Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

As Lin Yu finished eating the entire cake, everyone was once again stunned by his madness. The first to speak up was his temporary teammate in this round—Robin.

”Fluoxetine, what exactly have you done?!”

”Without food exchanged from the [Flavor Papers], how are we supposed to win this round?!”

Though Robin’s voice wasn’t loud, for this somewhat socially withdrawn girl, it was already a hoarse shout. Lin Yu simply smiled without responding.

”It’s simple...”

He pulled out a fresh stack of yellow papers from his hand—a thick bundle of over fifty sheets once again.

”I still have reserves.”

At Lin Yu’s words, the other players present were shocked.

”Why do you still have [Flavor Papers]?!” Li Hua couldn’t help but ask.

”Because the [cupcake] just now didn’t actually cost ’59 sheets’, of course,” Lin Yu said, causing everyone present to tense up.

”You bastard actually lied!” Fish exclaimed indignantly.

”So what if I did? What can you do about it?” Lin Yu playfully stuck out his tongue at Fish.

Radish and Mosin-Nagant looked equally shocked. Only Phantom couldn’t help but applaud lightly.

”What excellent misdirection... Honestly, Miss ’Fluoxetine’, if you chose to become a magician, your achievements would be extraordinary.”

”I completely failed to notice those earlier [Flavor Papers] were actually illusions!”

After Phantom finished speaking, Lin Yu smiled and said, ”So I still have ’58 sheets’ of [Flavor Papers] in hand!”

”Everyone—my apologies, but checkmate.”

After pausing briefly, Lin Yu continued, ”Now—I’ll exchange these [Flavor Papers] for two food items!”

As his words fell, the Flavor Papers in Lin Yu’s hand dissolved into light particles again. Then...

Two food items descended from the sky, each exchanged from 29 [Flavor Papers]—one was a rice ball wrapped in seaweed, the other some kind of wrap. Both portions were as large as an adult man’s head.

Lin Yu caught them and placed both items on the table. Li Hua spoke coldly: ”Everyone, we haven’t lost yet... The final offensive is just beginning.”

All eyes were fixed intently on the two food items on the table, their attention completely captured. Then...

Lin Yu suddenly knocked on the table.

”Tap, tap!”

After two crisp sounds, Robin beside him froze momentarily.

”Now.”

With Lin Yu’s soft utterance, he suddenly reached toward Robin’s side—not where the food was stacked. Then...

A notebook and a small box were thrown onto the table—the orange void drawn by Robin appeared again.

Moments later, before anyone could react...

The notebook and box, emerging from a blue void above the dining table, landed precisely on the names in front of Radish and Phantom!

”I choose to [support] Pitian and White Drace!” Lin Yu’s amused voice rang out.

The notebook and black box disappeared!

Having seen this move once before, the remaining players should have been able to react. But...

Because everyone’s attention had been captured by the food in front of Lin Yu, they were all half a beat too slow. By the time they realized what was happening, the items had already fallen into the names!

”Whoosh—!”

Above Pitian’s area, the black box appeared and fell to the ground with a ”thud.” In White Drace’s area, the notebook also dropped to the ground.

Everyone looked at Lin Yu in confusion. ”What does this mean?”

Even Lin Yu’s teammate Robin was puzzled. ”So... what’s actually going on?!”

From the beginning, Robin’s mental state had been like a rollercoaster ride. When she saw Lin Yu exchange all the [Flavor Papers] for one food item, she already felt something was wrong. But at that time, Robin could still comfort herself:

”Maybe ’Fluoxetine’ has her own plan... Perhaps one food item can still secure final victory.”

Then when Lin Yu ate that [cupcake], Robin felt dizzy with shock!

”What is she doing?!”

”Trusting someone from the [Psychological Society]... I must be insane!”

”She’s deliberately sabotaging me.”

But when Lin Yu inexplicably produced a fresh stack of 58 [Flavor Papers]...

Robin’s hope was rekindled again.

Lin Yu exchanged for two food items. Though 29 [Flavor Papers] per side might not seem entirely secure, as long as they were delivered, the chance of winning was definitely over seventy percent!

Just when Robin thought everything would proceed to the final ”all-out offensive” phase as Li Hua had said...

Lin Yu suddenly knocked on the table—their prearranged signal. Part of what Lin Yu had whispered in her ear earlier:

”Later, first use your geometric shapes to block everyone’s view... This can also prevent them from throwing items between our names.”

”You can do that, right?”

”I can... Good—then let me ask, that ’Magic Brush Ma Liang’ ability of yours that turns drawings into reality, are there any limitations? Can you draw objects with 100% accuracy? Can you control the timing of when they become real?”

”You really can? That’s perfect—after the wall goes up, I’ll need you to draw something for me with delayed activation.”

After the wall was erected, they discussed specifics:

”Hmm—please draw it in this notebook!”

”Yes, copy exactly what’s in this lens!”

”After it’s drawn, when I tap the table twice, throw these two [items] onto Li Hua and Phantom’s names—the notebook is for Phantom, the other item is for Li Hua. First demonstrate your most reliable throwing method, then I’ll coordinate with you.”

As the game progressed with Lin Yu’s continuous maneuvers, Robin had almost forgotten these instructions! She even began to think the plan had changed.

So now, after the original plan was executed, Robin looked at Lin Yu and couldn’t help asking: ”Why use these two items instead of the food exchanged from the [Flavor Papers] in front of you?”

”Because it’s not secure enough,” Lin Yu shook his head. ”Sending just 30 food items, while having a high chance of winning, might still result in failure.”

”I promised you we’d win this round with 100% certainty!”

As Lin Yu finished speaking...

On White Drace’s field, the fallen notebook opened. Then...

The ”drawing” on it became reality—a silver-white cross emerged from it, appearing in White Drace’s area!
