Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

100: A trusted confidant at the peak of C-level was actually a mole?Su Wanqing’s body tensed with cold Qi, entering a combat state.

Lin Yuan’s reaction was even faster.

His brain hadn’t even processed it, but his body had already reacted a step ahead.

”Om—!”

With a flap of the Thunder Falcon Wings on his back, his entire being vanished from the spot!

Qin Hai only felt a blur before his eyes, and a gust of wind already assailed his face!

”Wait! I didn’t...”

He hadn’t finished speaking.

”Bang!”

A dull thud.

Lin Yuan’s figure had already appeared behind him, a metal thunderfall battle staff now in his hand.

The thunderfall battle staff.

Qin Hai’s eyes rolled back, and his body limply collapsed towards the ground.

...malice.”

The last two words floated out of his mouth, and then he completely lost consciousness.

The entire process happened in a flash.

From Qin Hai opening his mouth, to Lin Yuan striking, to him being knocked out, it was all over in less than two seconds.

Lin Yuan looked at Qin Hai lying on the ground and scratched his head.

A bit awkward.

He seemed... to have acted a little too quickly.

He had heard the phrase ”I didn’t have any malice” just now, but his body hadn’t stopped.

”Let’s take him away first.”

Lin Yuan said in a low voice.

He hoisted the unconscious Qin Hai onto his shoulder.

Su Wanqing nodded, not asking further.

Now was not the time to dwell on this.

The two exchanged a look and silently returned the way they came... to the Supervising Officer’s dorms.

”Thud.”

Qin Hai was casually tossed onto the carpet by Lin Yuan, letting out a muffled sound.

Lin Yuan clapped his hands, walked to the sofa, sat down, and let out a long breath.

Exciting.

Just escaped the Dragon’s Den, only to enter the Tiger’s Lair, and then there was an eagle behind the mantis stalking the cicada.

This Qin Family’s waters were deeper than he had imagined.

Su Wanqing closed the door and casually checked the room, confirming there were no new listening devices.

She walked over to Qin Hai, squatted down, and quickly examined him.

”He’s just knocked out, no life-threatening injuries.”

She stood up and looked at Lin Yuan, her eyes filled with inquiry.

”He said he didn’t have any malice.” Lin Yuan spread his hands, looking innocent, ”But me, I believe in striking first to gain the upper hand, and striking last to suffer.”

”What if he was tricking us?”

”Knock him out first, and the initiative is in our hands. Whatever he says, we can listen at our leisure.”

Su Wanqing: ”...”

Although it sounded like a twisted logic, it seemed... to indeed be the truth.

Simple and crude, but effective.

This was very Lin Yuan.

”So what now? Wake him up?”

”No rush.” Lin Yuan waved his hand.

”Let him sleep for a bit.”

He pointed at Qin Hai on the ground.

”This guy, a C-rank Peak. To follow us without our knowledge means his stealth skills are quite good.”

”Moreover, he’s Qin Shan’s confidant.”

”A confidant, not sleeping in the middle of the night, secretly following us, and still saying he has no malice?”

Lin Yuan curled his lips.

”Only a ghost would believe that.”

”When he wakes up, we’ll see what story he spins.”

Su Wanqing nodded in agreement.

She pulled out a chair, sat down beside it, and waited quietly.

Time passed, minute by minute.

About half an hour later.

Qin Hai on the ground twitched a finger, and a painful groan escaped his throat.

He slowly opened his eyes, still a bit dazed.

When he saw the ceiling and Lin Yuan sitting on the sofa, staring at him with interest, his memories returned.

He sat up, instinctively touching the back of his neck.

It was burning hot there.

”Awake?” Lin Yuan’s voice slowly rang out.

Qin Hai’s expression changed repeatedly.

He looked at Lin Yuan and the expressionless Su Wanqing beside him, and finally, a bitter smile appeared on his face.

”Supervisor Lin, what swift moves.”

”Just so-so, third in the world.” Lin Yuan said with a humble demeanor.

”Speak.” He leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, staring at Qin Hai.

”What exactly do you want, following us?”

”Don’t tell me you were taking a walk to aid digestion. At this time, in this place, not even a dog would believe that.”

Qin Hai fell silent.

He looked around, confirming he was in Lin Yuan’s dorm.

He knew that he was now a fish on a chopping board.

The other party could kill him with ease.

After a full thirty seconds of silence, he finally looked up at Lin Yuan and said, word by word.

”I came to make a deal with you two.”

”A deal?” Lin Yuan chuckled, ”What kind of deal would I have with you? You’re from the Qin Family, I’m from the Dragon Shield Bureau. We’re inherently not on the same Dao.”

”No.” Qin Hai shook his head, and in his eyes, a deep-seated hatred suddenly erupted.

”I’m not his man.”

”I’m here to kill him.”

This sentence made Su Wanqing’s pupils constrict slightly.

Lin Yuan’s smile also faded a bit.

This was getting interesting.

”Give me a reason to believe you.” Lin Yuan said indifferently.

Qin Hai took a deep breath, seemingly having made a major decision.

He stared intently at Lin Yuan, his voice hoarse.

”At the bottom of the Abyss of Suppressing Prison, the person locked to the bronze pillar is named Qin Feng.”

”He’s my brother.”

Boom!

This name, like a clap of thunder, exploded in the minds of Lin Yuan and Su Wanqing!

Qin Feng’s brother?

How could this be?

”Your brother?” Lin Yuan narrowed his eyes, ”As far as I know, Qin Feng was also a Supervising Officer sent by the Dragon Shield Bureau back then. And you are a core disciple of the Qin Family, Qin Shan’s confidant.”

”How could you be brothers?”

”Because we were both orphans adopted by the Qin Family.” Pain showed in Qin Hai’s eyes.

”We grew up together, given the Qin surname by the Qin Family. My brother’s talent was better than mine, so he was sent to the Dragon Shield Bureau for training, with boundless prospects.”

”And I stayed in the Qin Family, climbing step by step, becoming Qin Shan’s trusted subordinate.”

”We originally thought the Qin Family were our adoptive parents. Until... something happened to my brother.”

Qin Hai’s voice began to tremble.

”The Qin Family publicly announced that my brother accidentally fell into an abyss during a mission, leaving no trace of his body.”

”I didn’t believe it!”

”I knew my brother; he was cautious and powerful. How could something happen to him so easily!”

”I began to investigate in secret. Using Qin Shan’s trust in me, I gradually gained access to the Qin Family’s core secrets.”

”Eventually, I discovered that place, and I also discovered my brother...”

His fists were clenched tightly.

”I saw him locked to the pillar, saw him tormented by the abyss energy until he was neither human nor ghost!”

”I also learned about the Qin Family’s inhumane plan!”

”From that moment on, I had only one thought.”

Qin Hai looked up, his eyes bloodshot.

”Revenge!”

”I will make Qin Shan, and all the Qin Family Elders who participated in this matter, pay for their blood debts!”

Lin Yuan listened quietly, not speaking.

This story was more complete than Qin Feng’s version.

”So, you secretly followed us for this?” Lin Yuan asked.

”Yes.” Qin Hai nodded.

”I am alone, my power is limited. The Qin Family has countless experts and strict defenses; I had no chance at all.”

”I’ve been waiting.”

”Waiting for a variable that could break the stalemate.”

”Until you came.”

Qin Hai’s gaze fell on Lin Yuan.

”Especially you, Supervisor Lin.”

”You dared to publicly break Qin Jun’s leg, you dared to make Qin Shan lose face at his banquet.”

”Your appearance gave me hope.”

”I bet that you are not the kind of people who would be bought off by the Qin Family.”

”Now it seems I bet correctly.”

After listening, Lin Yuan leaned back on the sofa.

He didn’t immediately state his position but looked at Adjutant Su.

”Adjutant Su, what do you think?”

”Logically, there are no loopholes.” Su Wanqing analyzed calmly, ”But we cannot verify the truth of his words.”

”Indeed.” Lin Yuan nodded.

He looked back at Qin Hai, a playful smile on his face.

”A good story, very touching.”

”But to expect us to help you with just a story, isn’t that a bit too naive?”

”As a trade, you have to offer something... valuable, right?”

Qin Hai seemed to have anticipated his question.

He said in a deep voice.

”I know you want to enter that place.”

”I have a way to get you in without anyone knowing.”
