Global Grave Digging: My Reward Increased Ten Thousand Times

36: Elite zombie! Chainsaw butcherOn his side, Lin Fei simply searched a few houses.

Aside from a few thousand killing coins and some useless odds and ends.

The biggest harvest, unexpectedly, was a few pages of a diary found in the lining of a stained ledger.

The handwriting in the diary was sloppy and terrified.

It seemed to have been written in extreme panic.

”October 17th, sunny turning to overcast. No, the sky has always been gray. Those things are getting more and more numerous; the town can’t hold out... I saw John get... Oh god...”

”October 19th, they... they are mutating! Faster, stronger... Some even retained a bit of intelligence? It’s too terrifying... Dr. Allen’s research must be sent out...”

”October 21st, we hid in the church... but it’s not safe here either... The outside is full of roaring sounds... The mayor decided to drive that pickup truck and take people to the Police Station five kilometers away on the other side of the river to seek help. If that doesn’t work, we’ll hold it as a stronghold; he said the prison there is the most secure... Will he succeed? May God bless him...”

”The mayor? What does this trial mean? Does it even include puzzle-solving!”

Lin Fei had the feeling of playing a large-scale live-action escape room.

”However, according to this note, perhaps there are still living people there?”

Lin Fei raised an eyebrow and put the diary away.

It seems that this town was not a Zombie Town from the very beginning.

The zombie parasitic virus also broke out slowly.

And someone once tried to survive; there might even be survivors.

That Police Station prison is a place worth paying attention to.

Lin Fei looked at the map in his mind; the distance was not far, five kilometers, but there should be quite a few zombies along the way.

”Boss, did you find anything?” Xu Zhengyang’s voice came from outside.

”Found some potentially useful information.” Lin Fei walked out of the house.

”How about you guys?”

The undead summoned by Lin Mengzi had already searched several houses, and she herself had harvested quite a few Soul fragments, her Spell strength steadily increasing, and she was in a good mood.

”About a hundred thousand plus in killing coin earnings, nothing special.”

”I had better luck here!” Xu Zhengyang held up a brightly colored, ancient-looking rattle-drum.

”Besides an antique worth 70,000 killing coins, I also found this in a safe. It’s a purple item! I just don’t know what it’s for.”

The rattle-drum looked just like an ordinary child’s toy.

A wooden handle, a small skin-covered drum surface.

A pellet hung on each side, which should make a ”thump-thump” sound when shaken.

But the item description only showed the name [Nursery Rhyme Rattle-drum (Purple Ultra-Rare)], and the effect column had three big question marks.

”Keep it safe; a purple item is definitely not simple. It might be a key item or a key to dealing with a specific monster.” Lin Fei advised based on his years of experience watching gaming videos.

Purple is already considered a very good grade!

The three of them regrouped, tidied up a bit, and then stopped delaying, following the map’s instructions as they moved quickly towards the west side of the town, which was the direction closer to the river.

According to the map markings, a powerful Boss for this area should be entrenched in the river or on the riverbank.

And killing the boss would yield some rewards on the spot.

If it were other teams, they might avoid the big monster.

But for Lin Fei, this was his hunting ground.

Lin Fei was still walking at the very front.

Lin Mengzi’s eight undead spread out in a fan shape, acting as mobile sentries and cannon fodder.

Passing through several abandoned streets, the sound of battle came from ahead.

Suddenly!

”Oh my god, what kind of terrifying monster is this!!”

”Hold it! Quickly, hold it!”

”Out of ammo! I’m reloading, help me hold it for a while!”

Lin Fei’s eyes narrowed, and he made a gesture; the three immediately slowed their pace and approached silently.

Turning the corner, the scene before them made Xu Zhengyang gasp.

He saw three figures with their backs against a broken low wall, desperately resisting an extremely terrifying monster!

Those three people were exactly the Fifth Squad they had met in the preparation space!

They were in a sorry state, covered in filthy blood and dust.

Their faces were filled with despair.

The middle-aged man leading them held a Malay sword, locked in close-quarters combat with a normal zombie.

The other two young members were holding assault rifles, shooting in vain.

And besieging them were not just seven or eight normal zombies, but also a terrifying existence that seemed to have walked out of a nightmare!

That was a giant humanoid monster over two and a half meters tall.

Its body was bloated and fat, wearing a dirty, greasy butcher’s apron, with a coarse burlap sack over its head, revealing only two eyes flashing with crazy red light.

Most chilling of all was that its right hand was carrying a buzzing, giant chainsaw covered in minced meat and blood!

”Elite monster! Chainsaw Butcher!” Xu Zhengyang exclaimed.

He had heard about the data on this kind of monster when he was at the security company.

The security company would summarize data, and in the past, when someone entered a zombie-type trial world, they had encountered this kind of terrifying monster.

But in their trials, this kind of monster was already the final boss.

Didn’t expect that here, it was actually an elite monster.

”This thing has thick skin and flesh, high attack power, and amazing recovery; it’s simply a nightmare in the trial!”

At this moment, the bullets from those two young members hit the Chainsaw Butcher.

They could only spark strings of fire and dust, unable to cause any effective damage at all.

”Hit the head! Hit its head!” The middle-aged captain roared, stabbing a knife through the eye socket of the zombie in front of him, then anxiously looked at the Chainsaw Butcher.

Bang bang bang!

A young member followed orders and poured all the remaining bullets onto the Chainsaw Butcher’s burlap-covered head.

The Chainsaw Butcher was hit by the dense bullets and retreated repeatedly, its head beaten into a bloody mess.

Subsequently, when their bullets ran out, the middle-aged captain jumped onto the monster’s back and fiercely stabbed the monster’s skull with his Malay sword.

Finally, with a thud, the chainsaw zombie fell to the ground.

”Did... did we kill it?” The young member panted, a glimmer of hope appearing on his face.

”Don’t relax!” The middle-aged captain had just shouted.

When he saw the fallen Chainsaw Butcher shake its head, the wound under the burlap sack bled for a while and then stopped.

Ten seconds later, it staggered to its feet again, letting out an angry roar, the chainsaw suddenly revved, emitting a violent ”zzzz” noise.

”How... how is that possible?!” The young member’s hope was completely shattered, and only despair remained in his eyes. ”It’s over! We’re dead...”

The middle-aged captain’s face was ashen, and he laughed miserably: ”Damn it! We shouldn’t have been greedy and come to this third level, and even chosen a dangerous trial!”

Seeing that the Chainsaw Butcher was about to rush up again and tear them to shreds.

Just at this critical moment!

A cold blue palm shadow seemed to appear out of thin air.

Carrying a bone-chilling cold, it silently imprinted on the Chainsaw Butcher’s massive back!

”Great Ice! Monument Breaking Hand!” Lin Fei’s figure appeared behind the Chainsaw Butcher like a ghost.

Crack—!!!

A sound like ice shattering rang out!

Visible frost spread rapidly from the palm print as the center, instantly covering the entire back of the Chainsaw Butcher!

Immediately after, a powerful and irresistible terrifying force erupted!

Boom!!!

The Chainsaw Butcher’s seemingly indestructible body, like an ice sculpture hit by a giant hammer, began to crack inch by inch from the back, instantly exploding into countless ice-blue fragments, mixed with dark red flesh tissues, scattered all over the ground!

That buzzing chainsaw fell to the ground!

[Killed Elite Infected - Chainsaw Butcher, obtained 1000 experience points.]

[Endless Source passive effect triggered, Spell strength increased by 10.]

[Obtained quest item: Map Fragment x1.]

Lin Mengzi raised her hand and absorbed the Soul energy.

[Soul Siphon: Absorbed Soul fragments, Spell strength increased by 1 point.]

[Current Spell strength is 202 points.]

Unfortunately, for the Epic class Lin Mengzi, no matter what monster it was, it was a uniform 1 point of Spell strength.

Perhaps if the class grade increases, she will be able to gain more, she guessed in her heart.

The whole scene instantly quieted down, leaving only the unconscious roaring of normal zombies.

Killed in one blow!

It didn’t even have time to let out a scream!

The three people from the Fifth Squad stared at the scene before them, dumbfounded, their mouths open wide enough to fit an egg.

The terrifying monster that had just made them extremely desperate and impossible to kill.

Was actually shattered by someone with a single slap?!

What kind of terrifying power is this?!

They stared blankly at Lin Fei, who was walking slowly towards them, their eyes filled with unbelievable shock and the joy of surviving a disaster.

”It’s you!” The middle-aged captain’s lips trembled, and for a moment he didn’t know what to say.

”Are you guys okay?”

”Thanks to your help, otherwise I’m afraid we would have already left this world.” The middle-aged captain smiled bitterly.

Lin Fei’s gaze fell on the scattered fragments on the ground, and he nodded at Lin Mengzi behind him.

Lin Mengzi understood, stepped forward, and lightly raised her fair hand.

Rich black energy surged from her palm, like living tentacles, quickly wrapping and gathering those scattered fragments and flesh!

Black light surged, and a complete, but with a colder and more evil aura, outline of the Chainsaw Butcher slowly condensed and formed in the black energy!

The original crazy red light was replaced by a ghostly blue.

The face under the burlap sack seemed to twist into an even more ferocious expression.

”Stand up,” Lin Mengzi said softly.

The newborn undead Chainsaw Butcher let out a low roar and picked up the chainsaw. At this moment, the chainsaw flickered with a ghostly blue luster, clearly already stronger.

He stood respectfully behind Lin Mengzi, and the foul odor on his body was gone.

In its place was a refreshing feeling.

[You have successfully enslaved the Elite Infected - Chainsaw Butcher!]

This act of raising the dead once again made the three people from the Fifth Squad’s eyes almost pop out.

What kind of ability is this again?!

Taking it out in one move wasn’t enough, you still have to turn the monster into your own subordinate?!

What kind of monsters are this young man and woman?!
