Ultimate Series, Past Lives Revealed

169: Steady developmentEver since Li Jianyi learned that his Master had not yet been reincarnated, his mood improved significantly, even if that feeling wasn’t exactly appropriate!

However, he felt that this way, he wouldn’t be all alone!

Consequently, he would spend a long time every day sharing the trivialities, worries, and joys of his life with his Master.

This routine continued for a while, until one day, his Master appeared directly in his dream!

Li Jianyi looked at his Master in surprise, only to hear his Master say with a helpless expression, ”Jianyi, are you too idle? Your Master here is very busy!”

Upon hearing this, Li Jianyi felt a bit aggrieved and quickly explained, ”Master, I’m just missing you! How can you say that to me?”

Daoist Master Li sighed and said, ”Master misses you too, but look at this Daoist temple, it’s in such a dilapidated state! You need to develop the Daoist temple properly, otherwise, my incense will be cut off!”

Li Jianyi muttered disapprovingly, ”Master, I won’t let your incense be cut off! I have income every day. Didn’t you say that as long as I can survive, that’s enough?”

Daoist Master Li was speechless after hearing Li Jianyi’s words, not knowing how to respond.

Although Li Jianyi said that, he actually cared a lot about his Master’s words in his heart.

From then on, he became diligent, actively taking on missions every day and working hard to earn money to renovate the Daoist temple.

After a period of effort, the Daoist temple gradually began to improve.

The originally dilapidated areas were renovated, the walls were repainted, and the roof was repaired.

The statues in the Daoist temple were also wiped clean, appearing solemn and dignified.

As the environment of the Daoist temple improved, the number of believers coming to offer incense gradually increased.

Looking at all this, Li Jianyi felt a sense of accomplishment in his heart, and at the same time, his determination to carry forward the Daoist temple grew even firmer.

As for Li Jianyi’s classmates, after learning that he had become a Daoist, their feelings were a complex mix.

On one hand, they were surprised and puzzled by Li Jianyi’s choice.

In this modern society, scientific concepts are deeply rooted, and most people think that the profession of a Daoist is outdated, and even somewhat mysterious and superstitious.

However, Li Jianyi had actually chosen such a path behind everyone’s back, which caused a significant change in his classmates’ impressions of him.

Some might think he is special, daring to pursue the true faith in his heart; while others might be skeptical of his decision, thinking he is too superstitious or unrealistic.

However, Li Jianyi seemed quite indifferent to his classmates’ opinions, as if he didn’t take them to heart.

After all, he knew well that these people knew very little about the industry he was engaged in and could hardly truly understand the ins and outs of it.

Meanwhile, the development of the Daoist temple was proceeding steadily step by step.

Li Jianyi specially hired a villager, and this villager was not only a loyal believer of the Daoist temple but also his capable assistant.

Every morning, this villager would arrive at the Daoist temple on time, carefully sweeping the courtyard, wiping the statues, and creating a clean and solemn environment for those coming to offer incense.

And what about Li Jianyi himself?

He would often travel tirelessly, embarking on a journey to find those destined to be connected.

He believed that in the vast sea of people, there must be those who have a destiny with the Daoist temple and the Dao, waiting for him to discover them.

To put it simply, it’s about saving people and seeking Karma!
