Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2551: Chapter 2545: Rest Easy

”Hmm, take a rest with the child, I’ll call you when the food is ready.” Ye Xuan thought she had walked quite a bit and must be exhausted, so she should rest. The meal wouldn’t be ready for an hour, by which time she would have rested well.

”Okay.” Actually, Qing Zhu did want to rest, but she was sweaty all over, which felt sticky and uncomfortable. However, thinking that they had just arrived here, there was no way to wash up, so she just had to make do.

”I’m leaving now, I’ll lock the door for you, so rest assured.” Previously, Ye Xuan found it too far to fetch water from that place, so he asked someone to help bring some bamboo over, saving him from going too far for water, and ensuring the safety of Qing Zhu and her daughter.

With him keeping watch here, there wasn’t any danger that he wouldn’t catch, no need to be afraid. Ye Xuan was confident about that.

After Ye Xuan left, Qing Zhu lay down after thinking about it, as she was truly tired. She had walked such a long distance, and along the way, she hadn’t been in the best mood, so when she finally relaxed, she felt particularly drained.

Ye Xuan carried water and saw a few chocolate vines on the way, set the water down, climbed the tree to pull the vine and picked a few opened fruits.

Looking at the small pile of fruits, he wondered how to take them back. Glancing around, luck was on his side, Ye Xuan went over and picked two yam leaves. The leaves of these wild yams were fairly large, enough to wrap and bring the fruits back.

Carrying water in one hand and the wrapped fruits in the other, neither delayed progress. It seemed the mountain offered a bountiful harvest, only if he hadn’t brought the child, he could have taken Qing Zhu out to see.

In Ye Xuan’s mind, he never considered Qing Zhu a woman, a weaker individual. He believed that between a couple, there should be equality, speaking up about issues to resolve them, thus preventing lingering concerns.

As for what Ye Xuan did outside, Qing Zhu, asleep, was unaware until she was called up to eat.

”What time is it?” Qing Zhu looked at the darkening sky, realizing it was late. How long had she slept? She was supposed to be called when the food was ready, cooking a meal shouldn’t take two or three hours, right?

”Don’t worry about the time, just come eat, then go wash over there. Don’t worry, the area is fenced, no large animals will come.” Ye Xuan assumed Qing Zhu was worried about this, smiling as he explained.

Being in the forest, all they used were wood, but while building the cabin, Ye Xuan considered safety and had the surroundings fenced. Though just thorns and wood, traps were set around these areas, ensuring safety unless a large number of animals came.

Regarding Ye Xuan’s arrangements, Qing Zhu had no objections. After all, life had to be like this, following him on adventures was a decent choice, providing an experience of such thrilling life.

”Okay.” Qing Zhu responded. Since choosing this lifestyle, even in death, she embraced it, and living as a family here seemed nice, leading a peaceful life away from the hustle of society, a significant life pursuit.

But such a life is not for everyone. After all, it’s the era of reform and opening up, a new era. People are used to life now; reverting to primitive living, surely no one would want it?

At least Qing Zhu herself wouldn’t adapt, living occasionally is fine. Living constantly she wouldn’t get accustomed to, although returning to the forest for farming could be considered.
