Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 140 Semi-Energy Transformation! Void BodyInside the intensive care unit, the original torso had already vanished.

That layer of carbonized dead skin was completely shattered into ashes under the wash of gold-red light.

Directly beneath the magnetic confinement device, there was no flesh-and-blood body as expected; instead, a heart floated in mid-air.

The heart appeared as a translucent pure gold. With every contraction and beat, it sent out a visible ripple of energy into its surroundings.

These ripples did not dissipate; instead, they outlined complex networks in the air.

Academician Wang’s mouth hung slightly open as he gripped the edge of the console tightly. The scene he was witnessing had exceeded all existing human medical dogmas.

Centering on the heart, those networks were like a web being woven. First, they reconstructed a support structure similar to a spine, and immediately after, countless tiny blood vessels and nerve fibers extended along the golden light.

This was no longer surgery; it was practically creating a life out of thin air.

In just a few short minutes, a skeleton took shape within the white light.

The bones were no longer the ghastly white of calcium, but possessed a metallic dark-gold hue. titan runes, similar to those on the South Heaven Gate fortress’s main brain, could be vaguely seen on the surface of the bone.

”The energy flow is stabilizing...”

Academician Wang watched the fluctuations on the dashboard that had already defied physical common sense, his throat feeling a bit dry.

”He isn’t repairing his body; he is turning all the remaining antimatter energy into components to construct his body.”

Chen Weiguo stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, his breathing becoming extremely heavy. Although he couldn’t understand those complex formulas, he could feel a scalp-numbing pressure radiating from that reborn body.

The light gradually pulled inward.

Blood vessels, muscles, and skin covered the skeleton layer by layer, as if under the nozzle of a printer.

When the last bit of golden light was locked beneath the skin, Lin Yuan inside the chamber had changed his appearance.

He lay there quietly. His skin looked no different from a normal person’s, even appearing finer and more ruddy than before, possessing a warm, marble-like quality.

However, his originally graying hair had now turned a strange silver-gray, swaying slightly in the windless chamber.

Beep—

The electrocardiogram monitor finally resumed a normal heartbeat sound, steady and powerful.

Lin Yuan slowly opened his eyes.

At that moment, Chen Weiguo and Academician Wang, waiting outside the window, both had an illusion.

It seemed they were no longer facing one of their own kind, but a bottomless cosmic abyss.

Deep within Lin Yuan’s pupils, there was no ordinary focus; instead, a faint light like a spiral galaxy circulated within them.

Click.

The hydraulic door of the sealed chamber opened automatically.

Lin Yuan sat up from the hospital bed, his movements appearing somewhat stiff.

He raised his hand and examined his palm with some confusion. It felt like human touch, but every cell was filled with an explosive, unfamiliar power.

”Awake? You’re really awake?”

Academician Wang pushed the door open and entered, holding a portable scanner. In his excitement, he almost tripped over his own feet and fell to the floor.

”Lin Yuan, how do you feel now? Is anything wrong?”

Lin Yuan tried to stand up.

The moment the soles of his feet touched the special alloy floor, they didn’t make a single sound.

He turned his head to look at the few people who had rushed in. The sense of estrangement made him unable to speak immediately.

”Old Chen, Old Wang.”

Lin Yuan finally found his voice. It carried an ethereal vibration, as if sounding directly within the depths of others’ consciousness.

”I seem to have... become a monster.”

As he spoke, he subconsciously reached out to pick up a special titanium alloy cup used for drinking water on the table.

The moment his fingers touched the wall of the cup.

A terrifying scene occurred.

His five fingers actually ’passed through’ the hard metal cup as if they were incorporeal ghosts.

Lin Yuan was stunned.

”This...”

He tried to grasp it again.

This time, he focused his attention slightly, and a layer of extremely faint purple patterns appeared on the surface of his skin.

His fingers finally caught the cup, but before he could even apply force—

Sizzle—

An extremely faint sound, like something being evaporated, rang out.

The titanium alloy water cup, capable of withstanding thousands of degrees, instantly distorted in Lin Yuan’s palm. Then, in a burst of minor spatial fluctuations, the cup was annihilated into the most primitive atomic dust by an incomprehensible energy.

Not even a single fragment remained.

Lin Yuan opened his empty palm somewhat innocently.

”If I said I didn’t do it on purpose, would you believe me?”

The hospital room fell into an eerie silence.

”Scan... quickly, scan him for me!”

Academician Wang snapped back to his senses, frantically pressing the buttons on his instrument and giving Lin Yuan a rapid scan.

”Warning! Extremely high-density energy source detected, exceeding detection limits!”

”Suggestion: Stay away from the target to prevent radiation damage!”

Accompanied by gaia’s urgent and static-filled alarm, the screen of the scanner in Academician Wang’s hand went black, and a burnt smell wafted from it.

”gaia, use the fortress’s main brain computing power to analyze what exactly is going on!”

Chen Weiguo looked at Lin Yuan, his heart filled with both wild joy and apprehension. After all, this young man who was on the brink of death just moments ago now seemed capable of destroying a laboratory with a single gesture.

Two seconds later.

In the South Heaven Gate fortress’s broadcast system, gaia’s voice carried an almost human-like horror and frustration.

”Reporting to the General, reporting to Academician Wang... the logic core cannot fully analyze this life form.”

”According to preliminary calculations, the Commander’s current cellular structure has undergone a qualitative change. His body is no longer pure carbon-based matter, but a balanced entity composed of stable Void Energy and antimatter particles.”

”To put it in common terms, he is now a ’half-energy, half-matter’ Void Lifeform.”

”Due to this characteristic, the Commander can freely switch the degree of his body’s Imaginary-number State, thereby becoming immune to most physical attacks. For example, bullets or shells would be deflected due to spatial curvature or simply pass through him before they even touch him.”

Academician Wang slumped onto the hospital bed where Lin Yuan had originally been lying, muttering incessantly.

”So this is... ascension? Physical ascension?”

He jumped up suddenly and started walking circles around Lin Yuan.

”No wonder that cup disappeared just now. It’s because the Void Energy in your body was repelling that three-dimensional matter, directly degrading it!”

Lin Yuan rubbed his brow.

He could feel that he was indeed like a living, humanoid antimatter reactor now.

He tried clenching his fist, and a muffled sound similar to an electric arc explosion immediately came from the air.

”In other words, I can’t just touch people casually now, or I might recycle you guys as trash?”

He looked at Li Na. She was staring at him with red eyes. Although she felt some fear toward the divine aura about him, it was mostly a feverish joy at having him back.

”No, Commander. As long as you can master this energy output, it will be the most powerful weapon in human history.”

gaia’s voice rang out again.

”I have calculated that your current body can continuously produce energy. Its concentration is sufficient to directly provide infinite power for a mech of the ’mech name’ class. You don’t even need a cockpit; you yourself are the core of the mech.”

Lin Yuan took a deep breath. The weakness brought about by overdrawing his life had completely vanished.

He could feel that every inch of the blood vessels in this new body flowed with the power to destroy stars.

”Since I can’t die, then let’s not waste time.”

Lin Yuan walked out of the intensive care unit.

Because he couldn’t yet fully control the energy overflow within him, every step he took left a slightly corroded footprint glowing with faint blue light on the alloy floor.

”Old Chen, how much antimatter core residue do we have left?”

Chen Weiguo followed quickly beside him.

”Less than twenty percent remains. The rest was sucked dry during your ’body forging’ just now. However, Academician Wang was planning to use the remainder for experiments...”

”No need for experiments. Fill them directly into the main core of the South Heaven Gate fortress’s power furnace.”

Lin Yuan’s voice became resolute and infectious.

”Also, tell all the munitions factories in Great Xia to stop all near-Earth defense satellite production lines.”

Chen Weiguo’s pace faltered, and his expression turned serious.

”Stop production? Even though the aliens have retreated, the threat is still there. If we stop the defense lines...”

”Defense cannot hold forever.”

Lin Yuan stopped walking.

Through the fortress’s massive observation window, he looked at the deep and dark space in the distance.

The afterimage of that vast Mechanical Papacy fleet, enough to fill a galaxy, still lingered in his mind.

”Those stray dogs will come back. And next time, it might not be scouts, but legitimate destroyers.”

He turned his head and looked at Chen Weiguo.

”The South Heaven Gate Project enters its second phase. We don’t need more gun turrets; we need warships.”

”Giant motherships capable of crossing light-years, equipped with antimatter weapons, and able to take the war directly to their home nest.”

”The well that is Earth is too small. We need to build ships and go out to sea.”

Chen Weiguo looked at Lin Yuan’s faintly glowing yet incredibly clear eyes, and the blood in his heart was instantly ignited.

”Build ships... go out to sea...”

The old general clenched his fists and nodded vigorously.

”Fine! As long as you’re alive, the billions of people in Great Xia and the billions around the world will scrape together everything they have to build this fleet for you!”

That afternoon.

The Great Xia authorities issued a global broadcast.

It was a video of Lin Yuan.

In the video, although Lin Yuan’s hair was entirely silver, his upright uniform and soul-stirring aura were transmitted to every corner through the screen.

”We won the first battle, but the war has only just begun.”

”Humanity will no longer tremble inside defense shields. We are going into the depths of the starry sky to take back the freedom that belongs to us.”

The world was in an uproar.

The originally low wartime morale was instantly pushed to its peak at this moment.

People in the ruins walked out of air-raid shelters, looking at the massive phantom of the South Heaven Gate in the sky, and erupted into deafening cheers.

Resource allocation rights skyrocketed, and Great Xia’s productivity began a generational qualitative change under the preliminary application of antimatter technology.

However.

Just as all of humanity was celebrating this rare victory.

In the deepest part of the Earth.

The Pacific Ocean, the Mariana Trench.

Originally, there was only eternal darkness and the terrifying pressure brought by hundreds of millions of tons of seawater.

But when Lin Yuan completed his ’Stellar Core Body Forging,’ the energy aftershocks that penetrated dimensions had for a moment vibrated every inch of molecules deep within the Earth’s crust.

In the deepest, most unknown fault of the trench.

A metal ruin, buried for eons by volcanic ash and thick layers of rock, seemed to sense a kindred aura.

Those rust-stained, massive metal components vibrated slightly on the originally dead seabed.

Zzt—

A faint blue electric spark lit up deep within the silt.

It was a massive mechanical structure with a diameter exceeding a hundred meters.

With the recovery of power.

A structure like a giant camera lens rotated slowly in the silt.

It brushed aside the coral reefs and shipwreck debris covering it.

The next second.

A crimson and massive mechanical cyclopean eye opened without warning at the bottom of this deep sea.

It stared fixedly at the thick layer of water above.

In that eye’s field of vision, it did not see the darkness of the deep sea, but directly locked onto the South Heaven Gate fortress in far-off space.

A high-frequency beacon that could not be intercepted, representing some kind of positioning coordinates.

Suddenly shot from the deep sea toward the dark other side of the starry sky.
