System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1496: Incetta’s Growth

Alexander panicked. He didn’t know of Leysha’s existence after all. All they knew was that Leysha had been executed, so the only suspect was Melissa.

’Not good. If that helper is here, it means they have prepared another plan... Should we retreat right away? But if we retreat, these people will pursue us like crazy.

’At the same time, there are only two spirit transcendences on their side. We have two as well, but we have an ancient demon and its army that can turn around the situation. If we just surround them with these demons, we can let them exhaust their energy before killing them.

’Although we have been fooled, the situation hasn’t changed completely.’ Alexander took a deep breath. It looked like he had panicked unnecessarily. Since the situation is still manageable, they should take action as quickly as possible.

Alexander’s face turned resolute as he shouted, ”Go! Split the army into three. One has to stop that puny human army, the second has to go to the forest and stop that helper. The rest will go with you and take down this person.”

Alexander had chosen to focus all his attack on Incetta. There were two reasons. First, Incetta was the Ardagan family’s navy commander. Her position was high, so losing her would be a great blow.

The second reason was the fact that she had just become a spirit transcendence. Since the depth of her strength as a transcendent was still shallow, he should have an easier time taking her down.

The demon wolf suddenly let out a howl. The demon army split into three according to Alexander’s command.

”...” Incetta furrowed her eyebrows.

Lily said, ’Looks like you are going to be the target, Cetta.’

’I know. But that’s fine. My job here is to stop them. This kind of challenge is enough to keep me occupied.’ Incetta narrowed her eyes while waving her weapon around, killing the surrounding demons.

The ancient demon wolf and Alexander remained in the distance, waiting for an opportunity to attack her.

’As expected, they’re trying to exhaust your energy with cannon fodder first.’

Incetta could also see it.

’There are two ways to proceed. What are they?’ Lily asked.

’Break through from this position and lure out those two. The second way is to withstand their onslaught until Madam Anna comes here. She should be on her way here, or maybe the other spirit transcendence will come. I don’t know who they’re sending, but I’m sure someone will come.’

’Correct.’ Lily smiled. It looked like Incetta had learned everything from her. There were not many things left that she could teach her.

But this was where Incetta surprised her.

’That’s your way, but I have also learned from the greatest lord of all time. There is a third way...’ Incetta smiled. ’Go all out!’

’Huh?’ Lily was dumbfounded. Go all out? What was the deal with that strategy? It was the most ridiculous thing she had ever had. What did she actually learn from Noel? Did her disciple get corrupted?

Incetta actually chose to show what she meant with her actions.

”Spirit Transformation!” Incetta activated her Spirit Transformation. A flowing water created a circle on her back. Her arms, her legs, and her cheeks were covered in green-colored scales. Fins covered her human ears. ”Undine Transformation.”

”!!!” Alexander widened his eyes. ”What is she trying to do?”

The ancient demon was hesitating about whether to attack or not.

Incetta suddenly leaped into the sky and lifted up her hand. ”Come out! Spring of Life.”

The ground cracked as a surge of water broke through the soil and shot into the air. The massive stream quickly flooded the area as the demons had a hard time swimming or resisting the sheer force of the wave.

Incetta then snapped her fingers as the surging wave suddenly moved in the same direction.

”No, wait... Don’t tell me... She’s trying to flood the demon army?” Alexander recognized her plan almost immediately. If the flood swept the entire army, it would scatter around the area. It would make it easier to kill them. Besides, numerous demons would die as a result.

”No. We can’t let her do it. Stop her!” Alexander shouted.

The demon wolf also charged forward. The rest of the demons joined hands and created a barrier with their demonic energy. Even though they were weaker than Incetta, the wave had spread so far that Incetta’s control was weakened severely.

Hence, the wave couldn’t break through the barrier and dispersed to two sides.

The demon wolf gathered its strength and let out a massive beam from its mouth.

Incetta thrust her spear forward, using the tip of her spear to scatter the beam so none would reach her. The water around the tip of the spear helped move the beam’s flow away from her.

Alexander leaped into the air and punched her from above.

Incetta’s spear turned into a sword as she struck Alexander’s fist from the side, deflecting it.

”Tsk.” Alexander clicked his tongue. ’This is too troublesome? Do I have any other choice? If it continues like this, she can fight us for at least twenty minutes. We have to weaken her faster...’

Alexander thought this was the best idea to kill Incetta. However, the true goal of the flood revealed itself.

”Kill them!” Dylan’s voice echoed on the battlefield once more.

”!!!” Alexander widened his eyes. They had forgotten about Dylan. Although one of the three parts of the demon army was there to stop Dylan, he managed to stop them by dividing his army as well.

Due to the barrier, the flood dispersed in two directions, which created a water barrier in the middle of the demon army. This line was practically telling Dylan to attack the other part of the demon army. It had a smaller number, but it still had two thousand demons.

Still, Dylan led one hundred men directly toward this group and killed as many demons as possible.

This was Incetta’s plan. She had never intended to use full strength to fight the ancient demon wolf or Alexander.

She just wanted to create a disaster and used Dylan as her spear to weaken the demon army. Once a certain number were gone, the demon army had no choice but to retreat.

In other words, she didn’t bother to wait until Anna came. She intended to end it as quickly as possible.
