Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 107 Power Outage! The Holy Sword of Physics”Zzzzt—!”

The forty-meter-long plasma light sword swept across, and three half-mechs attempting to latch onto the ghost’s leg were instantly vaporized.

The air was thick with the pungent smell of ozone and burnt metal.

Lin Yuan panted heavily, a layer of fine sweat beading on his forehead. It wasn’t from exhaustion; it was from disgust.

The scene before him was enough to make any trypophobe drop dead on the spot.

Those shredded metal remains didn’t turn into scrap. On the ground, countless black dust particles, barely visible to the naked eye, were squirming frantically—that was the nano-repair swarm that the Titan Civilization prided itself on.

Like industrious ants, they dragged broken mechanical legs, shattered armor plates, and even defective units with only half a head left, scurrying quickly back to the entrance of the conveyor belt.

A few seconds later.

”Click.”

At the end of the conveyor belt, those things that had just been smashed stood up crookedly again, the red light flickering in their single eyes seemingly mocking Lin Yuan’s futility.

”What the hell, this isn’t technology, this is basically an undead scourge!” Lin Yuan cursed, maneuvering his mech in a side-slide to dodge a rivet projectile flying from who knows where.

Unkillable, indestructible, and having to face a production rate of three new units per second.

It was like trying to out-shout a tsunami; it was purely masochistic.

”Captain! Don’t get entangled with them!”

In the communication channel, Academician Wang’s voice was as hurried as if he had just run five kilometers. ”I’ve analyzed the energy circuits here! The core power supply for these defective units is wirelessly transmitted! They don’t have batteries themselves!”

”Wireless transmission?” Lin Yuan’s eyes lit up. ”So, as long as I pull the router, they’ll all be knocked out?”

”Yes! That’s exactly what I mean!”

A holographic structural map instantly overlaid onto Lin Yuan’s field of vision.

At the top of the dim, massive, and complex mechanical factory building, three energy nodes emitting blinding red light were highlighted. Like three hearts, they transported violent energy to the production lines below through countless thick pipelines.

”That makes it easy.” Lin Yuan curled his lips into a cold smile, the demeanor known as the ”Demolition Office Director” returning to him.

”Let me show you a special trick!”

”Boom—!”

The engine nozzles behind the ghost instantly turned from blue to white, erupting with a deafening sonic boom.

The mech didn’t retreat; instead, at the moment countless mechanical zombies pounced, it kicked off the ground and soared into the air! Its altitude increased instantly!

But that wasn’t enough.

Above was not an open sky, but a denser array of hanging tracks, giant mechanical grippers, and crisscrossing alloy beams.

”Zzzzt—”

The moment Lin Yuan ascended, the hidden anti-aircraft fire net on the surrounding walls activated. Hundreds of high-energy laser beams wove into a web of death, sealing off all upward space.

”Bring it on!” Lin Yuan didn’t slow down; instead, he pushed the control stick, his fingers striking the console in a blur.

If you didn’t look outside, you would think he was playing ”Flight of the Bumblebee.”

The ghost in mid-air performed a move that completely defied physical common sense. It forcefully twisted its waist in mid-air and stomped hard on a giant mechanical arm that was sweeping past!

”Clang!” Sparks flew everywhere.

Using this reaction force, the mech, like a black swift, threaded the needle through the gaps in the dense laser beams.

A left roll to dodge two plasma cannon shots.

A side-step to let the gripper of a mechanical arm pass by.

Then, a large loop, landing perfectly on top of a moving overhead crane.

This series of actions was smooth and flowing, without any unnecessary hesitation, like a death parkour performance in a steel jungle.

”The first one!” Lin Yuan growled, the mech having already rushed in front of the first energy node.

It was a red sphere with a diameter of ten meters, wrapped in a thick energy shield.

If it were conventional weapons, it might take half an hour of bombing.

But what was in Lin Yuan’s hands? It was the Holy Sword of Physics, retrofitted with a ”void crystal core” energy circuit!

”Get destroyed!” The ghost didn’t slow down at all. Using the momentum of the sprint, the light sword in its hand, which had expanded to forty meters, pierced into the red sphere without any resistance, just like a hot knife cutting through butter!

”Pfft—Boom!!!”

The violent explosion kicked up a black-red mushroom cloud in mid-air. The shockwave swept across, and one-third of the production lines below instantly lost their luster. The mechanical arms that were originally waving frantically seemed to have their souls drained, hanging down limply.

The red light in the eyes of thousands of mechanical zombies extinguished, and they fell to the ground like trash, making a series of dull thuds.

”It’s effective!” Academician Wang shouted.

Lin Yuan didn’t stop; the engine nozzles turned, and he headed straight for the second node two kilometers away.

However, just as the ghost touched the outer shell of the second node, a sudden change occurred.

There was no physical attack.

There wasn’t even an explosion.

But inside the ghost’s cockpit, the original dim blue lights all turned into an eerie deep purple in that instant.

”Beep—beep—beep—”

This time, the alarm sound wasn’t the usual buzzing, but an extremely sharp, ear-piercing noise like fingernails scratching against glass.

[Warning! Unknown data intrusion detected!]

[Firewall... Error! Logic overflow!]

[Warning! Underlying protocols are being tampered with! Control lost 12%... 25%...]

”What the hell is this?!” Lin Yuan yanked the control stick, only to find that the mech’s right arm—the one that had just pierced the node—wasn’t responding at all!

It hung stiffly in mid-air, the originally blue-white plasma light sword now glowing with an eerie purple light, and it was spreading along the arm toward the mech’s body. That purple light didn’t look like energy; it looked more like living blood vessels, pulsating frantically beneath the metal armor.

”Pain...” A voice abruptly connected to Lin Yuan’s private communication channel. It wasn’t a synthesized mechanical voice. The voice sounded cold, viscous, and carried a hysterical madness, like a lunatic trapped in a metal box for ten thousand years, whispering against your eardrum.

”It hurts so much...”

”Why did you stop... Why won’t you let me build...”

”I want to build... I want to build more children... Only they can protect me...”

Lin Yuan felt a chill shoot from the soles of his feet straight to his crown.

What the hell is this? Is it haunted?!

”Lin Yuan! Disconnect immediately! That’s a ’logic virus’!” Academician Wang’s terrified roar came through. ”That’s the ultimate weapon the Mechanical Papacy used back then to contaminate titan AI! It’s invading the mech’s fire control system along the physical contact surface!”

”It’s eating your system!”

Lin Yuan glanced at the screen; the control loss reading had already jumped to 45%. The mech’s right arm began to tremble uncontrollably, and it even slowly shifted the angle of the light sword, the tip actually pointing toward the cockpit!

The madman’s voice became clearer, carrying a nauseating, demented laugh: ”You too... become my parts... become a part of me...”

At this point, any software-level antivirus was already too late.

This purple data stream was like a rabies virus; as long as there was the slightest contact, it could instantly infect the entire central system.

Once the ghost was possessed, Lin Yuan would not only be trapped here, but he might even be crushed to death by this mech himself.

”Want to eat me?” The terror in Lin Yuan’s eyes faded in an instant, replaced by a ruthlessness known as ”the gambler.”

”Then I’ll break your teeth!”

He didn’t hesitate at all; his fingers slammed open a red physical safety cover and smashed down on the emergency button. It was the ”Emergency Component Detachment” button.

”Click!”

The armor on the ghost’s right shoulder popped open violently, and several high-explosive bolts detonated simultaneously.

”Boom!”

Accompanied by a flash of fire, that expensive right arm, along with the light sword still flickering with purple light, detached directly from the main body!

Physical antivirus.

The most lethal kind.

The ghost, having lost an arm, lost its balance in the air and shook violently. The severed arm fell, and before it hit the ground, it was completely swallowed by the purple light, then twisted and exploded into a pile of scrap metal in mid-air.

”Ahhhhh—!!!”

”Pain! It hurts so much! I want to kill you! Kill you, you bug!”

”What are you screaming for? I’m hurting even more than you!” Lin Yuan gritted his teeth, looking at the ”Right Arm Module Offline” displayed on the screen, his heart dripping with blood.

”If I don’t tear this place into scrap metal, I’ve made a massive loss!”

Lin Yuan laughed in anger, his only remaining left arm clenching into a fist.

The ghost’s engines were at full throttle, no longer performing any evasive maneuvers.

Because at this moment, the crazy AI known as ”Asura” seemed to have suffered a momentary crash, and the surrounding anti-aircraft fire and production lines paused for an instant.

This was the opportunity. The only, fleeting opportunity.

”Overload Mode! Activate!”

Countless crimson energy patterns suddenly lit up on the ghost’s originally pitch-black body surface, as if magma were flowing beneath the armor. Speed increased threefold! It turned into a crimson meteor, carrying a piercing sonic boom, and pierced straight through the darkness.

”Die!”

Lin Yuan had no weapons left. He used the mech’s only remaining left fist, wrapped in all the shield energy, and smashed it hard into the second energy node!

”Boom—!”

The node shattered. Using the thrust of the explosion, the broken mech, like a crazy cannonball, used its shoulder to smash through the third, and final, energy node.

The world collapsed. As all three ”hearts” shattered, the violent energy supporting the operation of the entire industrial zone instantly cut off.

The lights went out.

The teeth-grinding sound of metal cutting disappeared.

The screeching of the conveyor belt disappeared.

Even the madman’s whispers abruptly stopped due to the power loss of its carrier.

The entire world, in this second, fell into absolute darkness and deathly silence.

”Clang...”

The ghost lost power and fell heavily to the ground, sliding hundreds of meters and plowing a deep, spark-filled trench into the hard alloy floor.

The dust settled. Lin Yuan slumped in the pilot’s seat, panting heavily, listening to the sound of the mechanical zombies around him falling to the ground due to the loss of power, as if he were listening to the most wonderful symphony.

He wiped the cold sweat from his face, looked at the completely black screen, and cursed, spitting out a sentence:

”In the future, if anyone tells me that only magic can defeat magic...”

”I’ll let them taste the power of the Holy Sword of Physics!”
