Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 767: Learning the Storm King’s Inheritance

Max’s fists clenched at his sides, veins pulsing as a fierce light ignited in his eyes. ’Looks like I’ll have to join many such battlefields between the human races and the Nulls.’

His lips curled into a smile sharp as a blade. ’It’s good that I joined the Hunter Association as a guest elder. With that status, I should be able to gain entry to even higher-level battlefields in the future.’

He felt a rush of satisfaction and vindication. The decision to accept President William’s offer now seemed not merely wise—but essential.

Yet, even as power coursed through him like a roaring river, a small flicker of unease sparked in the depths of his mind. ’Still...I feel like I’ve been leveling way faster these days.’ He couldn’t deny the slight chill creeping down his spine at the thought.

Whether it was simply paranoia or some unseen force nudging him forward, he couldn’t tell. But the truth was undeniable: his growth was beyond normal, even for a monstrous genius.

Though, as he felt the raw might surging within his veins, he couldn’t quite bring himself to complain. Instead, a quiet grin tugged at his lips. ’If fate wants me to rise quickly...then I’ll just keep climbing higher until no one can stand in my way.’

Following that decisive surge in strength, Max slowly opened his eyes, the golden glow receding as he exhaled a deep breath, feeling the dense new strength that now pulsed through every vein and muscle like molten metal.

But his focus wasn’t simply on consolidating the raw power of his new levels. He still had unfinished business—an inheritance he’d risked much to secure.

With the hum of residual energy swirling around him, he reached into his storage space and withdrew a handful of objects that glimmered faintly under the chamber’s lantern light: the Lightning Essence Stones.

Each stone was no larger than a grape, crystalline and pulsing with tiny arcs of violet lightning trapped inside as if thunderclouds had been sealed into their cores. The light they cast flickered across Max’s sharp features, dancing in his eyes like starlight in a storm.

Without hesitation, Max carefully placed the stones before him on the floor of the training chamber, sitting cross-legged once more as he began to prepare for the next step in his relentless path.

He shut his eyes, sinking his consciousness inward, and summoned the fragments of knowledge branded into his memory—the instructions given by the Storm King’s inheritance.

According to the vivid scenes that played across his mind, the first step in learning the Storm King’s inheritance required him to absorb the pure lightning energy contained within the Lightning Essence Stones and condense it into a small sphere—a tiny, blazing orb of electric might—nestled within his inner source where his core resided.

That lightning sphere would serve as the seed of the Storm King’s true power, becoming a secondary nucleus of energy that could be cultivated and expanded over time until it grew to rival even his main core. It was a delicate process, requiring extraordinary precision and control.

Max inhaled slowly, and as he exhaled, thin arcs of blue-white lightning began to flicker around his fingers, crackling like the whispers of an approaching tempest. He lifted one of the stones and pressed it gently against his chest, channeling his energy inward to guide the stone’s essence into himself.

Almost at once, he felt the dense, volatile power surge into his meridians—a burning, needle-like current that hissed through his veins, so intense it nearly felt as if a thousand blades were carving lines of lightning beneath his skin.

It was a painstaking endeavor. Every moment felt like trying to control a raging flood by hand, and the searing pain twisted through his body until sweat rolled down his temples and his breathing grew ragged.

It took him nearly an hour just to fully draw out and refine the lightning energy from a single stone. Three hours later, he’d finally absorbed the energy from three stones, channeling every drop into a small, fiercely glowing ball of lightning that now hovered beside the dense sphere of power that was his core inside his inner space.

The tiny lightning orb crackled with concentrated power, arcs of purple and silver energy lashing around its surface like chained serpents.

But even as Max stared at the glimmering result in his inner sight, a deep frown creased his brow. ’The absorption process is so damn slow,’ he thought, irritation gnawing at the edges of his patience.

He flexed his fingers restlessly, electric sparks crackling off his nails as he considered his options. ’I can’t simply devour the stones directly with my black flames—that would send all the energy straight into my body instead of condensing it separately into the lightning sphere.’

And that would defeat the purpose of the Storm King’s inheritance entirely. He needed that lightning essence to form a second reservoir of power, not to boost his raw strength level.

He gazed down at the remaining stones, a dozen or more still untouched, each one quietly pulsing with restrained fury. Yet no matter how he tried, after absorbing three stones, he found himself unable to draw in any more.

Each time he tried to continue, the lightning essence simply refused to merge into the tiny orb, as if some invisible barrier had formed inside him.

’According to the inheritance, I’ll need to wait for a period of time for the ball of lightning inside my inner space to stabilize before I can absorb any more lightning essence stones,’ Max mused, his eyes half-lidded as he sat cross-legged on the cool jade floor of the private chamber, still cloaked in the soft glow of the room’s spiritual lights.

’I’ve only absorbed three lightning essence stones and already reached a point of instability,’ Max thought grimly, frowning as he flexed his fingers and watched sparks snap and dance over his knuckles. ’It seems like either I’ll have to wait for a period of time after enough lightning essence stones—like nine of them—to reach the second stage, or I’d have to take the slow route and feed it a few stones at a time whenever my inner space stabilizes.’

He closed his eyes, running through the memories left behind by the Storm King in meticulous detail, recalling every image, every diagram, and every cryptic piece of advice.

The ancient monarch’s deep voice echoed in his head, warning of the dangers of forcing too much lightning energy into the nascent sphere too quickly—lest it explode like a storm breaking free of its chains and tear the cultivator apart from within.
