“Yes, we’ve come to an understanding. Xiu has forgiven me.” Jing Xin smiled at his wife.

“That’s good. You two need to communicate and make decisions together from now on. Be more cautious, Jing Xin. You can’t make such basic mistakes again. You are supposed to be a soldier, but you gave someone a loophole so easily. What a joke! Glad to see you two reconciled. I can finally let out a sigh of relief. I just want everyone around me to be happy.” Qin Xue looked relieved. She was happy to see the couple back to their original harmonious state, which finally eased her worries.

“Alright, I won’t do it again. What are you doing?” Jing Xin looked at Qin Xue busying herself in the kitchen and asked.

“Making breakfast. It’s almost noon and we haven’t eaten yet. Aren’t you hungry?” Qin Xue asked. She made some buns with her mom this morning, but the porridge cooled down. She needed to steam it hot again. Meanwhile, she was preparing a couple of dishes to go with the porridge since porridge alone didn’t make a full meal.

“Do you need any help?” Jing Xin asked Qin Xue.

“You can help Chu Molin. And then help me tidy up the house.” Qin Xue said while planning their chores. It seemed like they had done nothing all day, but the day was half gone. Time flew so fast that it reminded her of the song “Where has all the time gone?”.

Time really flies. Qin Xue realized that she had already been here for a year. Time slicks way without you knowing.

“OK, I’ll go and help older brother first. Let me know if there’s anything else you need.” Jing Xin felt good now that he had a loving wife.

“Of course. This is my house, you can’t be slacking off.” Qin Xue responded without missing a beat. Today was so busy, nobody could afford to be lazy.

“Xiu, could you please wash these for me? I need them later.” Qin Xue handed a bowl of jelly ears to Fang Xiu for washing. She could wash them sitting down, it wouldn’t be too tiring.

Fang Xiu nodded and took the bowl. If something was within her capability, she never declined. She would surely help if she could. She recalled doing everything by herself when pregnant with Jingtao, but now things were much better. She had others around to take care of her. There was nothing she was not grateful for.

“Xiu, do you plan to follow me back to the Imperial Capital or go back to S Province with Jing Xin?” Qin Xue asked Fang Xiu while stirring the dish in the wok.

Now that the couple had made up, she couldn’t just take Fang Xiu away without a word. She needed to get the consent from everyone involved. Otherwise, Fang Xiu might think she didn’t want them to stay together.

“Go back to the Imperial Capital with me? Are you sure?” Qin Xue looked at Fang Xiu and pointed at herself. Now that they had reconciled, Fang Xiu should be staying with her husband, right? Was Jing Xin okay with them going back to the Imperial Capital together? Qin Xue was a little puzzling over what Fang Xiu was thinking.

Fang Xiu noticed Qin Xue’s reaction, she dried her hands and pointed to her own lips, showing Qin Xue what she was trying to say through lip reading.

“I’m heavily pregnant and I don’t want any and anything unexpected to happen. If I return to S Province, Jing Yuan will definitely show up again. I don’t want any interaction with her. I just want my baby to be safe. That’s all I care about.” Fang Xiu shared her thoughts with Qin Xue.

“Did Jing Xin agree? Have you talked to him about this?” Qin Xue asked.

“No, I didn’t have a chance to. I’ll make sure he understands everything. After almost losing our baby last time, I have realized my fear. I can’t tolerate any uncertainties, so I’m going back to the Imperial Capital with you.” Fang Xiu had no doubts that Jing Xin would understand her decision, all for the sake of the baby in her belly.
