly round that standing on it felt like one might slip off at any moment.

Shelly stepped down, and the moment her hand touched God’s Moon, something unexpected happened.

The previously dim God’s Moon burst into brilliance, its dazzling silver light sweeping across every corner of the Dream Realm.

Then, it disappeared from within the Dream Realm.

On the eastern coast of the continent and across the entire Beast Island, all living beings saw a silver moon hanging in the sky, radiating endless light.

Even though it was daytime, the sky immediately darkened when God’s Moon appeared.

Creatures with only low intelligence gazed at this spectacle. Though they didn’t understand what was happening, their pupils and memories recorded this awe-inspiring scene.

Even if they would turn to dust in history, perhaps these memories would transform into fragmented dreams carried to the star sea of the Dream Realm.

From all corners of the world, endless streams of silver light converged, gathering into God’s Moon.

The power of God’s Moon surged, its aura expanding layer by layer.

At this moment, Shelly stood atop God’s Moon, overlooking the entire world.

Engulfed in silver light, she was stunned.

She had only intended to knock off a piece of God’s Grace Stone, how had it caused such a commotion?

She touched God’s Moon again, wondering, “How did it suddenly come out?”

The moment God’s Moon appeared, dramatic changes also erupted on Beast Island.

Beast Island had formed when the power of the Ruhe beasts broke through certain limits and continued to extend, combining together.

Their power covered the former Abyss Kingdom and even encompassed most of what was once the Yinsai Kingdom.

Although these two ancient kingdoms had long since been obliterated by time, all their relics ground to dust by the long river of years.

But the artifacts they left behind, their once-supernatural creations, and some things that time could not erode were all buried on this Beast Island.

Now, with the reappearance of God’s Moon in the sky, all these things were activated.

In the southern part of Beast Island.

“Boom!”

The earth rumbled, and the ground began to crack bit by bit.

Newborn stone demons crawled out from the earth, raising their arms to God’s Moon in the sky.

The stone demons that had once slumbered, though they had completely turned to stone in their long sleep, had preserved their mythical bloodline in some places. This bloodline, imbued with the power of curses, was revived under God’s Moon, devouring the surrounding stones to reform the stone demon race.

From the rotting swamps, translucent shadows floated out, transforming into fire demons of various sizes.

Huge waves rose in the sea, and a terrifying beast stretched its wings, flying out from the seabed amidst the spray, soaring through the nine heavens.

The wing demons, extinct for hundreds of millions of years, who had ended the era of the Trilobite people, reappeared in the sky, letting out terrifying roars above the sea of clouds.

With one glide, they covered dozens or hundreds of miles, soon appearing on the eastern coast of the continent.

Their black wings unfurled, casting terrifying shadows on the land and sea.

The creatures of the eastern continent trembled under their pressure. Those who had once been at the top of the food chain now could only cower in fear when faced with these ancient monsters.

Under the light and radiating power of God’s Moon, monsters began to reappear on the surface.

All across Beast Island, various artifacts buried deep underground began to glow in unison.

A golden compass, broken clay dolls, a mobile house with a windmill, and more.

All sorts of wondrous creations unleashed their power under the influence of God’s Moon.

The radiance of God’s Moon grew increasingly intense as it continuously absorbed the unclaimed mythical blood scattered throughout the world, finally transforming into God’s Grace Stone.

Standing atop God’s Moon, overlooking Beast Island and the sea, Shelly fell into deep thought as she witnessed this scene.

Suddenly, she recalled something else.

It was from an unimaginably distant time ago, when God Yinsai had held her hand and muttered to her:

“What god?”

“What creator?”

“Just a prisoner trapped in the cage of time.”

God would often say such things to her, though at that time she couldn’t respond in any way.

It was as if God was talking to himself rather than to her.

Shelly grasped her head, sensing that these words held great importance, concealing a vital piece of information.

But what exactly that information was, she suddenly couldn’t recall.

In a flash, Shelly’s eyes brightened as she remembered what she had considered so crucial.

“Anchor points.”

“Each of us, every life and creation with mythical blood, is God’s anchor point in this world.”

The previously confused Shelly suddenly realized what she needed to do; perhaps she could do something for God.

If she could create more anchor points, if she could increase the number of intelligent life forms to form a civilization.

Then maybe God would awaken faster.

Although she wasn’t sure if this was the right approach, it was the only method she could think of at the moment.

God’s Moon hung in the sky for half a day before finally disappearing over the eastern coast of the continent—

Beast Magic City.

Shelly returned, carrying the blood of Wisdom.

With a wave of her hand, she summoned numerous tendrils that immediately entwined the female snake person, binding her securely.

The female snake person didn’t understand what Shelly intended to do to her and struggled in fear.

Shelly looked at the female snake person and pouted.

“What are you afraid of? I’m not going to eat you.”

“I’m giving you the most important thing in this world.”

“Wisdom.”

“It took me crossing an entire era to awaken this thing called wisdom.”

Shelly held a piece of God’s Grace Stone in her hand, from which streams of light and dust spread towards the female snake person’s body.

Those light particles entered the female snake person’s body, gradually converging in her brain.

“Even though the Trilobite people are extinct, their legacy will live on through your race and all races with higher intelligence.”

A remarkable transformation began within the female snake person’s body. Her eyes shifted from dull to bright and alert.

Her consciousness and thoughts coalesced into light, possessing a wondrous power.

The Wisdom Ability reappeared in the snake people race. They inherited the brain structure of the Trilobite people and their power.

Shelly didn’t grant the female snake person too much power, as she wasn’t sure how much power this fragile creature could withstand. If she died from being unable to handle it, it would be troublesome.

After all, Shelly didn’t need her to be extremely powerful, but rather to serve as a foundation for creating an intelligent race.

Shelly put away the God’s Grace Stone and carefully examined the changes within the female snake person’s body.

Sensing the light of thought bursting from within the female snake person, that ability to communicate through consciousness, she confirmed her success.

Shelly stamped her foot, and all the tendrils retreated into the black shadow beneath her feet.

She stepped forward; the female snake person had already awakened.

The female snake person still trembled and lay on the ground as usual, her waist arched high.

Shelly crouched in front of her and whispered in her ear.

“Hey.”

“Can you speak now?”

The female snake person didn’t open her mouth, but the power of conscious thought was transmitted to Shelly’s mind.

It was a somewhat muddled consciousness but carried a sense of curiosity, like a newborn life that had just hatched and was observing the world from a different perspective.

Although the female snake person wasn’t newly born, possessing higher intelligence and complex emotions was equivalent to rebirth for her.

She and her species had leaped from the bottom of the food chain to become beings capable of competing for the protagonist role of an era.

Shelly tried once again to teach the female snake person to speak, pointing at herself.

“I am… the King of Beasts.”

“Mother of Life.”

“Shelly.”

The snake person opened her mouth, trying to imitate Shelly’s speech.

However, she only managed to utter two sounds: “Hiss hiss.”

She repeated several times but couldn’t produce the syllables of the first few words.

Finally, she skipped the first words and managed to call out Shelly’s name: “Hiss-mering Sss-mossly.”

The snake person’s vocal organs and tongue were completely different from a human’s, always producing a hissing sound when speaking.

The grand title of Mother of Life was pronounced as “Hiss-mering,” and Shelly became “Sss-mossly.”

But this delighted Shelly, as it was the first time someone had conversed with her since she awakened.

Although the snake person’s speech was a bit strange, it didn’t matter at this moment.

Shelly gave the female snake person a name.

“You always make hissing sounds, and you’re the world’s first snake person.”

“I’ll call you Sermos!”

It meant the hissing snake mother who hisses.

Her naming artistry was remarkably similar to that of God Yinsai.

Shelly taught Sermos a few phrases for daily communication but quickly grew impatient.

When God Yinsai originally wanted the Trilobite people to have their own language, writing, and civilization, he didn’t allow Redlichia to pass down the language and writing he used.

But Shelly was different.

She couldn’t be bothered with such details and taught Sermos the divine script that the Trilobite people had once desperately desired.

However, Shelly wasn’t a good teacher, and Snake Mother Sermos only learned a smattering of the divine script from her. Not only was the pronunciation odd, but the strokes of the characters were also full of errors.

In the end, some words and pronunciations were identical to the divine script and language.

While others were completely unrecognizable, not only differing in pronunciation and writing but also in meaning, which Snake Mother Sermos had to fill in herself.

Shelly, being self-taught, had done remarkably well to teach even this much—

Not long after becoming a Wisdom Ability user, Snake Mother Sermos reached the second rank.

She didn’t even use the Sun Cup; this method of advancement was completely different from the Trilobite people’s priest system.

This was because what Shelly gave to Snake Mother Sermos wasn’t the initial Wisdom blood, but Wisdom blood imbued with the power of God’s Grace imprint.

Shelly, after all, wasn’t a Wisdom Ability user and didn’t understand the detailed advancement system of the Wisdom Ability. She had forgotten, or perhaps never cared about, the fact that Wisdom bloodline needed the Sun Cup to advance.

Through the inheritance of the imprint power, the Snake Mother awakened an innate divine technique at the second rank.

She invited her master, the great Mother of Life Shelly, to witness her proudest power.

“My master.”

“Please observe my power.”

Snake Mother Sermos activated her divine technique and opened her eyes.

A plant on the ground began to petrify from its roots. The petrification followed Sermos’s gaze, rising until the entire plant became an exquisite stone sculpture.

“I offer this to the supreme Life Sovereign.”

“The great King of Beasts.”

“Shelly~”

The last word, “Shelly,” was drawn out long because Shelly liked it that way.

After watching, Shelly prepared to praise Snake Mother Sermos. Imitating God Yinsai’s style, she put on an adult-like demeanor and nodded at Snake Mother Sermos.

“Interesting.”

“Your ability is very impressive.”

Then she changed her tone: “From now on, if any part of the Beast City is broken or damaged, you’ll be responsible for repairing the walls.”

“These walls are too bare and unsightly. In the future, you’ll be in charge of carving murals.”

Although many of Shelly’s memories were unclear, she seemed to have retained the memory of being ordered to build houses and carve murals.

Sermos’s proud expression immediately crumbled, and she even began to doubt her own ability.

Was this all her awakened innate divine technique was good for?

Having learned language and mastered divine techniques, it was time to prepare for a very important matter.

Snake Mother Sermos was eager to start propagating her own race, something she had long anticipated.

She also wanted to create a race of her own, to become the queen of a species.

In the temple, Shelly released the Mother Conch of All Things beneath the tall, candle-like divine throne. As it descended, the palm-sized Mother Conch of All Things expanded into an enormous object.

Within the Mother Conch of All Things, Snake Mother Sermos laid a clutch of snake eggs.

Soon after, little snake people emerged from the snake eggs, gathering around Snake Mother Sermos.

Snake Mother Sermos excitedly picked up one of the children, holding it high.

“Welcome to this world.”

“My children!”

A brand new intelligent species appeared in this world.

Atop the temple, Shelly also watched the birth of these new lives.

She suddenly raised her head to look at the sky, her gaze seeming to penetrate into the Dream Realm.

Over there.

Was the light of God’s Moon shining a bit brighter?—

In the depths of Beast Island, submerged in dark waters, a huge red crystal was embedded. Upon closer inspection, one would find that an entire island was frozen within this red crystal.

Within the island were a lighthouse broken in two, ruined castles, and empty ritual workshops.

In the castle’s holy temple.

A woman wearing the sage robes of the Temple of Truth sat in a chair, with a Trilobite person standing behind her, holding her shoulders.

Everything was sealed within, this huge red crystal like an amber preserving history from hundreds of millions of years ago.

Sealed within the amber was the Scarlet Apostle, who had directly crossed time and years to arrive in this era along with the monsters.

However, unlike the monsters, the Scarlet Apostle didn’t have the Eye of Mutation, and her transformation over these years was completely different from theirs.

Yet she had far surpassed the threshold of entering mythology.

But in some ways, she was like the monsters; once her power exceeded a certain limit, it became uncontrollable.

That power merged with the earth and stones, becoming part of Beast Island, jointly constructing this unprecedented entity with the monsters.

The Scarlet Apostle had also come here along with the Ruhe beasts at the call of the Mother of Life’s horn, but she had clearly been asleep for too long and had forgotten how to wake up.

Or perhaps, those cycles of reincarnation had already worn her down to a stone-like existence.

But the earlier appearance of God’s Moon seemed to ignite the divine artifact embedded in her eyes like a signal.

The Eye of True Knowledge.

Now the Eye of True Knowledge glowed in her eyes, like a burning flame.

However, exactly how long it would take for her to fully awaken remained unknown.

In a corner of the western part of Beast Island, buried under layers upon layers of stone.

A smooth, marble-white bone hand flickered dimly, with symbols representing truth and myth on its back.

Through this symbol, consciousness could penetrate into an unknowable place.

One could see a giant door hidden in endless darkness, bound by layers of chains.

This giant door was already decayed and nearly collapsed, but under the power of myth, it desperately maintained its last bit of strength.

Everything from the past will eventually return.

No one knows what sparks will fly when they clash with everything in this era, what changes will occur.
