System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1487: Everchanging Sword Style?

Boom!

The supreme devil also received a similar attack on the other side. The power of the explosion couldn’t be measured in the same way as a normal explosion.

Even though these explosions weren’t bigger, the supreme devil and the third prince had to spend even more energy just to protect themselves, almost getting frozen or burned by that power.

”Tsk!” Both of them gritted their teeth. As Alexander’s disciple, the supreme devil obviously recognized this power. The demon king had also experienced this power.

On the other hand, Noel was completely immersed in his ancestor’s teaching.

”Do you understand now? They are your power. You should have been the one in control of your power, not the other way around. All this time, you must have been thinking about complicated things such as their characteristics or everything, when the real answer is at the origin of your power. What is the origin of your power?”

”Spiritual Energy.” Noel muttered.

”Correct.”

Noel felt like a door was opened in his heart. That was right. The foundation of everything was spiritual energy. And this spiritual energy was the last thing he had to figure out to become a spirit king.

What he should care about the most was not his element but his spiritual energy. If his element didn’t allow it to be controlled, he just had to control the spiritual energy, which was the one that allowed that flame to manifest in this world.

In other words, it didn’t matter if it was the strongest flame in the world. Without spiritual energy, it couldn’t manifest.

He had been wrong about it the whole time. The answer was so simple that he had never thought it was the answer.

Noel raised his sword, trying to manifest that power one more time.

”Kh.” As expected, without the help of his ancestor, he had a hard time controlling the spiritual energy. At the same time, he realized that controlling them had become possible.

”Obey me!” Noel shouted. The energy erupted and caused a conflict within his body. It felt like his body was burned from the outside and frozen from the inside. It felt like a cold night where his body was freezing, but as soon as he covered himself in a quilt, he would sweat.

His body was confused about whether to be frozen from the ice element or burned from the fire element.

The fire element from Ardagan was overwhelming. It wanted to swallow the ice, but it had a hard time doing so. Heisk’ ice was getting supported by his Spirit Brain and Spirit Heart, which gave her more energy, allowing it to balance the power of Ardagan’s fire.

Still, Noel could feel that the energy was assimilating. It was still the first step, but he managed to control both of them together at the same time. He didn’t have to release fire from his right hand and ice from his left hand anymore.

He poured this energy into his sword.

”!!!” The supreme devil and the third prince widened their eyes in shock.

”Blue Fire...”

”Jump!” The demon king shouted.

Noel waved his sword horizontally.

The two enemies managed to jump at the last moment as the sword strike traveled below them. However, the same couldn’t be said for the demons or anything behind them.

All of them were cut in two as their upper bodies were sent flying into the air. All the trees had their trunks flying in the sky. Only when it fell to the ground could anyone see the true power of that strike.

Everything... Everything within 2 kilometers was cut cleanly. The trunks were frozen and covered by a thick layer of ice, but for some reason, their bodies gradually disappeared as though they were reduced to ashes.

Everyone, whether it was Tristan, Raven, or the soldiers, dropped their jaws to the ground. The power was something they had never seen before. Even the supreme devil and the third prince had no choice but to avoid it. If the ancient demon stood in its way, it would be cut no matter how powerful its defense was.

”We can’t let him succeed! Don’t ever let him succeed!” The demon king shouted as he rushed toward Noel.

The supreme devil gritted his teeth and followed his lead. Both of them knew what kind of power this was. It was the same power as the one Alexander wielded. They couldn’t allow another spirit king to be born.

Noel was immersed in this new power, but he got distracted by the two enemies. The energy he gathered slipped away as he had no choice but to block them.

”Kh.” Noel gritted his teeth. His fire and ice fought against each other in his body, causing some internal injuries.

Still, Noel did everything he could to release them. Each of his strikes was on a whole different level than the previous one, but none of them hit. Noel’s condition deteriorated due to the conflicting elements.

”There’s not much energy left within the scroll. So, I will give you one more lesson. You have been controlling your power within your will, but you have something that no one else ever has, including me. Don’t forget that you have Ardagan.

”Ardagan is your partner. And your partner has given you something much more precious. Don’t you think you have something perfect to control this rampaging energy?”

”!!!” Noel was surprised. He wondered what he was talking about. Did he actually have something that could become the foundation of everything? No, it was not the foundation. It was the gate that allowed everything to channel properly. In other words, it was the thing that held the authority over everything he had.

If it were like the king, it would be the crown. Then what about him? He had all kinds of power: runes, fire, ice, and even his swordsmanship. What could actually become the symbol of all his power?

Each of them was different. Yet, this difference somehow reminded him of one thing that managed to unify all the differences.

”Everchanging Emotion Sword Style?”
