Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 867: Chapter 861: Dad An and Mom An_1

After leaving Qin Xue’s home, An Hao went to Xiao Qi’s house not far away. Xiao Qi has been disturbed recently because he constantly dreams of Chu Beiying. He doesn’t eat or sleep well and has a pile of things to worry about. After An Hao arrived, he gave her a key to his house before heading off to work. He suggested she visit Qin Xue if she got bored, instead of staying home alone.

Given that Xiao Qi was not home, An Hao took her bag, Chu Xiaoqiao, and went to Qin Xue’s house, planning to stay there. This arrangement was a good one for now. After speaking to Qin Xue, An Hao realized that her previous thoughts were too risky. Continuing down that path could affect the development of the baby in her belly.

She now felt relieved that she had discussed the matter with Qin Xue. No matter what, her parents’ issues were their own. As a grown daughter, and now a mother herself, she realized that meddling too much might not be helpful. Hence, she decided to stop poking her nose into their affairs.

“Hello, this is An Ruge. Who are you looking for?” An Ruge was not working today. He planned to accompany his wife to the hospital for surgery. The phone rang just as he was about to leave the house.

“Dad, it’s me, An’an.” It took An Hao a few moments before she could speak after hearing her father’s voice.

“An’an, is something wrong? Don’t worry. I’m about to take your mother to the hospital for surgery.” Hearing his daughter’s voice, An Ruge thought she was calling to urge them to hurry to the hospital. So, his initial response was to reassure her.

...
“Dad, that’s not what I meant. Listen to me, I think you should keep the baby.” An Hao was unsure how to exactly broach the topic with her parents. But after hearing her father’s remarks, she understood that her parents did love her. Otherwise, they would not go as far as aborting the baby because of her opinion. She thought it might still not be too late to stop them. The implication from her father’s words was that they had not gone to the hospital yet.

“Ruge, who is on the phone? Don’t talk for too long. We need to leave for the hospital.” Xiao Xiang’er came out in her coat and saw her husband on the phone. She reminded him of their scheduled surgery appointment. Although they were reluctant to let the baby go, their daughter did not want it, so they decided not to have the child. They knew they owed her a lot, and they wanted to do what would make her happy.

An Ruge stood frozen after hearing An Hao’s words. He didn’t hear his wife. He stood fixed, holding the phone, not saying a word.

“Ruge, what are you thinking about?” Xiao Xiang’er saw her husband standing there, not saying a word, not moving, not knowing who was on the other end of the line.

“Uh, Xiang’er, what were you saying?” An Ruge asked her, coming back to his senses after his wife’s call.

“I said, finish your call quickly. We should go to the hospital soon. Otherwise, the doctor will leave.” Xiao Xiang’er looked at her husband, clueless about what he was thinking.

An Hao heard her parents’ conversation on the other end of the call. Suddenly, tears streamed down her face. She realized that she had been wrong. Although her parents rarely spent time with her, they genuinely loved her. At this moment, An Hao felt sure about her parents’ affection for her.

“Xiang’er, it’s An’an on the phone.” An Ruge told his wife.

“An’an, is she okay? What did she say? Give me the phone. Let me talk to her.” When Xiao Xiang’er heard it was her daughter’s call, she went to take the phone from her husband’s hand.

“An’an, it’s your mother. Are you okay?” Xiao Xiang’er didn’t expect her daughter would call. She shared the same thoughts as her husband, assuming their daughter had called to hasten them to the hospital for the procedure. She knew their daughter’s motives, but some things were not as straightforward to deal with, even for her, Xiao Xiang’er. First came their allegiance to their country before home. This was what she and her husband had always lived by.
