Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 834: Food Expense

Having discovered that he had schemed for so long, Zhao Kai was rendered speechless.

He could have never anticipated that the time when Xu Feng taught him a set of move sets to increase his leverage to return to the family was actually a scheme.

Rather than helping him return to the family, it was more of a setup and foundation for him to join the City Competition.

And if he hadnʼt known Xu Feng for a long time, then he would have thought it was just for his well-being. Unfortunately, that was not the case and he understood why Xu Feng taught him this much.

”Feng, be honest. You just donʼt want to join some dumb City Competition so you wanted me to be your puppet.” Zhao Kai narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

Contrary to his expectations, Xu Feng clapped his hands and didnʼt plan on denying it.

”As expected of my buddy.” Xu Feng laughed heartily. ”The City Competition is a major event that could raise our cityʼs grade. Itʼs important, but very time-consuming. I donʼt have the time to waste on it.”

”...”

As much as Zhao Kai wanted to argue against it, he couldnʼt. After all, it was indeed a fact that the City Competition was a time-consuming event. Not only must one travel from city to city, but they also need to go through many preliminaries.

If everything were smooth sailing, then it would be completed in half a month. However, it usually wasnʼt and could take up to at least 2 months or more to be done with the competition.

It was a universal fact that all organizers of any type of event were incompetent and always had to mess something up, causing major delays.

”Anyway, if youʼre going to make my little brother compete, then you must have everything prepared and how to train him, right?” Zhao Xin asked curiously.

Nodding in response, Xu Feng naturally wasnʼt going to half-hearted the situation. ”Besides my martial technique, Kai would also undergo special training from Alfred.”

”Alfred?” She raised an eyebrow in confusion. Just the first name alone isnʼt enough for her to connect it with someone she knows.

”Alfred is the uncle of Professor Allison, and heʼs also a well-known figure in the Fighting Industry.” He calmly explained.

”Oh, that famous Alfred.” Sure enough, Zhao Xin instantly recalled such a person and was astonished. She didnʼt expect he was that well connected to get a personal trainer such as Alfred.

Either way, she was now reassured and no longer worried about Zhao Kaiʼs achievement. With a talented and famous person like Alfred to teach him, there was no way he could reach a terrible placement.

So long as it was a decent placement and not a ranking that would cause them to suffer humiliation, everything was well.

”But Feng, what about the guild?” Zhao Kai suddenly raised the question. ”Iʼm a Guild Commander, so if I disappear for long. The guild would be affected.”

”Oh, please. Youʼre not that important.” Xu Feng rolled his eyes. ”Your purpose and foundation are still in the city I assigned to you. It has no effect on the guild if you disappear for a few months.”

”What city was he assigned?” Zhao Xin suddenly intervened and inquired curiously.

”Itʼs—”

Zhao Kai was about to reply when his mouth got stuffed with a big prawn. His eyes widened in shock, but in the next second, he began chewing the delicious and savory prawn.

”Nice try, Xin.” Xu Feng smirked and knew she was trying to pry for information again.

Zhao Xin shrugged in response. There were a lot of opportunities for her to get information from her little brotherʼs mouth anyway. It was not like Xu Feng could supervise him 24/7 and stop him from spilling the beans.

Unfortunately, she had underestimated Xu Fengʼs strategy.

”Kai, if your biggest assignment was leaked to another party, then be prepared to be kicked out of the guild.” Xu Feng warned solemnly.

And he continued, ”Also, you can forget about getting any tips or strategy guide from me. You will also lose access to anything related to Vanguard Guild, and that includes your expenses on food in the Divine World.”

Instantly, Zhao Kaiʼs face turned pale. Because of his EX-Skill, Gluttony, he was required to eat a substantial amount of food daily. Otherwise, he would feel starved and receive a status ailment.

In the worst-case scenario, the EX-Skill could also be lost, meaning he would lose additional power-up. The only way his satiety wouldnʼt decrease was when he was offline.

However, if he were to be online, then it was a requirement to constantly maintain his satiety level.

The expense of food would be fine if he simply stuffed himself with bread. But as a foodie, there was no way he would be satisfied by bread. He needed to taste other delicacies, and thus, the expenses used were very taxing.

If it werenʼt for Vanguard Guild covering his expenses, then he would become a pauper slowly from eating too much food.

”Little Kai, thereʼs no need to worry about his threat.” Zhao Xin curled her lips upward. ”Tell me the secret and Iʼll gladly cover your food expenses.”

”A-Are you sure?” Zhao Kai leaned back and held a skeptical expression.

”Do I look like I lack money?” Unamused by his reaction, Zhao Xin rolled her eyes and emphasized that she was someone who owned a lot of money.

Both in the real world and the Divine World. Her power was no less than the veteran first-rate guilds. Only she preferred to stay lowkey for the time being and patiently grow her guild without hindrance.

”Um, my monthly food expenses are around 100 gold coins.” Zhao Kai scratched his head and said awkwardly.

WTF?!

Zhao Xin had the expression of wanting to curse many vulgar words aloud.

Her eyes widened in disbelief at the expenses that he wasted on food daily—that too in a damn video game!

”How have you not expelled him from the guild already?” She turned to Xu Feng and questioned with a baffled tone.
