Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 1001: Chapter 140: Overbearing Execution and Mole’s Unreliable Divine Chosen (2)

”Leave it to me, Lord!” Dorglin patted his chest, despite the pain pulling at his wounds, causing him to grimace, but the dwarf’s passion for reconstruction and treasure hunting instantly overwhelmed the pain. He wasn’t a follower of the Sun Goddess and didn’t care about the lives of dozens. In fact, he wished the Lord would kill more to avenge the dwarf’s bloodline. After all, dwarves are famously petty and vengeful.

He excitedly promised, ”Those sea rats (referring to Manan believers) can’t hide things from a dwarf’s eyes! As for the fortress, rest assured, we’ll build it ten times stronger than before! Let the dwarven stones tell future generations who the real master here is!”

Su Li nodded in satisfaction and turned his gaze to Demster, ”You’re responsible for consolidating city defenses, extinguishing remaining fires, and identifying dangerous individuals and those who can be converted among the captives. Those ordinary armed attendants and soldiers willing to lay down arms and pledge allegiance to the territory can be given a chance, integrated into the Black Steel Redemption Knight Order. Additionally, organize manpower to quickly clean the river... that pile of trash not only pollutes the water source but is also a hidden hazard.”

Demster only felt a headache, groaned, ”Lord, I request overtime pay. After the battle, everyone else can relax, but only us Mole Knights truly start working. Look at how much work you’ve arranged for me, I’ve not yet finished with the mass graves north of Heisen Castle, and now you want me to deal with the spider nest’s cavern.”

”The excavation work in the cavern has just started, barely a few steps in a thousand-mile journey, and now you want me to go to the Valley of Memory and deal with the ancient elven mass graves. This work has truly not begun, yet now you want me to handle this huge corpse and the site of fierce battles.”

Listening to Demster’s groaning, Su Li felt somewhat guilty. Perhaps the nervousness of the Mole Knights is not only due to their doctrine and frequent encounters with death but also the immense work pressure. In this dark and despairing world, death is everywhere. Maybe it’s seeing no hope and a certain doomed ending that drives these despairing knights to mental breakdown and nervousness.

But not urgently handling this battlefield is absolutely impossible, otherwise this Vampire Sea Dragon, in the hands of the Manan followers, might be just a pseudo-legendary level, but in the hands of the Night Wanderer Corpse, it could truly become a legendary undead monster. Even if a few undead dragons appear, it would be deadly enough.

Su Li pondered slightly and said, ”Stop complaining. In this battle, we captured nearly a thousand knights and thousands of captives, slaves, which will definitely attract a large number of slave merchants. While selling a batch of slaves, we’ll also buy a batch of Mole Church’s knights and priests back. To help relieve some pressure on you.”

Mole belief is one of the most popular cults of the Old World. In this land full of war, disease, and chaos, death is an eternal companion and an unavoidable ending. So the residents of the Old World, especially the Imperial People, have an unhealthy obsession with it, to the extent that all things contain symbols of death, from skulls adorning flags to the military culture permeating Imperial society, death is everywhere, and its master is Mole.

This also leads to Mole Knights appearing in every Empire territory, including the Border Prince’s Territory. Among many obliterated territories, there must be many Mole Knights.

Demster, upon hearing this, was also excited, saying, ”No problem, Lord. I will do my utmost to handle post-war matters, and please allow me to select a batch of Mole knights and believers among the captives to participate in the post-war affairs.”

Su Li naturally had no objection to this. Anyway, after the appearance of Manan’s son, the knights of other churches suffered heavy casualties, probably not many remain, nor do they harm his interests much.

While thinking about this, Demster continued, ”Lord, I think perhaps we can establish a Mole Holy Land here at Rapids Castle to station here.”

”Establish a Mole Holy Land?” Su Li raised an eyebrow, which was rare indeed; Demster actually takes the initiative to mention such things. It’s known that this Divine Chosen of the Mole Church rarely engages in missionary work. Mainly because they are deeply secretive about death, so they don’t willingly advance such content. After all, the rise of every Mole Holy Land means a large amount of death once took place.

But Su Li was still very optimistic about Demster’s proposal. Although Rapids Castle suffered heavy losses in this battle, its status warrants attention.

This fortress will be a key fort under Hesse’s Territory controlling the Brionne River Gold Waterway in the future, and one of the locks at the throat of the territory.

Su Li needs to strongly control Flash Spear City and Hesse’s Territory, these two vast and fertile lands, hence stationing troops between the two cities is essential.

This kind of fortress belongs to a military town, absolutely impossible to abandon. And if a church holy land is added, it will indeed help consolidate its status, and will be very compatible with Flash Spear City’s location and function.

More importantly, with such a holy land here, Su Li hardly needs to worry about any problems arising from this battlefield afterward.

No matter how rampant necromancers are, they wouldn’t dare dig up corpses below a Mole Church’s religious holy land.
