Survival in the Underground Palace: Get the instant kill skill at the beginning

5: Sausage caused a sensationAlthough the harvest was abundant, Liu Yang was not satisfied.

He didn’t know where to obtain the wood spirit stone needed to upgrade the wooden house, nor the gold spirit stone needed for the Spiritual Energy faucet.

The former could provide him with a safe resting place.

The latter should solve his drinking water problem.

Both were of utmost importance, leaving him no room to delay.

”If only a few more treasure boxes could drop.”

”I remember that last treasure box was dropped by a General Cockroach.”

”Do I have to fight elite monsters or bosses to get good drops?”

”The General Cockroach’s activity range is within a hundred meters of the nest. Perhaps I can search around and see if I can handle it then.”

Having made up his mind, Liu Yang no longer wasted time and continued to move forward.

【Dungeon Ant lv0: A common Dungeon Creature, with no special characteristics, easily dealt with by newcomers.】

Swish!

Hand up, knife down, cut in two.

For level 0 Dungeon Creatures, there was no need to activate the Second Kill skill.

【Congratulations on killing a Dungeon Ant, you have obtained 80g instant noodles x1.】

”Hmm, not bad. After killing more than ten monsters, I finally got food.”

He glanced back, silently estimating that Liu Yang was currently about a hundred meters away from the small wooden house.

”Was I being foolish?”

”I remember the small wooden house can be put away, right? Walking so far, am I going to walk back later?”

Suddenly, Liu Yang thought of something and immediately ran towards the small wooden house.

”Home Recall.”

Standing in front of the door, Liu Yang silently chanted in his heart.

As he issued the command, the small wooden house transformed into a ray of light and merged into Liu Yang’s wrist, becoming a key pattern.

With the small wooden house recalled, Liu Yang prepared to continue his actions.

He had walked nearly a hundred meters earlier but hadn’t found a Dungeon Cockroach Nest.

This time, he planned to explore in a different direction.

The place where Liu Yang was currently located was a circular hall, about 300 square meters.

Based on the direction the door faced, there was a passage on both the left and right sides of the hall.

The passage on the left was straight, spacious, and well-lit, so he prioritized exploring the left side.

The right side was different; looking ahead, it was less than 10 meters to a turn, and the passage was both narrow and dim.

Since the Dungeon Cockroach Nest wasn’t on the left, it should be on the right.

That is, if there wasn’t a passage next door.

Liu Yang gripped his steel knife and advanced cautiously.

There were three level 0 Dungeon Creatures in the first section of the passage, which he easily eliminated.

Squeak squeak squeak!

Approaching the corner, several subtle sounds suddenly came.

Listening carefully, the sound was very familiar, but this was the first time he had heard it in this Dungeon.

Before Liu Yang could react, a Dungeon Rat larger than a cat opened its mouth and bit towards his arm.

Looking at those sharp incisors, Liu Yang believed that if he was bitten, his arm would definitely be pierced through.

Without time to think, Liu Yang gripped his steel knife and swept it out with a backhand.

At the same time, he shouted, ”Activate Second Kill skill.”

【Second Kill skill successfully activated.】

Pfft!

The Dungeon Rat couldn’t dodge in time and was struck by the steel knife, leaving a long, thin wound on its body.

【You have inflicted a cut on the Dungeon Rat. The Dungeon Rat is injured. Due to the target’s level being too high, the Second Kill skill failed to trigger.】

Having failed in its sneak attack and been injured, the Dungeon Rat didn’t dare to act rashly, stopping not far away to confront Liu Yang, seemingly looking for a weakness in its opponent.

Meanwhile, Liu Yang also had the opportunity to carefully observe his opponent.

【Dungeon Rat lv3: Common creature in the Dungeon, fast speed, good at sneak attacks. Newcomers without some strength should avoid them if encountered. Initial Homes cannot withstand their sharp teeth.】

”Bad luck, it’s actually a level 3 creature.”

”My Second Kill skill is only level 0. The success rate of killing monsters three levels higher is only 40%.”

”It’s not a small chance, almost fifty-fifty. My luck is really something.”

While the Dungeon Rat was looking for an opportunity to strike, Liu Yang also stayed highly vigilant.

He didn’t think about escaping; even the small wooden house couldn’t block its bite, so where could he escape to?

40% chance. If it doesn’t work once, try twice. If twice doesn’t work, try three times.

If he really cut it that many times, even if the Second Kill skill didn’t trigger, the Dungeon Rat would probably die.

Strike while the iron is hot.

Liu Yang didn’t have the ability to find a strategic opportunity, so he just charged forward with his knife.

He kept swinging the steel knife, fully demonstrating the meaning of ’sloppy punches kill the master’.

【You have split the Dungeon Rat in half. The Dungeon Rat is dead.】

【Congratulations on killing a Dungeon Rat. You have obtained wooden treasure box x1, iron block x3, wood x5, large meat bun 100g x2, Spiritual Energy x1.】

A few minutes later.

After being bitten twice by the Dungeon Rat.

The Dungeon Rat was finally killed by his knife.

He had killed it by brute force; the Second Kill skill never triggered from beginning to end.

”Hiss, that really f**king hurts.”

”Level 3 Dungeon Creatures are already this difficult to deal with. The matter about the Dungeon Cockroach Nest seems a bit ill-considered.”

He couldn’t help but think this.

The level 1 General Cockroach was likely a guard type, and there should be even more powerful guys existing.

Adding in the unknown number, Liu Yang felt that if he went now, he would just be providing them with food.

So.

He quietly retreated to the hall.

He activated his Home and quietly walked inside.

As for exploring, finding the Dungeon Cockroach Nest, etc...

”Ahem, I never said that.”

Taking out the wooden treasure box, Liu Yang put his hands together and muttered to himself.

”Spirits above and spirits below, I pray to all the gods for blessings, give me something to heal my injuries, preferably some spirit stones or similar items, and if I could get some more food, that would be even better. Amen!”

After the prayer, the treasure box was opened.

【You have opened a wooden treasure box. You have obtained wood spirit stone x1, medical gauze 5m x1, iron block x3, linen cloth 1m x3, ordinary wooden bed blueprint x1, roasted meat 300g x1.】

”666666”

”To get a big harvest, you still have to open treasure boxes.”

”Although the medical gauze is a bit underwhelming, it can still be used.”

”Also, sleeping on the ground at night is both cold and uncomfortable. Now a bed has arrived too.”

”Especially the wood spirit stone, now the materials to upgrade the small wooden house are finally almost enough.”

Liu Yang first clicked to use the wooden bed blueprint he just obtained.

【Ordinary Wooden Bed Manufacturing Materials: wood x8, iron block x2.】

Then he entered the warehouse.

Upgrading the small wooden house requires wood x20, iron block x4, wood spirit stone x1.

And currently, Liu Yang has a total of wood x13, iron block x9, wood spirit stone x1.

Just for upgrading the wooden house, he still lacks wood x7.

Adding the wooden bed, the total shortage is 15 pieces of wood.

Picking up the medical gauze to bandage his wound, Liu Yang entered the Auction House interface.

”Since it’s not enough, I can only trade with others.”

”My current wooden house can’t even block a Dungeon Rat. If I don’t upgrade it quickly, I won’t be able to sleep soundly.”

So, he listed two 30g sausages in the Auction House.

【Auction House】

【Seller: Liu Yang.】

【Trading Item: 30g Sausage.】

【Requirement: wood x5.】

【Inventory: 2.】

As soon as Liu Yang listed the sausages, the chat channel went wild.

”A Da Lao appears in the Auction House, actually trading sausages for wood.”

”Crazy, crazy! I’m so hungry my stomach is sticking to my back, and he’s trading food for wood.”

”Oh my god, sausages! Even if they have starch, they are still meat products. I can’t even get a steamed bun right now.”

”Urgent, urgent! Who has wood? I currently have 4 pieces and need 1 more. Can someone lend me one first? I’ll give you one-fifth back after trading for the sausage!”

”Me, me, me! One piece of wood has been traded to you, quickly receive it and go bid for the sausage, you must be fast!”
