Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 146 Using Stars as a BuffetThat needle strike was too precise, and too ruthless.

The moment the ten-kilometer-long black metal probe plunged into the photosphere of Proxima Centauri, it was like a drop of cold water splashing into a sizzling wok of oil.

The red dwarf, which had been burning slowly according to established physical laws, suddenly shuddered.

Immediately following, the star’s dark red surface erupted with morbid purple spots, and hundreds of millions of tons of high-energy plasma, like vomit expelled from excruciating pain, frantically broke free from the shackles of gravity.

There was no sound.

But everyone present heard a roar that tore the world apart in their hearts.

”Alert! Severe dissociation in the star’s corona!” gaia’s voice was no longer so steady at this moment, her speech speed as fast as chanting, ”Directional high-energy particle stream burst detected! Coverage: Full sector! Energy level index: Immeasurable!”

The bridge of the dragon sparrow was bathed in a crimson glow, the light of the warning lamps appearing as insignificant as fireflies in the face of the overwhelming stellar fury.

On the big screen, the star, which had originally been just a background plate, now occupied the entire field of view.

A tsunami of fire, capable of swallowing thousands of Earths, was crashing down on the human fleet at a speed never seen before in their lives.

”These lunatics...” Li Na gripped the edge of the command console so hard her knuckles turned white.

She stared at the gray planet, ”That is their home star! A flare eruption of this magnitude, even the aftermath, would blow away the atmosphere of Proxima Centauri b! Are they even abandoning their own home?”

”Home?” Academician Wang stared at the data on the side screen, shaking his head with an ugly expression, ”Look at the polar region of that planet.”

Following the direction of Academician Wang’s finger, everyone saw a chilling sight.

Just as the flare erupted, a pale golden light membrane suddenly rose above several of the most magnificent cities on the surface of the gray planet.

That was a planetary-level shield, power at full capacity, thick as an eggshell, tightly protecting the cities inhabited by the ”Three-Eyed Race” nobles.

And those mining areas, slums, and industrial wastelands that occupied 90% of the surface without shield protection had already begun to burn under the prelude radiation of the flare.

Hundreds of millions of low-level Three-Eyed Race laborers would be evaporated into carbon dust within minutes, without even being able to let out a scream.

”Abandoning the chariot to save the Commander, or rather, cleaning up trash.” Lin Yuan leaned against the pilot’s seat, watching the scene, his eyes without the slightest ripple, ”In their eyes, only that small group living at the top of the pyramid are the ’Sacred Race’, the rest are merely consumables.”

”Commander! Nine minutes and forty seconds until the high-energy particle stream arrives!” The navigator roared, his voice trembling, ”The gravitational waves are too strong, the spatial parameters are extremely chaotic, the curvature engine cannot lock onto coordinates! We... we cannot jump out!”

”If we can’t jump out, then don’t jump.”

Lin Yuan unbuckled his safety harness, and his whole body floated up lightly.

His black combat suit was somewhat damaged from the previous battle, revealing the faintly visible, purple-glowing skin underneath.

”Li Na, have the dragon sparrow open all energy reception ports.”

Lin Yuan said while floating toward the sortie bay, his tone as relaxed as if he were ordering an extra dish for dinner, ”Also, bring the ’Heavenly Court’ class energy storage modules we brought from Earth online, and connect them to my mecha... No, connect them directly to me.”

Li Na froze.

She stared wide-eyed at Lin Yuan’s back: ”You... what are you going to do? That is a stellar flare! It is a directional solar storm! No shield can withstand this kind of direct impact!”

”Who said I was going to withstand it?”

Lin Yuan looked back and grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, looking exceptionally demonic under the purple light, ”It’s such a pity to waste such a big chunk of high-purity energy delivered to my door.”

He pointed to his chest, where a translucent golden heart was beating violently, emitting a hungry roar.

”It just so happens that I’m hungry too.”

Three minutes later.

In the pitch-black space, a tiny figure floated in front of the massive bow of the dragon sparrow.

In front of him was an overwhelming, red sea of fire capable of destroying everything.

The sea of fire carried the momentum of destroying all things, gasifying the asteroids and debris along the way, like a giant flame beast with a gaping maw, intending to swallow this ignorant human fleet in one bite.

Lin Yuan opened his arms, letting the extreme cold of minus two hundred degrees in the vacuum envelop him.

His current state was very strange.

His flesh no longer seemed to be pure flesh and blood; every cell was cheering and screaming—that was the most primitive greed for energy.

The Antimatter Core energy in that titan core had not been fully digested, but had transformed him into a bottomless pit in a state of constant hunger.

”gaia, is the link established?”

”Link complete, Commander.” gaia’s voice rang directly in his mind, ”The energy storage arrays of the dragon sparrow and all escort ships have been connected to your biological magnetic field. Current system load: 0%. Warning, this is still a suicidal act, your body may not be able to hold up...”

”If it can’t hold up, it explodes; if it holds up, it evolves.” Lin Yuan interrupted her, ”In this fucked-up universe, where are there so many foolproof strategies.”

He took a deep breath—although there was no air in the vacuum, this was just a ritualistic action.

The next second, the first wave of the stellar corona, enough to burn steel into gas, arrived.

Boom—!

Even in a vacuum, the massive energy impact triggered tremors in space, creating the illusion of a roar.

In that instant, all light-sensing instruments of the human fleet were blinded.

The soldiers closed their eyes instinctively, thinking this was the end of life.

But the anticipated high temperature and destruction did not arrive.

Only Academician Wang, wearing special goggles, stared at the screen, his mouth open to the limit, not even noticing his reading glasses sliding to the tip of his nose.

”This... this is not scientific...” The old man muttered to himself, ”What the hell kind of monster is this...”

In the field of view.

The torrential flood of fire, the moment it hit in front of Lin Yuan, seemed to be captured by some invisible gravity.

The particle stream that was originally spreading in a fan shape actually forcibly changed its trajectory, starting to spin and contract crazily, forming a huge vortex with a diameter of tens of thousands of kilometers.

And at the center of the vortex was that tiny human, almost invisible.

Lin Yuan did not feel good at this moment.

Pain.

Bone-piercing pain.

That was the feeling of thousands of billions of degrees of high-temperature energy being forcibly poured into his body, as if someone were pouring molten iron directly into his blood vessels.

His skin carbonized and cracked in an instant, revealing the golden energy skeleton underneath.

But immediately after, the Void Affinity talent and Antimatter Core in his body, like two sharks that had smelled blood, rushed up frantically.

”Get in... for me!”

Lin Yuan let out a low roar from his throat.

In his pupils, which had turned completely pure purple, the anger of the entire star was reflected.

He was no longer a dam blocking the flood, but had turned into the eye of the storm.

Those violent plasma were forcibly dismantled and compressed by the Void rules in his body, turning into the purest energy liquid, washing frantically along his meridians.

”Alert! Body energy capacity reached 120%!”

”Alert! Biological tissue damage rate 40%... repairing rapidly!”

”Detected ’Star Core Body Forging’ advancement opportunity... attempting to assimilate stellar rules...”

The system prompts were so fast they formed a line.

On the dragon sparrow behind Lin Yuan, the readings of those originally empty energy storage modules were soaring at a terrifying speed.

10%... 50%... 100%... 200%!

”It’s going to explode! The energy tanks are going to explode!” The damage control officer screamed in terror, ”Too much energy! Can’t hold it!”

”Vent it out!” Li Na ordered decisively, ”Divert the excess energy to the secondary batteries and shield systems! Hurry!”

The dragon sparrow’s originally dim shield instantly shone like a small sun, and because of the energy overflow, golden electric arcs began to flicker around the hull.

And in the center of the storm.

Lin Yuan’s body had completely turned into a glowing human.

His skin cycled between destruction and rebirth. Each time it cracked, the newly grown skin was more crystal clear and tougher, and some obscure ancient patterns even began to appear on it—those were the inscriptions exclusive to the ”Stellar-level lifeform” of the titan race.

Ten minutes.

A full ten minutes.

That solar storm, enough to obliterate everything, was eaten clean, mouthful by mouthful, like a greedy giant beast.

When the last trace of the flare’s aftermath was inhaled into Lin Yuan’s nostrils, this starry sky returned to dead silence.

Only that figure floating in space was so bright that people dared not look directly at it.

Lin Yuan slowly lowered his head and looked at his hands.

At this moment, his hands presented a translucent golden texture, and what flowed in his blood vessels was no longer red blood, but liquid stellar fire.

He grabbed a handful of the vacuum beside him, and space actually made an unbearable creaking sound, scorched into a few black cracks by his high temperature.

”Hiccup—”

An untimely, yet exceptionally clear, belch echoed through the mental link into the minds of every human soldier who hadn’t yet recovered.

Lin Yuan patted his glowing belly, raised his head, and looked at Proxima Centauri in the distance, which was slightly dimmed due to the energy deficit.

The skin on his face was covered with golden cracks like porcelain, somewhat terrifying, but the smile was arrogant to the extreme.

”The taste is a bit pungent, a bit like that low-quality Erguotou.”

Lin Yuan licked his still-smoking lips, extended a finger, and hooked it lightly at the planet in the distance that was still wrapped in shields.

”Hey, the three-eyed ones over there.”

”That dish just now was not bad, just the portion was a bit small.”

”Is there any more? Another serving?”

Proxima Centauri b, inside the core shelter.

Looking through the most advanced deep space detector at the human who was unscathed and even burped, the surviving Three-Eyed Race high-level officials felt for the first time what despair was.

That was not the fear of facing a strong enemy.

That was the... collapse of facing a creature that could not be understood at all, a monster that defied the common sense of the universe.

It could even eat the star’s fury.

How to fight this war?

”God... this is divine punishment...” An elderly Three-Eyed Race noble collapsed on the ground, that third eye representing nobility now shedding turbid tears.

But Lin Yuan clearly didn’t intend to give them too much time to repent.

He moved his neck, and his whole body made a cracking sound like popping beans, each sound accompanied by the trembling of space.

”Since you aren’t serving the feast anymore, then I won’t be polite.”

Lin Yuan’s figure suddenly disappeared.

The next second, a golden light like a meteor, dragging a long tail flame, slammed straight into the thickest energy shield of the planet.

”gaia, tell the dragon sparrow, don’t just stand there and watch.”

”Release all ten thousand engineering robots we brought.”

”Since this place is a pasture, then we are the farmers coming to harvest.”

”Anything with a metallic luster, even if it’s a toilet seat, pry it off for me!”
