Thunderstorm Asthma? I’ll Just Drain the National Power Grid!

93: So, only those with the surname Qin follow the rules? I’ll beat the rules! The young man blocking the way looked at the terminal in Lin Yuan’s hand, not only showing no sign of backing down, but instead sneered.

”Supervising Officer?”

He scrutinized Lin Yuan, his eyes openly contemptuous.

”What a grand display of authority.”

He took a step forward, deliberately lowering his voice to a volume only the three of them could hear, and said, ”Kid, don’t think you can boss people around just because you’re holding a feather.”

He extended a finger and poked Lin Yuan’s chest.

”Here, the Qin Family is the rule.”

”Now, get back to your doghouse, submit your data reports on time, and everyone will be fine. Otherwise...”

He leaned close to Lin Yuan’s ear, his voice chilling.

”The wind and snow of Kunlun Mountain are quite ’nurturing’. Every year, a few clueless people get lost in them.”

It was a naked threat.

Su Wanqing’s expression turned cold, and a chill was already gathering around her wrist.

However.

Lin Yuan smiled.

”Oh?”

”Is that so?”

The young man looked at Lin Yuan’s smile, and his heart inexplicably skipped a beat.

Is this kid scared silly?

”What are you laughing at?” he demanded with a frown.

”I’m laughing at you,” Lin Yuan’s smile deepened, ”You’re really... too polite.”

”What?” The young man didn’t react.

The next second.

A steady voice came from deep within the passage.

”Stop! Qin Jun! Do not be rude to the Supervising Officer!”

There was a hint of urgency in the voice.

A figure was striding quickly from around the corner.

”Supervising Officer Lin, please hold your hand!”

It was too late.

Just as that voice sounded, Lin Yuan had already moved.

He raised his right foot and kicked it out.

”Bang!”

A dull thud.

The arrogance and threat on the young man’s face vanished.

He was lifted off his feet and sent flying backward.

”Pfft—”

A mouthful of fresh blood burst in the air, forming a mist of crimson.

The man who had just rushed around the corner, his pupils constricted.

He pushed off the ground, his body like lightning, and caught the unconscious Qin Jun in mid-air.

”Thud! Thud! Thud!”

After catching Qin Jun, the man was carried by the immense impact, retreating three large steps before he could barely steady himself.

He looked down at the person in his arms.

His sternum was caved in, an unknown number of ribs were broken, and blood continued to seep from the corners of his mouth.

He was completely unconscious.

Without three to five months of careful recuperation, he wouldn’t be able to get out of bed.

Just one kick.

A C-rank initial stage ancient martial arts expert was crippled just like that.

The man slowly raised his head, his gaze fixed intently on Lin Yuan.

His eyes looked as if they wanted to devour someone.

All the guards around, whose armbands bore the character ”Qin,” were stunned.

They clutched their weapons tightly, staring fixedly at Lin Yuan, as if they would pounce on him the next second.

Lin Yuan, however, acted as if nothing had happened.

He retracted his foot and lightly stomped.

Then he lifted his eyelids and looked at the man holding Qin Jun.

”Threatening a Supervising Officer.”

”Obstructing the Dragon Shield Bureau’s enforcement.”

”Attempting to subvert the Dragon Shield Bureau’s supreme jurisdiction at the outpost.”

Lin Yuan’s voice was calm, as if he were stating a trivial matter.

”Multiple offenses, cumulative punishment.”

”This kick of mine is just a minor warning.”

He took a step forward, looking directly into the other man’s eyes, which were almost spitting fire, and the corners of his mouth curved slightly upward.

”Do you have any objections?”

The man tightly held the young man in his arms, the veins on his arms bulging.

The aura around him surged wildly, clearly indicating he was on the verge of an outburst.

C-rank Peak!

Just one step away from reaching B-rank.

This person was an expert.

The chill within Su Wanqing was poised to strike.

If the other party dared to make a move, she would not hesitate to act.

However.

To everyone’s surprise.

After staring intently at Lin Yuan for a full ten seconds, the man slowly reined in his anger.

He took a deep breath.

”No.”

He squeezed out two words through gritted teeth.

Lin Yuan’s smile deepened.

”Supervising Officer Lin... your punishment is just,” the man said, enunciating each word, ”He clashed with a superior, and brought it upon himself. I will take him back and punish him severely according to family rules.”

After speaking, he no longer looked at Lin Yuan, nor at Su Wanqing.

He held the unconscious person in his arms and turned around.

”Let’s go.”

He barked at the surrounding guards, who were already dumbfounded.

The guards, as if waking from a dream, looked at each other, then glared hatefully at Lin Yuan before following the man and quickly leaving.

In the blink of an eye.

The once tense passage was left with only Lin Yuan and Su Wanqing, as well as the tightly shut black giant door.

A faint smell of blood still lingered in the air.

”That’s it... over?”

Lin Yuan looked at their retreating figures, feeling a murmur in his heart.

They chickened out just like that?

I thought we were going to fight.

I took off my pants... bah, I got into position, and that’s all you’re going to show me?

The Qin Family people, they’re too forbearing, aren’t they?

Even harder to deal with than I imagined.

”Why were you so impulsive?”

Su Wanqing’s voice sounded beside him, with a hint of helplessness.

Although she had also been ready to act just now, Lin Yuan’s style of directly kicking someone into serious injury without a word still made her a little nervous.

This was too unreasonable.

”Impulsive?”

Lin Yuan turned his head, looking at her with an innocent expression.

”Where was I impulsive? I was acting in self-defense.”

”Besides,” he patted his chest, righteous, ”I’m the Supervising Officer, I’m the boss here.”

”If I don’t show some attitude, they’ll really think we’re here to be mascots?”

”If they have objections, let them complain to Director Zhou.”

Lin Yuan chuckled.

”Let’s see if that old fox will accept the complaint.”

Su Wanqing: ”...”

After speaking, Lin Yuan ignored her, turned, and walked towards the large door.

He extended both hands and pressed them against the door.

”Who cares.”

”I’m here to be a Supervising Officer, not to play palace intrigue.”

He took a deep breath and pushed with both hands.

”Creak—”

The heavy giant door was slowly pushed open a crack by him.

A breath, mixed with dust and desolation, rushed out from the gap in the door.

Lin Yuan didn’t hesitate, turned sideways, and walked in.
