Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 1029: Chapter 148: Main Force Decisive Battle · The Might of the Dragon Knight (2)

Behind the front lines was the long-range firepower position. A large number of crossbowmen and firearms soldiers were arrayed in rows, with bows and crossbows drawn, and matchlocks ignited. Dwarf engineers commanded the soldiers to nervously assemble heavy crossbow cannons and cannons, the thick barrels ominously pointing towards the distant castle and lakeshore shallows.

The reserve forces and the command center personally overseen by Hilude were situated at the highest point of the gentle slope, where the battle banners of the Empire’s double-headed eagle and Hesse Territory’s bauhinia emblem fluttered wildly.

The appearance of this massive army immediately caused panic on the walls of Blue Mirror Castle. The defenders stared pale-faced at the Hesse Army, resembling a steel flood that covered the plain. The castle itself was sturdy, but after the disastrous defeat at Rapids Castle, the defenders’ morale was low, and their numbers paled in comparison to the tiger and wolf division outside the walls. What terrified them even more was that the Hesse Army was clearly more massive than before!

In previous wars, Hesse Territory would deploy around a thousand troops each time, never exceeding 2,000.

Yet even in such circumstances, Blue Mirror Territory suffered repeated defeats, first losing the sturdy Rapids Castle, and then swept as the Hesse Army advanced unimpeded, conquering both northern and southern flanks of Blue Mirror Territory.

And now, not only had the opposing army expanded, but they had also gained the aid of dwarves, deploying nearly 7,000 elite infantry and cavalry at one go!

How could the defenders not be fearful? They honestly couldn’t see any possibility of victory.

Meanwhile, Su Li, along with his marshal and generals, was boldly riding on his giant dragon and griffin, flying in the sky to carefully survey the battlefield terrain.

Most crucial was this lake in Blue Mirror Territory, where the Green Knights within were the key influencers of this battle.

At this moment, the lake was far from serene; it had lost the beautiful blue mirror-like sight it once had. In the shallow water near the castle, the lake displayed a strange, viscous green color. Unusual bubbles percolated on the surface, with a glimpse of monstrous, non-human silhouettes slowly moving underwater. The chilling Wind of Death and ancient, desolate aura, even from a distance, faintly oppressed the nerves of every Hesse soldier by the lakeside. That was the ”Oath Knight Order” — the Green Knight Legion forcibly bound here. They excelled in fighting underwater, and if the Blue Mirror Territory leveraged their Manan divine magic to stir towering waves, flooding the plain, these Green Knight Legion would become a devastating force.

Marshal Orstein, draped in a thick marshal cloak, straddled his griffin, his keen eyes sweeping past his well-ordered formation and over the shimmering, enigmatic lake surface, finally fixed on the Blue Mirror Castle standing on the cliff.

”Lord, Baron Grant deliberately chose the battlefield here, defending Blue Mirror Castle to the death. It’s certain they’ll stir up Manan’s divine magic once more to transform the lakeside plain into a flooded land.”

Everyone anticipated this; battling with Blue Mirror Territory inevitably involved Manan’s influence, with fighting amid towering waves being the main characteristic of this battle.

Su Li was grateful that he had seized the Holy Relic of Glory, the Eye of the Drowned, from the Broken Toe Tribe during a past war. Naturally, it was now renamed the Water-Repelling Pearl by Su Li, presumably a holy artifact of the Manann Church, which greatly aided Su Li in the last battle, allowing elite knights of Hesse Territory to stride through waves, ignoring the towering waves induced by Manan Church, annihilating many Blue Mirror Territory knights and the Black Lynx Knight Order.

Otherwise, under Blue Mirror Castle in this battle, facing over 5,000 elite infantry and cavalry of Blue Mirror Territory, coupled with thousands of Green Knights at the lake’s bottom, it would have been much harder for Hesse Territory to secure victory!

This also showed that the powers established in the Border Prince’s Territory were all deeply rooted, or else they would perish amid any random storm.

Perhaps Blue Mirror Territory’s ability to attack Hesse Territory was somewhat lacking, but holding their ground on this land was definitely a major problem for Su Li.

Su Li gazed at the distant turbulent lake surface, patting the dragon neck of Aeliria underneath, took a deep breath, and said, ”My dear, this battle depends on you! I entrust the Water-Repelling Pearl to you; make sure to endure until we completely defeat the enemy!”

The use of Holy Relics of Glory always comes at a high price.

The Water-Repelling Pearl’s cost is relatively lower, but still consumes a lot of the user’s stamina.

For this battle, Su Li plans to go all out, sparing no expense in using all the Holy Relics of Glory, for he cannot wield all of them simultaneously.

Therefore, he intends to activate the Phoenix Wing Talisman himself, letting the wind accompany their fierce flame, thoroughly sweeping the battlefield, suppressing the tumultuous waves.

Su Li entrusted the Water-Repelling Pearl to Aeliria, whose impact in this battle is the greatest, even to the extent that its duration relates to the entire battle’s victory or defeat!

Thus, Su Li must find an existence most abundant in stamina and vitality to use this Holy Relic of Glory. Aeliria was one of the best choices, being a Green Dragon who had long resided in the wind eye of the Purple Vine Tree’s Holy Purple Vine, absorbing countless life energy from the Wind of Jilun. In terms of boundless vitality, perhaps even Divine Chosen Knight Hilude couldn’t compare to her.

Aeliria raised her slender dragon neck in the air, opened her massive mouth, issuing a dragon roar to the heavens, responding to Su Li’s instruction.
