Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 762: President William’s Offer

Without another word, he turned and began striding toward the towering facade of the Hunter Association Tower. Max followed close behind, his white hair catching glints of sunlight filtering through high arched windows as they moved deeper into the heart of the grand building.

The tower’s interior corridors were lined with marble floors that gleamed under soft, crystalline lights, and the walls were adorned with elegant pictures depicting scenes of legendary battles and ancient beasts being slain by heroic hunters.

A quiet hush seemed to settle over the hallways, the weight of centuries of secrets pressing gently on the air. Max felt the presence of countless powerful experts concealed behind ornate doors, and the occasional ripple of potent energy hinted at just how formidable this place truly was.

After navigating a series of winding staircases and guarded corridors, they finally stopped before a large, exquisitely carved wooden door inscribed with intricate runes that glowed faintly blue. Elder Liam turned to Max, his face regaining its solemn composure.

”Go in,” Elder Liam said softly. ”He’s waiting for you inside.”

Max nodded, his expression unreadable, and reached out to push open the door.

Inside, the room was striking in its simplicity. Despite belonging to one of the most influential men in the Middle Domain, it lacked ostentatious decoration. There were couches of dark wood and cream-colored cushions, a simple wooden table polished to a high shine, and shelves lined with neatly arranged scrolls and crystalline artifacts. Soft daylight streamed through enormous windows, casting gentle patterns across the floor.

But Max’s attention was immediately drawn to the lone figure standing near the far window, gazing out over the city below. The man appeared to be in his late sixties, his back straight and imposing despite his age. His long hair, white as freshly fallen snow, cascaded down his back like a silken waterfall.

Even without seeing his face, Max could feel the pressure emanating from him—a presence as deep and vast as the ocean, yet so still it seemed to swallow all sound.

The old man exuded a quiet dominance, the kind that didn’t need roaring declarations or flashing techniques to assert itself. He was a man who had seen countless storms, whose every breath carried the weight of centuries of wisdom and battles fought in shadows and on open fields alike.

”As expected of the genius chosen by the princess of the Great Ruler Domain,” the old man said at last, his deep voice carrying the calm gravity of one who had stood at the pinnacle of power for decades, even as he slowly turned from the window to face Max.

His piercing eyes, a color somewhere between the pale of old silver and storm-lit skies, fell upon Max with a mixture of sharp scrutiny and quiet curiosity, as though peering straight into the depths of his soul.

Max’s eyes narrowed the instant he heard those words, the faintest ripple of surprise flashing across his usually composed expression.

’He knows about my connection to Lyra?’ Max thought, a sliver of caution slipping into his posture.

Without missing a beat, however, he dipped his head in a respectful bow, his white hair spilling forward like silk. ”This junior greets senior,” he said evenly, his voice polite yet guarded, every word chosen with precision.

A faint, approving smile curved the old man’s lips as he regarded Max. ”You have genuine respect for the elders. Good,” he said with a quiet nod, his voice softer now, carrying a warmth that softened the imposing weight of his presence.

Max straightened, his gaze unwavering but respectful. ”It’s an honor for this junior to meet the President of the Hunter Association. Though I wonder for what task senior has summoned this junior for?” he asked, his tone perfectly balanced between curiosity and caution.

The old man’s smile widened slightly, and he gave a small, graceful gesture as though waving away formality. ”My name is William Vanheilm. You can call me President William.” His voice rolled gently, carrying the kind of measured cadence that could soothe a raging storm or command an army with a single word.

He paused then, folding his hands behind his back as he regarded Max with those glinting eyes. ”I observed your battle just now, and I must say, I am quite shocked,” he said, his words carrying a weight that resonated through the quiet room. ”In all my years, I have witnessed many geniuses rise and fall. Each generation births monsters who burn bright for a time... and yet, your talent and potential are clearly a level beyond any I have seen.”

Max felt his brows pull into a faint frown as he listened, his golden eyes sharp and thoughtful. ”What is President William getting at?” he asked directly, unwilling to dance around subtle meanings.

President William chuckled lightly, shaking his head as a sigh slipped from his lips, a sound that seemed to carry centuries of fatigue and wisdom. ”I am not getting at anything,” he said. ”At least, not in the way you might be thinking.”

He shifted slightly, the sunlight from the tall window throwing half his face into bright relief and leaving the other half in a soft shadow, as though mirroring the delicate balance of light and darkness in his words.

”The thing is, I want you to join the Hunter Association.”

Max’s frown deepened instantly, the air around him growing subtly more tense. ’Join the Hunter Association?’ His mind raced as conflicting thoughts flashed through him.

He had already pledged himself to the Great Ruler Empire and to Princess Lyra. He knew the politics and rivalries that defined the Middle Domain; to join another force, especially one as influential as the Hunter Association, would be to court disaster. It would bring shame upon the Great Ruler Empire—and worse, it would betray the trust Lyra had placed in him.

Moreover, there was also the soul contract deal he had with Princess Lyra. Under this circumstance, he simply couldn’t betray her and the Great Ruler Empire.

Before Max could voice his refusal, however, President William lifted one hand, as though gently brushing aside Max’s unspoken protest. ”Before you refuse,” he said, his voice low but firm, ”listen to what this old man has to say first.”

He regarded Max with eyes that seemed to see straight through to his very intentions.

”I know you have already joined the Great Ruler Empire,” President William continued, his tone free of judgment. ”And I have no intention of poaching you away from them. I understand loyalty—and the consequences of betraying it—better than most. Instead, I would like to invite you to the Hunter Association as a guest elder.”

Max blinked, taken aback, his mouth parting slightly as the meaning of those last words sank in. A guest elder—an honorary position that offered privileges, access to resources, and influence without demanding complete allegiance or forcing him to sever ties to his original force.

It was a rare invitation, one seldom offered to anyone who wasn’t already a legend in their own right. And for the President himself to extend such an offer... it spoke volumes about how highly they valued him.

A swirl of possibilities churned behind Max’s calm exterior as he pondered deeply about President William’s offer.
