Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2599: Chapter 2594: Impossible to Eradicate

”We searched, we issued a missing person notice, but since there was no news, that’s why we made this decision. He didn’t want to go to an orphanage, so we had no choice but to bring him home. Nonetheless, we’re thinking that if his family comes in the future, if he wishes to go back, we will let him go back. After all, what we’re doing now is also out of necessity, mainly to give him a chance to study, such things are not easy to manage, we can only give him a residence registration.” Qin Xue was well aware of this, and it was precisely because she understood that when they discussed it as a family, they were already prepared: when his family comes, as long as Cohen wants to go back, they won’t interfere.

They knew that in such situations, family is his ultimate refuge, they were merely helping him, and if he didn’t want it, they could only respect his wishes. So, neither of them felt any different because of Cohen, they were all their sons; if they’re a family today, they’ll be forever.

Watching Cohen eat seriously, Qin Xue felt somewhat uneasy, though unsure of how to express it. This was all they could do, and they hadn’t given up on helping him find his family.

Chu Molin was asking his former colleagues for help to inquire, and Qin Xue was also working on an information database to help trafficked children find their families. However, current internet information isn’t very developed, and not widespread, so she was merely collecting their data to enable them to return to their families early in the future. They hadn’t told Cohen about this arrangement; it was something Qin Xue had asked Qing Teng to assist with. After Munara arrived here, Qing Teng didn’t involve her in Qingteng Gang’s affairs, instead letting her work in information collection, allowing her life to be simpler.

When Munara stepped out, she gained a deeper understanding of Qing Teng’s life, realizing she was once like a frog in a well; the outside world was so harsh. She wanted to be with Qing Teng, but Qing Teng refused, asking her to collect information, as that was more important. Protecting oneself is paramount; failure to do so can be very dangerous. Reflecting on Qing Teng’s words, Munara agreed to the arrangement. She worked hard to suppress her temper, and through repeated challenges, she finally became competent. Qing Teng was relieved to let her manage an information department, separate from their gang, lest it breeds dissatisfaction.

And the information Qin Xue requested was also organized by Munara’s team, so they were awaiting news. Finding his family was contingent on circumstances, as such matters couldn’t be rushed.

Qin Xue was even more aware of the challenges, because Cohen’s clues were too scarce; they could only search slowly among the vast sea of people, a natural progression.

”Alas, those despicable traffickers, why can’t they be eradicated?” Li Rong was furious, feeling utterly helpless upon hearing such stories; especially being on the verge of becoming a mother herself, the thought of her child being abducted, taken away from her, possibly never seeing them again, made her feel even more distressed. Such separations of flesh and blood shouldn’t happen often.

However, they were helpless, as certain issues prevented them from keeping children close, giving traffickers an opportunity, hence why many families suffer losses despite the tragedies befalling other families.
