System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1453: Change

”Yes. Do you know that... Mother and Father are still alive?”

”!!!” Raincart couldn’t help but widen his eyes in surprise. ”What did you say?”

Noel had thought about this before his arrival. His parents hadn’t told anyone other than him regarding their survival. Of course, telling others would give people a chance to realize they were still alive. It would definitely cause a lot of problems for them.

At the same time, this was probably the perfect time to tell Raincart about it. In the end, he was his grandfather as well as Leysha’s father.

It would only be fair for him to find out about their survival.

Raincart was trembling, his face turning pale. There was no way he could believe such a thing. After all, he had prepared their funerals when they were executed, and he was aware that Noel was exiled for that reason.

Still, he wanted to believe they were still alive. The image of him unable to do anything for several things after hearing the news of their deaths was still vivid in his mind.

There were no grandparents who would like to have their children or grandchildren die before them. He would take care of their family to the very end. That was what he had promised his wife.

”Are you...” Raincart’s voice was cracking.

Noel could see how shaken he was from his reaction. Before replying to him, Noel sneakily glanced at Anna and Tristan and nodded his head.

Anna and Tristan nodded back as they quietly left the room. This was the biggest reason Noel took this opportunity to invite his grandfather here.

”I have heard everything from them. The Ardagan family can’t survive on that land anymore. To ensure the Ardagan family’s prosperity, it’s necessary to destroy it and rebuild it again. The task of building it is in my hands.

”Of course, I hadn’t known about their plans in the past. I learned it only about two years ago.

”By destroying the Ardagan family, the people from the Supreme Devil Organization, who had been targeting my father in the past, thought the foundation of the Ardagan family had been destroyed.

”As a result, those people didn’t target me right away. Instead, they thought I was just someone who could be destroyed if they wanted it, which made their efforts rather lacking. Uncle Laufey was also in the plan, and he is currently working under me.

”Thanks to them, I was able to find their headquarters and crush it. Although it will still take time to completely destroy them, this is a necessary step to end it once and for all.”

Raincart gritted his teeth. ”It doesn’t matter. Do you understand what has happened to you? Thanks to their scheme, you have been suffering all this time!”

”They had asked Dimitri to always protect me, so I was fine.” Noel shook his head.

”No. It doesn’t matter. Dimitri or whoever... the moment they did this, they ceased being your parents. You were thrown into the wilderness without any preparation. At the very least, they should let you know from the beginning. How can a parent do something like that?

”This is already beyond what tough love can do.” Raincart gritted his teeth. Sadness, anger, and disbelief mixed together, making it hard for him to process everything.

Noel understood his worries. For his grandfather, Raincart would definitely say that they should grow even bigger so that those problems wouldn’t need their son to solve. They should use other things to train their son to make him a proper patriarch.𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

That was why he couldn’t agree with their method. This was the exact reason Leysha had never told Raincart about their plan.

Still, Raincart had the right to know. To advance forward, Raincart had to know their plans and proceed accordingly.

Noel smiled wryly before pumping his fists. ”Don’t worry, Grandfather. I have punished both of them on your behalf. A good old punch of love.”

”...” Raincart clicked his tongue. ”You don’t understand. The reason you’re able to even think like this instead of blaming them is because of their actions. In the end, their action has made you think this is tough love, not abuse... think this is necessary, not torture!”

Noel fell silent. From Raincart’s perspective, it would look as he described. In fact, if Anna weren’t here, he would probably think the same.

No, he couldn’t help but wonder whether he had actually met his parents or not in his previous life. After all, he had been targeted by Anna his entire life, so that desperate life might cause him to hate his parents and never meet them.

In his previous life, he might actually have had the same thought as Raincart. But he had his own principles in this life.

”I understand your worry, Grandfather. I might have the same thoughts now that I think about this, but that’s only if Anna were not by my side.”

”!!!” Raincart looked into his eyes. That was right. He forgot the biggest variable. It was Anna.

”I hated Anna a lot in the past, but I can grow to be the person I am today because of her. Even my parents couldn’t predict Anna changing me to this extent...” Noel was smiling inwardly. There was no way they could have predicted Anna’s rebirth in this timeline.

And thanks to Anna, Noel knew that they should look toward the future instead of the past.

”Thanks to her, I know how to learn from the past, live in the present, and look into the future. That’s why I choose to look into the future, Grandfather.

”I’m able to move forward because of her. That’s why I love her so much.” Noel took a deep breath. ”Don’t worry about them. Maybe... once all of this is over, you can punish them as you like. However, I believe that this is where we have to move forward.”

Raincart still couldn’t accept it. He was thankful to Anna, but his parents were a whole different problem.

But for the sake of his grandchild, it looked like he had no choice but to turn a blind eye for the time being.
