Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2536: Chapter 2530: This Won’t Do

Qin Xue didn’t want things to be like this; she still needed to give money to Ji Yu. After all, as an adult, it’s easier for her to earn money, and for such a young child working so hard for life, how could she be a hindrance? It’s better to give her the money first.

Thinking of this, Qin Xue felt more compelled to care for Ji Yu, this child who was so small and without parents, truly pitiful.

At this time, she wanted to give her confidence. Ji Yu living so earnestly, she still wanted Ji Yu to know that there are people behind her, who can help her no matter what.

”Sister, it’s okay, these few flowers are yours, just keep them; besides, they aren’t worth much. It’s just that I felt playing at home is just playing, so I decided to sell flowers.” Ji Yu was full of emotion, Qin Xue didn’t want to take advantage of her, and these few flowers aren’t worth anything, there’s no need for her sister to give her money, it’s not necessary.

Additionally, these were left after selling, if she took money for them, she would feel embarrassed herself, really awkward.

Qin Xue didn’t expect Ji Yu to respond this way. Such a sensible child facing the various glances of the mortal world prematurely, made her feel both heartache and helplessness.

”Alright then, sister won’t give you money. Now sister is hungry, why don’t you accompany me for a meal, as a thank you. How does that sound?” Qin Xue looked at Ji Yu, hoping she would agree. If she didn’t agree before the words were spoken, it was understandable. Now that she had said it, she hoped to at least get her to eat something good.

”How about next time? My brother is coming home today, I can’t let him know I went out to sell flowers, or he’ll be angry.” Ji Yu was anxious, with time tugging on, her brother would be home soon, it was not okay.

Moreover, often her brother just wants her to stay home and be okay. She sneaked out this time, and couldn’t let him know, or she wouldn’t be able to do anything like this in the future, which isn’t what she wanted.

So when Ji Yu heard Qin Xue repeatedly offering to treat her to a meal, she was close to tears, not because she didn’t want to accept Qin Xue’s kindness, but because she couldn’t keep delaying.

”Alright then, take this back and eat. I’ll go have a meal myself.” Qin Xue brought a jar of diced meat to the shop today, hoping to have it when she doesn’t return home for dinner. Seeing Ji Yu refusing to dine with her, she thought of giving it to her to take back for a meal.

”Sister, I can’t take this, you should keep it. I already said, there’s food at home.” Though Ji Yu’s family is poor, she’s seen many cold shoulders over the years. People like Qin Xue, who are warmhearted enough to help, are rare, so she couldn’t accept her kindness lightly; they couldn’t repay it.

”Just take it; even if you don’t eat it, at least let your brother have some. You’re both at an age where you’re growing, and if nutrition falls short now, you won’t grow tall later, and your body will lack some essential trace elements which aren’t good for health. Consider it a loan from me, pay it back when you grow up.” Qin Xue looked at the stubborn girl, truly at a loss with her.

She didn’t know if Ji Yu understood the trace elements she referred to. It’s just that inadequate nutrition truly affects physical development. She hoped she wouldn’t let herself and her brother miss out on nutrition due to momentary embarrassment.

Qin Xue wasn’t trying to condescend; it’s just that these two children might be Chu Molin’s siblings, and she should definitely help if she could.

Still, seeing Ji Yu like this, she wondered if she was being a bit too much, scary even.
