Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 445: Gender Equality

The battle within the entrance of the Fallen Swamp turned intense, with those firing magical spells nearly exhausting most of their mana when dealing with the Obsidian Sludges.

It seemed as if the more they killed, the more Obsidian Sludges would appear from out of thin air.

Of course, it was an exaggeration as these sludges were divided upon being deflected by those physically based from harming the Mages, Sorcerer, and Summoner.

”Raid Leader, Iʼm almost out of mana.” Veronica smiled bitterly as she realized the difficulty of the raid.

Aside from her first initial smooth kill of the sludges, they were soon able to adapt and dodge her Frostbolt in time, making her current accuracy less than 25%.

With so many misses, her mana naturally also decreased by a ton, and with the debuff of the dungeon, Veronica felt completely helpless.

”Itʼs fine, just relax yourself, and donʼt be pressured into landing your spells. If you miss, then you miss.” Xu Feng lightly consoled her.

However, the next second, he turned his attention to SilentWhisper.

”But you SilentWhisper, are you seriously whiffing half of your spells? How is your accuracy rate at 50%? Have you not learned a thing since the raid from Scorched Caverns? No wonder you were treated as a traitor when your skills are this poor!” Xu Feng scolded her mercilessly.

Feeling wronged, SilentWhisper wanted to argue that she was doing her best but knew that arguing at this moment would result in harsher words.

In the end, she simply bit her lips very hard and shouted, ”Iʼm sorry, Raid Leader. Iʼll do my best.”

”Well, your best is not enough! If I see you whiff the easy sludges again, then youʼre going to get it.” Xu Feng shouted in a cold tone.

Meanwhile, Veronica felt as if she had just met someone with a bipolar personality.

How was it that she got consoled warmly whereas SilentWhisper, who was doing better than her, got scolded harshly?

Feeling nervous that Xu Feng might start scolding her soon if she continued to make mistakes, Veronica tried her best to focus on her aim.

Alas, the more nervous one person was, the higher the probability that they would miss. And sure enough, Veronicaʼs ”concentrated” aim had once again missed the sludges.

She swallowed a mouthful of saliva as her face turned ashen white. She lifted her chin slowly, seemingly expecting a harsh scolding.

To her surprise though, Xu Feng simply patted her shoulder.

”Not bad, Vortex Viper. You almost hit the sludges this time. Just practice a bit more and try your best. Itʼs enough that you are getting closer and closer to the target.” He said softly, not an ounce of anger or disappointment could be discerned from his tone.

”Y-Youʼre not mad?” Confused, Veronica was sure that she was going to get scolded.

”Why would I be mad?” Xu Feng asked in amusement.

”You are improving very well, so just keep it up and donʼt feel pressured.” He continued, and moved away from her, clearly not trying to exude any pressure on her by being too close to her.

Meanwhile, SilentWhisper had been thoroughly stupefied by the double standard that Xu Feng did.

She became distracted enough to allow a sludge to split once again after Zhao Kai assisted her in deflecting them from approaching her and did not respond in time to kill the sludges.

”SilentWhisper!” With eagle eye vision, Xu Feng instantly shouted in disbelief.

”Are you here to dilly-dally or do a raid? Why have you not only improved but have even worsened? Seriously, I donʼt understand Gentle Wind in hiring a bunch of useless folks like you.”

”Pfft,” Steelshot let out a small giggle after hearing the insult and scolding done to her.

However, he regretted it almost immediately when Xu Feng turned his gaze to him.

”And you, Steelshot! Do you even know how to aim properly?” Xu Feng asked in an astonished tone. ”Look at Shadow Blade. Heʼs a goddamn Gun Knight for heavenʼs sake and he still has higher accuracy than you. Do you have any shame? Or wait, I forgot, you have none!”

As the battle continued longer, Xu Fengʼs constant scolding while offering advice on how to improve somehow alleviated the tense atmosphere.

In fact, his voice being reverberated throughout the area made the Obsidian Sludges look like background monsters, who were here just for show.

Although being scolded harshly was not a good feeling, the scolding helped alleviate their anxiousness and concern. Their movement and action soon turned smooth as they began cooperating better than before.

The ones who had it worse, in reality, werenʼt actually SilentWhisper or Steelshot. It wasnʼt even Ardent Lance either or the silent but efficient DeathLingers from the Eternal Guild.

Instead, it was none other than Iceheart, who had practically been placed into the naughty corner that was usually meant for kids.

Whenever she tried to move from that position or make a move to deal with the Obsidian Sludges, she would instantly get scolded by Xu Feng, with accusations thrown at her.

”Can I move now?” Iceheart gnashed her teeth and asked, seemingly agitated that she was forced to remain idle.

”Move? Youʼre staying there until you reflect on your actions.” Xu Feng didnʼt even bother to turn to her and merely gave his statement as he assisted Carmen.

”OneManMedia, keep your camera locked on Iceheart and have the viewers be the overseer. If she moves even a little bit away from that corner. Any viewers that catch her will be given a hand-written signature from my lovely Guild Commander.” He added, ensuring that Iceheart would have to become a clown to move.

”Yes, Raid Leader.” Naturally, OneManMedia was happy to oblige from assisting in the battle and focused on his streaming. After all, he was truly horrified by the fierce change of Xu Feng.

Never once had he experienced Xu Feng scolding so many times and without any regard for their gender, except one person. And the viewers who were watching had been clamoring for Gender Equality, clearly impressed by Xu Fengʼs neutrality.
