Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2309: Chapter 2303: Insatiable Greed

”Hmm, sure, if you can teach me, I’ll give you a big red envelope.” If Ouyang Ziyu learned how to cook, she could save the money she spent eating out. Although she’d still need to buy groceries, it was much cheaper than eating out. Saving quite a bit of money this way and using it to thank Qin Xue as her teacher with a red envelope seemed just right.

Ouyang Ziyu felt she was so clever, having thought of such an idea. She couldn’t help but admire her own mind.

”Then I’ll look forward to you honoring me after you learn. Just thinking about it fills me with hope for the future.” Qin Xue drank some water to moisten her throat and looked at Ouyang Ziyu with a smile.

”That’s a must. Just wait, I will definitely do well.” Ouyang Ziyu had her own pride. If she wanted to learn, no matter how difficult, she would overcome it and master it.

”Ambitious, I support you,” Qin Jiale said with a smile. When her sister was in her confinement period, she helped her mother cook and slowly learned it herself. So, for Ouyang Ziyu, it shouldn’t be too hard to learn, unless she’s the kind of person who can’t even step into a kitchen, or she’s just a disaster in there. Otherwise, learning to cook is really quite easy.

It seems like the Qins are all smart; they all manage to learn things easily, even Qin Yu, the grown man.

Even though his cooking isn’t as delicious as the sisters’, it’s not bad either. In the past year or so, he managed the shop while studying. Naturally, his daily meals were prepared by himself, so after watching the sisters’ discussion, he simply glanced at Ouyang Ziyu without joining in on their conversation.

Chu Molin just watched them chat from the sidelines without interrupting. He felt that his wife looked most vibrant at times like this, so he didn’t want to disappoint her.

Regarding such matters, Chu Molin thought it was quite good. After all, the more the merrier.

A family quietly together is quite nice. With the children playing on the side, and the adults chatting and laughing, such a scene is the warmest.

This is the kind of happiness many people long for; there’s truth in the saying that a simple life is a blessing.

Once the heart starts to change its original intention, it becomes greedy, and it no longer feels satisfied, which will drive people to seek more. But the method isn’t always one that can be grasped in a single attempt, and not everyone will find the right way to obtain it. This is why there are thieves and crimes happening in the world.

The root of all this is the dissatisfaction within people’s hearts. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be the saying: the heart of a man is never content, like a snake swallowing an elephant. This vividly illustrates the insatiable nature of human desire. Many people understand that some things shouldn’t be done, but they always hold a mindset of luck, thinking just this once, and it’ll definitely go unnoticed.

After not being caught this once, they will think, last time I wasn’t caught, so this time isn’t going to be either. Then comes the third time, and so on. Desires deepen, their courage grows, leading to a change in people’s hearts, and ultimately, they turn bad.

Then, when one person does it, another sees it and thinks, if he can, why can’t I? Under this mindset, that person will follow the first person’s path. Thus, the number of bad people increases, but they don’t realize that evil will never prevail over good, a timeless law unchanged for thousands of years. No matter how lucky you think you are to escape once or twice, you will eventually be caught in the end.
