Global Grave Digging: My Reward Increased Ten Thousand Times

47: The final mission is completed! (More to come!)The old man was startled, turned around, and looked at the newcomers vigilantly.

”Who are you? How did you get in?”

”We are here to rescue you,” Lin Fei said concisely.

”It’s already chaos outside. That old bastard Town Mayor has deceived everyone.”

Lin Fei briefly recounted what happened in the air-raid shelter, how he had taken down the Zombie Giant Infant Lss, and the photos that dropped.

After hearing this, Dr. Alan was first extremely stunned, then furious.

”What did you say! That monster is the Town Mayor’s offspring, and he actively lured you there! Heavens! That damn old scoundrel! He was actually keeping a monster in captivity!”

”He even tricked me into helping him research an antidote here.”

Dr. Alan took a deep breath, his eyes becoming firm: ”There are two options now. First, leave here, but if the Town Mayor knows his child is dead, he might immediately flee, making it hard for the people from the Metropolis to catch him. Second, we go back together, apprehend him, hand him over to the Metropolis, and end this tragedy once and for all!”

Immediately, two System choices appeared for Lin Fei.

【Choice One: Evacuate immediately.】

【Choice Two: Arrest the Town Mayor.】

Since he was already here, it would be a pity not to complete the final task.

”Of course it’s the second one,” Lin Fei said. ”I’m a person of justice.”

”Good! I knew you weren’t ordinary people!” A flash of admiration crossed Dr. Alan’s eyes.

”The Town Mayor has likely undergone an even more terrifying mutation. However, I just happened to develop a secret medicine specifically for such powerful mutants! You came at just the right time!”

He picked up a syringe filled with a thick blue liquid from the laboratory bench and handed it to Lin Fei.

”This is 【Purifier - X】, which can directly destroy the mutant’s core structure and cause it to completely lose its power! This might be the only way to deal with the Town Mayor!”

Lin Fei took the secret medicine and weighed it in his hand.

【You have obtained a key item. The Town Mayor has subsequent plot points and cannot be killed; you need to use the injection to capture him.】

【Unlocked the final task for this trial world!】

【Task Objective: Capture the Town Mayor.】

【Task Reward: Golden Treasure Chest (Bound) x1.】

At the same time, Zhou Kai’s team also received the task.

However, they were not the main contributors, so they only received participation rewards. If they could follow through and complete the task, each of them would receive a Silver Treasure Chest.

Lin Fei narrowed his eyes. It seemed that some of the later levels might be related to the subsequent zombie world.

”Let’s go. Time to settle the score with the Town Mayor.”

Everyone took the elevator back to the surface.

Arriving at the Police Station again, when the Town Mayor saw Dr. Alan returning safely with Lin Fei, the fake smile on his face instantly froze, and a hint of panic flashed in his eyes.

”Dr. Alan? How did you get here?” the Town Mayor forced himself to remain calm.

”Old man, stop pretending!” Dr. Alan pointed at him angrily. ”We know all about your conspiracy! You kept monsters in captivity, harmed the townspeople, and even tried to trick everyone into going to their deaths!”

The Town Mayor’s expression changed drastically, and he subconsciously took a step back.

”I don’t know what you are talking about! You must have stayed in the mental hospital for too long and gone senile!” the Town Mayor tried to quibble.

”Your son, that giant infant monster, has already been taken care of by us,” Lin Fei said coldly.

”What?! Ah!!!”

The Town Mayor, as if struck by lightning, suddenly raised his head.

His bloodshot eyes stared fixedly at Lin Fei.

”Outrageous! How dare you kill it?! Kill my child?!”

”So you admit that it was your child,” Lin Fei said.

”Roar!!!”

A roar that didn’t sound human erupted from the Town Mayor’s throat!

His body began to expand rapidly, his clothes tore, his skin turned into tough gray-black, and his muscles bulged.

His bones cracked and popped, and his entire body grew to nearly three meters tall.

He turned into a hideous and terrifying monster.

【Infected Tyrant Lv7 (Final Boss)】

”You! All of you will die today!!!” The mutated Town Mayor’s voice became rough and violent.

He stomped his foot, and the hard floor tiles cracked.

Then, he charged towards Lin Fei.

”Hmph!”

Lin Fei didn’t dodge or evade; he clenched his right fist and threw a punch to meet the charging Infected Tyrant!

Bang!!!

The two fists, one large and one small, collided violently!

A shockwave exploded, kicking up dust everywhere!

Stumble, stumble, stumble!

The Infected Tyrant’s huge body was actually knocked back repeatedly, his arm trembling uncontrollably, his eyes filled with disbelief.

He felt as if he had crashed into a mountain!

”Not bad strength, probably around thirty or forty tons. Pity, it’s still not enough.”

Lin Fei shook his hand; he had used less than one-tenth of his strength in that punch.

The Infected Tyrant roared repeatedly and lunged again.

His thick arms, carrying a fierce wind that tore through the air, smashed madly towards Lin Fei.

Lin Fei didn’t dodge at all.

He easily blocked all of the Infected Tyrant’s attacks; it was painless and harmless.

”Get on your knees.”

Lin Fei executed a spinning whip kick, hitting the Infected Tyrant’s leg bend, causing the latter to immediately stumble and kneel on the ground.

His knees hit the ground, shattering the stone slabs.

”How dare you humiliate me!”

The Infected Tyrant stood up again and lunged over.

”Humiliating you, what does that have to do with you?”

Lin Fei fought while berating him.

Subjecting him to dual torture, both mental and physical.

He seized the gap in the Infected Tyrant’s punches and closed in.

His right hand shot out like lightning, grabbing the Infected Tyrant’s wrist.

Then, using force from his waist, he executed a shoulder throw!

Boom!

The nearly three-meter-tall massive body was forcefully swung by Lin Fei and slammed heavily onto the ground, creating a huge crater in the floor!

Immediately after, Lin Fei violently kicked his head with a big foot.

And the few elite monsters and lords controlled by Lin Mengzi also beat up the fallen Town Mayor/Infected Tyrant.

Soon, the Infected Tyrant’s health bar was depleted, but he didn’t die.

Instead, he became dizzy.

”This is a mechanic!”

Lin Fei shook his head and took out the 【Purifier - X】 given by Dr. Alan.

He stabbed it fiercely into the Infected Tyrant’s chest!

Sizzle—

As the blue liquid was injected, the Infected Tyrant let out a shrill, miserable scream, his massive body rapidly shrinking like a deflating balloon.

Subsequently, he actually transformed back into the original Town Mayor’s appearance, collapsed on the ground, yet he could still continue muttering.

”I’m just a father who wanted to resurrect his son. What did I do wrong!”

Dr. Alan: ”Your son is your son, but aren’t other people’s children also children?”

The Town Mayor said: ”I didn’t expect it to turn out like that either. Besides, if I didn’t feed it periodically, when it went berserk, it would only eat more.”

This old thing, after committing a wrong, actually felt aggrieved himself.

Did he think a single phrase like ’I didn’t expect it to turn out like that?’ could absolve his sins?

What a freak!

Compared to his son who was a giant infant in form, this old thing was a true giant infant in mind!

【You defeated the final Boss - Infected Tyrant, obtained 8000 experience points.】

【Final hidden task complete!】

【Obtained reward, Golden Treasure Chest (Bound) x1.】

Golden light shone, and a gorgeous Golden Treasure Chest appeared in front of Lin Fei, Lin Mengzi, and Xu Zhengyang respectively.

At the same time, a soft silver light also appeared on Zhou Kai and the others, each obtaining a Silver Treasure Chest.

”Brother Fei is mighty!!” Zhou Kai and the others cheered, their faces overflowing with excitement and joy.

Just then, the roar of propellers came from the sky.

A black military helicopter slowly descended, the cabin door opened, and a rope ladder was lowered.

The extraction point had appeared.

”It’s the Metropolis’s aircraft!”

Dr. Alan looked at Lin Fei: ”Thank you, young people. The nightmare of the small town can finally end.”

”Let’s board the aircraft,” Lin Fei nodded and was the first to grab the rope ladder.

Everyone boarded the helicopter one after another, leaving behind this small town filled with death and despair.
