189: Side Story 3: Lessons LearnedWang Dadong and Lei Ting were staying at home leisurely, enjoying a quiet time. Suddenly, Wang Dadong’s phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID; it was a call from Ding Xiaoyu.

”Xiaoyu? What’s wrong?” Wang Dadong picked up the phone and asked with concern.

Ding Xiaoyu’s tone on the other end was calm. ”Wang Dongting skipped class! Come over here quickly!”

”What? Wang Dongting skipped class?” Wang Dadong’s brow furrowed. ”Alright, I’m coming right now!”

Hanging up the phone, Wang Dadong looked at Lei Ting and explained, ”Our son skipped class. I have to go to Ding Xiaoyu’s house to take a look.”

Lei Ting looked surprised. ”Our son skipped class? He has the guts for that?”

Wang Dadong shook his head. ”We’ll know once we get to Ding Xiaoyu’s. Let’s go!”

The two hurried to Ding Xiaoyu’s house. As soon as they entered, they saw Hao Jiaqi and Ding Xiaoyu standing in the living room, looking at Ding Xula.

Ding Xiaoyu said to Ding Xula with a serious face, ”I’ll punish you again tonight!”

Ding Xula looked at her brother pitifully, a hint of grievance flashing in her eyes.

Although Hao Jiaqi was a bit reluctant, she also knew that her daughter’s behavior was indeed wrong, so she could only remain powerless to help her daughter’s plea for assistance.

Seeing that her mother wouldn’t help her either, Ding Xula had no choice but to turn her gaze toward her brothers and called out sweetly, ”Big brother... big brother...”

Ding Xiaoyu, however, remained expressionless and said coldly, ”Calling your brother is useless! I’m the one in charge of this house!”

Seeing this, Ding Yuxi and his two brothers looked at each other and smiled. Then they shrugged and said to Ding Xula, ”Sis, bye-bye. We’re going back to class. After all, we’re good students, and good students don’t skip class!”

There was a clear hint of teasing and irony in their words. Hearing this, Ding Xula’s little face flushed with anger, and she muttered, ”Brothers, you’re so annoying!”

Ding Yuxi and his two brothers walked to the door. They waved goodbye to their parents with smiles on their faces. ”Dad, Mom, we’re going back to class!”

Ding Xiaoyu responded with a smile, ”Mm, be safe on the way!”

Hao Jiaqi said gently, ”Mom loves you, bye-bye!”

Hearing their mother’s words, the three brothers’ faces immediately overflowed with happy smiles as they said in unison, ”Bye-bye, Mom!”

Just then, Wang Dadong and Lei Ting, who were entering, happened to see the three brothers about to leave.

Seeing them, the three brothers hurriedly greeted them, ”Uncle Dong, Auntie Ting, goodbye! We’re going to class!”

Wang Dadong responded with a smile, ”Bye! Come back after school to eat together!”

Lei Ting also smiled and said, ”Bye!”

After Wang Dadong walked in, he immediately saw his son, Wang Dongting, sitting silently on the sofa.

He called out softly, ”Wang Dongting!”

As soon as Wang Dongting heard his father’s voice, like a startled rabbit, he quickly jumped up from the sofa and then darted behind Auntie Hao like a flash of lightning.

Seeing this, Hao Jiaqi couldn’t help but find it a bit funny. Looking at Wang Dongting hiding behind her, she teased, ”Wang Dongting, when you skipped class, why didn’t you think about the consequences?”

Lei Ting stood to the side, her fists clenched tightly. With a face full of rage, she shouted at Wang Dongting, ”Wang Dongting, get over here!”

Wang Dongting poked his head out cautiously, looked at his mother, hesitated for a moment, and then said, ”Promise you won’t hit me!”

Seeing his wife teaching their son a lesson, Wang Dadong decided not to intervene and just observed silently from the side.

Then, he turned to look at Ding Xiaoyu and Ding Xula, who were sitting nearby, and asked curiously, ”Xiaoyu, Xula, what’s wrong with you two? Xula looks so aggrieved.”

Ding Xiaoyu looked at his daughter expressionlessly, a cold sneer appearing at the corner of his mouth as he said in an icy voice, ”Aggrieved? She actually took your son with her to skip class, and you say she’s aggrieved?”

On the side, Wang Dadong looked at Ding Xula with great interest, a smile on his face as he gave her a thumbs-up. ”Little Xula, you’re really brave!”

Seeing this, Ding Xula immediately acted spoiled toward Wang Dadong. ”Uncle Dong, you’re the best! Can you help me say some good words to my dad and get him to waive my punishment?”

Wang Dadong turned to Ding Xiaoyu, putting on a pleading look, and said, ”Xiaoyu, look at how pitiful little Xula is. How about letting it go this time?”

However, Ding Xiaoyu remained unmoved. He gave Wang Dadong a cold look and answered without hesitation, ”No! Absolutely not!”

Wang Dadong looked at Ding Xiaoyu helplessly, then turned to Ding Xula, shrugged, and said, ”Your dad won’t agree, so there’s nothing I can do!”

Ding Xula pouted. ”Hmph! No sincerity!”
