Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2327: Chapter 2321: Gathering Firewood

As for Qin Xue, she went to the herb field to find some herbs that could be used as marinade. She washed them and ground them into a paste to spread on the meat later. This way, the barbecued meat would be crispy on the outside and tender inside, incredibly fragrant.

Just thinking about the taste of barbecue made Qin Xue swallow her saliva. It had been a long time since she had it, and she really missed that flavor.

”Xue’er, I’m done processing it. What should I do next?” Chu Molin looked at his wife, lost in thought. He didn’t want to disturb her, but if he didn’t move on to the next steps soon, the meat wouldn’t taste good.

So, Chu Molin had no choice but to interrupt her thoughts and ask her. They didn’t have such good conditions before; they used to just put a bit of salt on and grill it. Now that his wife was talking about making a marinade, he of course waited for her instructions before proceeding.

”Just spread this evenly on the meat, marinate it for about ten minutes, and then grill it.” Qin Xue handed the container she was holding to Chu Molin. Actually, the best marinating time should be around half an hour, but since her sister and the others might be looking for them later, they had no choice but to shorten the marinating time.

”Alright.” Chu Molin looked at the container holding the marinade. Wasn’t this the tool his wife used for grinding herbs? No wonder it looked familiar to him; he had used this tool before to help his wife grind herbs.

Seeing it now wasn’t surprising, but it felt a bit odd to be reusing the same tool for different purposes.

Chu Molin didn’t mind. Since it was given to him by his wife, it was to be used. Following Qin Xue’s instructions, Chu Molin spread the paste, and a faint aroma mingled with the scent of herbs. It smelled refreshing and would surely taste even better.

No wonder Qin Xue was so eager; now, Chu Molin was also looking forward to tasting the barbecued flavor. It would indeed be delightful to eat.

He decided not to think about anything else and continued with his task. Only by finishing it quickly could he eat the meat sooner.

Moreover, he had gone through a lot of trouble to catch it, thinking about it made him crave it more.

The Red Snake watched eagerly, hoping it would get a share later. It didn’t understand why Xue Ling had no desire for it and had left.

The Red Snake didn’t know that Xue Ling went to cultivate, aiming to enhance its cultivation, so Xue Ling didn’t let the Red Snake approach it. Otherwise, it would get internally injured if disturbed.

This was the reason it didn’t want the Red Snake close, as it was a threat to its cultivation. After all, it wasn’t the same species and wouldn’t understand the matters involved in gaining power and growing through cultivation.

Moreover, it was a critical moment for Xue Ling, allowing no room for error.

”Chu Molin, I’ll go gather some firewood. You carry on.” Qin Xue saw that Chu Molin was handling things and realized there was no firewood, wondering how they’d grill the meat later, so she decided to collect some firewood first. This way, once she was done, the other side would be ready too.

”Don’t wander too far. Just pick some over there.” Chu Molin pointed towards the bamboo forest, indicating there were some burnable materials there. Picking some from there would suffice; he wouldn’t feel assured if she went too far.

”Okay, I got it.” Qin Xue didn’t go against Chu Molin’s wishes. After all, this was still her space, so going there didn’t matter much. To ease his worry, she didn’t venture far.

Qin Xue went to the bamboo forest, looking at the lush green forest. She wondered whether there were bamboo shoots inside. Since it was always spring here, there should be some.
