Global Grave Digging: My Reward Increased Ten Thousand Times

34: Entering the townLin Mengzi smiled: ”Indeed! Having the map makes things much more convenient, but it seems we still need to collect the map fragments dropped here to find Dr. Alan.”

”Boss, what should we do now? Head straight into town?” Xu Zhengyang asked, holding his assault rifle and vigilantly observing his surroundings.

Lin Fei cast his gaze toward the town: ”We go straight in, gather some intelligence and items, and then go wipe out those few bosses.”

”Taking out elite monsters and bosses always yields rewards.”

”Alright, Boss!” Xu Zhengyang agreed, knowing Lin Fei’s strength.

Teaming up with Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi meant efficiency came first.

The three of them moved immediately, maintaining a combat formation as they crept toward the town quickly and cautiously.

Lin Fei walked in the lead; his powerful sensory abilities allowed him to detect potential dangers in advance.

Lin Mengzi was in the middle, having already summoned five Counter-Strike undead.

Xu Zhengyang was responsible for bringing up the rear and guarding the flanks.

The dirt road in the countryside was bumpy and uneven, covered in dried mud and unidentified stains.

Occasionally, scattered bones and gnawed animal carcasses could be seen along the roadside; the blood had dried, yet clusters of green bottle flies still swarmed around them.

Soon, they arrived outside the town.

”Hiss—hiss—groan—groan—”

Just as they were preparing to enter, several teeth-gritting roars emanated from the cornfield nearby.

Immediately after, three shambling figures stumbled out.

They were three zombies wearing tattered farmer’s clothes, their skin a sickly, grayish-blue.

Their eyes were cloudy and bulging, drool and bits of flesh hung from their mouths, and they lunged toward the three with claws outstretched.

Their speed was not fast, but their movements were filled with primal aggression.

”Watch out!” Xu Zhengyang let out a low shout and raised his gun to fire.

His gun was equipped with a silencer, so he didn’t fear exposure.

Pew-pew-pew!

The bullets hit, but the Zombie Town monsters clearly had terrifying defensive capabilities.

Six or seven bullets weren’t enough to kill them.

Xu Zhengyang used the standard Mozambique Drill: two shots to the chest, one to the head.

But for these zombies, even four or five bullets penetrating their skulls didn’t do much.

”I’ll handle it.” Lin Fei did not use any Spell.

His figure flickered, and he teleported in front of the leading zombie.

Splat!

Lin Fei threw a simple punch, and the air emitted a dull, explosive boom.

That zombie’s body instantly burst apart like a large watermelon hit by a speeding truck.

Because of the experience of crushing Wang Defa’s skull last time and getting his hands covered in grease, this time Lin Fei wore a pair of leather gloves.

【Killed Ordinary Infected, gained 100 Experience Points.】

【Endless Source passive activated, Spell Power increased by 1.】

”That’s a lot of Experience Points!” Lin Fei’s eyes lit up.

His current Spell Power had also reached over 50 points.

Taking out the people from the Scorpion Gang had also earned him quite a bit of Spell Power.

Immediately after, without even looking at the results, Lin Fei spun around and delivered a sweeping kick.

Bang!

The other two zombies were kicked in half at the waist; their upper and lower bodies went spinning through the air, landed on the ground, twitched a few times, and then stopped moving.

【Killed Ordinary Infected, gained 100 Experience Points.】

【Killed Ordinary Infected, gained 100 Experience Points.】

The entire process was swift and clean, filled with a sense of overwhelming power.

Experience Points were settled immediately, while killing coins could only be settled upon extraction.

Xu Zhengyang’s hand holding the gun froze; he had originally thought they would at least need to use holy water and precise shots to deal with these things, but it turned out the Boss had insta-killed them with his bare hands.

Absolute power!

Too terrifying!

This is simply a humanoid Vicious Beast!

It’s like he’s cheating, isn’t it!

Xu Zhengyang felt the thrill of having a powerful backer, and at the same time, his awe of Lin Fei deepened a few more degrees.

Lin Mengzi seemed much calmer; she had long been aware of Lin Fei’s strength.

With a gentle wave of her hand, wisps of black energy from the Void Realm merged into her body.

【Soul Siphon: Absorbed Soul fragments, Spell Power increased by 3.】

【Current Spell Power: 185 points.】

Although it wasn’t much, it added up.

These corpses could also serve as reinforcements for her undead army.

”Rise.”

The three corpses that had been shattered were reassembled by the black energy, combining together to become Lin Mengzi’s new subordinates.

”Ha! Sister, later when we help you take down elite monsters and bosses, let’s see if we can raise them too.”

”Mhm.” Lin Mengzi nodded with a smile.

”Let’s go, up the tower.” Lin Fei led the way toward the watchtower on the outskirts of the town.

The abandoned watchtower was built of wood, long since rotted and creaking, as if it could collapse at any moment.

The platform at the top of the tower was narrow and covered in dust and bird droppings.

The three climbed to the top, looking down from a high vantage point, the entire view of Zombie Town laid out before them.

This was different from looking at a map; they could see the town’s appearance more intuitively.

The town was not large, typical European and American rural style, with low houses and narrow streets.

In the center of the town was a Gothic church with a towering spire.

Around the church seemed to be a small square, where many zombies were currently wandering.

On the streets of the town, the number of zombies was higher than imagined, roughly estimated to be at least several hundred.

Most were ordinary zombies, but there were also some special infected with distinctly different body types and strange ways of moving.

For example, there was a long-tongued zombie whose belly was bloated as if pregnant, constantly making retching sounds, spitting out a tongue several meters long and then sucking it back in.

And another was a thin, long-limbed zombie crawling on all fours like a spider.

”Hiss! There really are a lot of zombies here!” Xu Zhengyang gasped.

”With so many zombies, relying solely on bullets probably won’t be enough!”

It takes an average of over a dozen bullets to kill one zombie; wanting to wipe out the zombies here would probably require thousands of rounds of ammunition.

And ordinary zombies are already hard enough to kill; elite monsters and bosses are probably even harder!

Of course, this difficulty was only for him.

”Mhm.” Lin Fei nodded, scanning with a sharp gaze.

”Besides the zombies, we also need to be careful of other teams.”

Just as he finished speaking, a few sporadic gunshots rang out from the direction of the town’s other entrance, breaking the previous silence.

Lin Mengzi pointed toward the direction the gunshots came from: ”Someone over there has engaged in a firefight with the zombies.”

Lin Fei looked in the direction she pointed, and sure enough, he saw several figures at the western entrance of the town, fiercely battling the surging zombies.

”Is it Blackwater and the others, or the Fifth Squad?” Xu Zhengyang asked, frowning.

Lin Fei squinted, trying to see more clearly, but the distance was too great, and with the heavy fog, he could only see blurred figures and the muzzle flashes.

”Can’t tell for now.”

”Let’s do a quick search here to see if there are any clues or items, then we’ll head straight to the right side of the town, to that big monster in the river!”
