“But I really can’t eat.” An Hao had no appetite at all, she couldn’t stomach anything.

“Well, let me prepare something different for you, try and eat that, alright?” Qin Xue sniffed the food in the bowl and asked An Hao.

“Alright.” An Hao saw that Qin Xue even brought her child along to visit and was insisting on her eating, but herself couldn’t. With this in mind, she felt kind of guilty.

Therefore, when Qin Xue offered to prepare something else, she didn’t have the heart to refuse Qin Xue’s kindness.

“Xiaoqiao, you hold the baby for a bit. Zhaozi, you take me to the kitchen.” Qin Xue handed the baby to her sister-in-law, picked up the bowl and asked Li Zhao to take her to the kitchen.

“Sure.” Both of them had no objections.

Li Zhao didn’t even question it; he immediately took Qin Xue to the kitchen without any further discussion as it was for the wellbeing of An Hao and the baby.

“You can go out and get me a crucian carp, I need it.” Thinking about it, since An Hao didn’t like these greasy foods, forcing her to eat would be pointless. So, Qin Xue decided to try a different approach to get An Hao to eat.

“An’an said fish is too fishy, she doesn’t want to eat it.” Li Zhao also knew that eating fish was good, but after An Hao had tried once and didn’t like it, they stopped buying fish for her to eat.

“It’s fine. You can just buy it and bring it back, I’ll figure out the rest.” Qin Xue didn’t abandon her plan, insisting Li Zhao buy the crucian carp.

“An Hao, you should rest a bit. I heard from my sister-in-law that you shouldn’t cry during the confinement period, or else your eyes will be uncomfortable and will tear up later.” Chu Xiaoqiao, having spent time with Qin Xue, had learned some life tips. So, seeing An Hao in this state, she knew her mood must be bad.

Understandably, wouldn’t a hungry child cry? Especially a little one who can’t eat anything else, it would cry out of hunger.

“I know, but I feel bad for the baby. I’m useless, not even producing milk for the baby to drink.” An Hao didn’t understand why she alone was not lactating.

She was eating well and had consumed a lot of soups, but there was still no milk.

“Even if you feel bad, you have to pay attention to your own health. If you get sick, wouldn’t the child be even worse off?” Chu Xiaoqiao didn’t know how to comfort An Hao.

Fang Xiu wanted to comfort her, but being mute and without Qin Xue to translate, she couldn’t communicate her ideas to An Hao. So, she could only worry from the sidelines.

“Mom, carry.” Seeing that his mother had not left, and not being able to see the baby, Jingtao pulled at his mother intending to go up to An Hao’s bed.

“Taotao, you’re too small to carry the baby.” Chu Xiaoqiao was scared, Jingtao was so young, there was no way he could carry a baby. Even though the baby wasn’t that large, Jingtao was still only a one and a half-year-old child, it would be impossible to let him carry the baby.

“Carry, cry.” Jingtao looked sympathetically at An Hao.

“Taotao, I know you feel bad for your sister, but you’re too young.” An Hao saw Jingtao’s expression, and didn’t have the heart to refuse. However, both children were too young and no one would feel comfortable about it.

“An Hao, why don’t you let him hold the baby for a while, with me supporting the baby on the side?” Fang Xiu showed An Hao the note she had written.

“Would that work?” An Hao hesitated.

“If that’s the case, I think it could work. Let Taotao sit on your bed, place the baby on his lap and with Fang Xiu here to supervise, there should be no problem. They are both children, who knows, they might even understand each other.” Chu Xiaoqiao saw the note that Fang Xiu had written.
