Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 1004: Chapter 141: Mole Wanderers and the Holy Land Watchtower Gate (2)

”These ’wanderers’ practice not in bustling churches but are rooted deep within ancient, vast, and even legendary haunted cemeteries. Their duties are not just the daily cleaning and praying but also ’soothing’ those restless spiritual bodies that cannot find peace due to various reasons, often carrying intense resentment or obsession. Day after day, they deal with the deepest and most unstable soul energy.”

Su Li’s eyebrows slightly raised, the previous anger replaced by an interest in exploration: ”So, they are exposed to the most ’negative’ soul energy?”

”Exactly, Lord!” Demster nodded emphatically, ”Ordinary Mole Priests, like me, focus on guiding peaceful souls of the deceased to tranquility, mastering mostly ’Soul Soothing’, ’Comforting’, and the ’Mild Purification of Resentment’ type of divine magic. But ’wanderers’ are different. To suppress and soothe those powerful, aggressive vengeful spirits, they must master more... more ’confrontational’ soul divine magic. They need not only understand the fragility of the soul but also its stubborn and combative aspects.”

”So, I think they would be very interested in the secret treasures beneath Blue Mirror Lake! We could recruit them to explore beneath Blue Mirror Lake. Also, among them, more will likely master the Divine Magic of ’Mole’s Word’!”

Listening to Demster’s words, Su Li felt this idea was quite reliable.

These wanderers in the Mole Church naturally love to delve into ancient graves for archeology and research. Nothing holds more research value than beneath Blue Mirror Lake, where believers of Manan have dug up the relics of the ancient River God.

The Knights of Mole entering will surely make more discoveries. If their Mole’s Word divine magic allows them to communicate with souls, they theoretically could communicate with the Green Ghost Cavalry below, thus resolving the mystery, right?

Excitedly, Su Li asked, ”So how can we recruit these wanderers? Through your holy land?”

”Exactly!” Demster nodded immediately, lazily saying, ”Building our holy land is actually quite simple, especially near this mountain area, we can fully utilize local materials. The Mole’s churches are almost all constructed of stone, always featuring a wide stone door without a panel, only a heavy lintel, which can open like a teleportation gate. Formed by a pair of columns, one black and one white, reflecting God’s dual nature. Mole’s churches are usually located in the quietest underground places, known for their cool temperature and good ventilation. The interior of Mole’s churches is usually spacious. Any necessary furniture is stored in warehouses, only taken out when needed—like during funerals.”

”Other details depend on different sects. The Shroud Sect usually builds rectangular churches with several side chambers where corpses can be prepared for burial. At the end of the hall is the main altar, facing the door, before which a coffin is placed during funerals. Behind the altar is a door leading to the Moor Garden. Large churches possess multiple altars, allowing more than one funeral to take place at once, each altar having its own door to the garden. The door to the Moor Garden can be closed and locked.”

”The garden itself is a black rose garden, cared for by priests, dotted with stone monuments commemorating the deceased. In theory, these monuments are all small, but the wealthy can persuade the Great Priest that ’small’ is relative: like the Redema Church in Terrabheim. The bereaved can visit the garden accompanied by a Mole Priest, but outsiders cannot enter the garden alone. To ensure this, most gardens are surrounded by high stone walls, with the only entrance through the church itself. The priests’ residences are typically built along one of the garden walls.”

”The churches of Diviners are usually circular with a dome, with an oculus at the dome’s apex. The Prophets sit in the center of the dome, surrounded by fragrant smoke. Attached rooms and dormitories are part of the main building, directly accessible from the church’s hall. Diviner churches do not have attached Moor Gardens, but it’s common for churches of both main sects to be next to each other. In places like Terrabheim, circumstances vary. Most people choose to be buried in Tal’s Holy Forest—Talwelt. Their bodies are carried along a pilgrimage route to Mole, where at the end of the route, they rest for a while in the Moor Garden. Finally, when the body is properly prepared, it is transported through a portal known as the Stone of the End dedicated to Reya.”

”Smaller Mole churches look somewhat similar to the Great Cathedral, with one pillar made of white marble and the other of black basalt, topped with lintels. We can start from this step, then continually enhance the scale of the holy land.”

”Alright then.” Su Li nodded, saying, ”I accept your proposal. You will be fully responsible for establishing this Mole’s holy land. Report directly to the logistics officer for any needs; I will have Dorglin bring the Dwarf Engineers to support you.”

”As you command, Lord.” Demster’s voice finally carried a hint of enthusiasm, albeit still somewhat lazy-sounding.

But as it turns out, as the Divine Chosen of Mole, he has a very determined will regarding missionary work.
