Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 857: Chapter 851: Greed_1

After heating up the food, Qin Xue left Xue Ling alone and went to take a shower before taking care of the children.

Qin Xue looked at the children sleeping beside her, gently touching their faces. These children couldn’t be away from their mother for too long, otherwise they would feel insecure. Thus she presumed they must have cried terribly today, implying that she had failed in her duties as a mother.

“Be good, babies. Mommy will certainly spend more time with you, but if I pass my exams, I may not be able to be with you as often,” Qin Xue said with mixed feelings. She wanted to spend more time with them, but remembered that she had an examination, and she would have to start working if she passed. She felt helpless for not knowing how to strike a balance.

Today’s experience made it clear to her that the healthcare system of Hua Country was in dire need of skilled medical personnel. This explained why Chu Molin could easily obtain a position for her. Once Qin Xue passed her examination, she would not be serving ordinary patients, but soldiers in the front line.

Unable to find a solution, Qin Xue stopped thinking and tucked a child under each arm, herself in the middle. Both children were able to sleep by her side. Perhaps sensing their mother was nearby, the children were quiet, only whimpering when they were hungry or needed a diaper change. Relieved that nothing serious had happened, Qin Xue fell asleep.

The next morning, before Qin Xue woke up, the babies were already awake. Both turned their heads to watch their mother sleeping. Yu Chen, as a true infant, didn’t comprehend anything.

...
However, seeing the dark circles under her eyes, Yu Ze felt aching at heart. He assumed that his mother must have been exhausted yesterday, otherwise, her eyes wouldn’t be so tired-looking. Being too small and young, he felt helpless and wished he could share her burdens.

Yu Ze heard the conversation between his mother and the Fox Fairy. He didn’t blame his mother for having no time for them. He understood she was seeking better living for them and trying to help their father. He hoped this life, his parents would love each other till the end, unlike his previous life where his parents were a disgruntled couple.

“Oh, Yu Ze, you’re awake.” Feeling something touching her face, Qin Xue opened her eyes and met her son’s pure gaze. She had an indescribable feeling, as if what she saw was different between her first and second glances.

Yu Ze just stared at Qin Xue, not crying or fussing, even breaking into a smile.

“Baby, are you happy to see Mommy? Was it frightening without me around yesterday? I promise I’ll try not to leave you alone for so long again.” Qin Xue gently pressed her face to Yu Ze’s, whispering lovingly.

The touch from his mother made Yu Ze blissfully squint, basking in her warmth. The love he had longed for in his previous life, which he could never obtain, was now effortlessly given to him. Such love was a rarity for him as his birth was not desired by his parents in his previous life. In this life, his parents loved each other deeply, and he was a symbol of their love, receiving the affection he craved.

However, Yu Ze was struggling between relief and melancholy. Yet he chose to cherish the current happiness and let go of the past sorrow.
