Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 493: Chapter 456: Pain

A figure appeared out of nowhere, its movements uncanny.

She raised the kitchen knife in her hand and, without a hint of hesitation, chopped down at Li Qian’s body.

She looked as if she intended to hack him to pieces.

Fortunately, at the critical moment, the Six-tailed Cat used a Telekinesis Skill to immobilize the target.

The Six-tailed Cat recognized the intruder, so it didn’t use lethal force, simply restraining her with a Skill.

”Meeoow!”

After immobilizing the woman, it let out a sharp cry.

The sound was so piercing it could be heard throughout all of Building One.

Li Qian was instantly jolted awake.

Startled awake, he saw a figure by his bed, frozen in place by the moonlight filtering through the window.

He jumped in fright!

He knew this person all too well!

And it was that very familiarity that left him shocked, bewildered, and at a complete loss for what to do.

The person standing before his bed, brandishing a kitchen knife as if she wanted nothing more than to be rid of him, was none other than his own mother, Han Yuqing.

In that moment, her usual kind and gentle demeanor was nowhere to be found.

Her expression was terrifyingly sinister.

Her eyes even held a faint, blood-red glint.

Seeing his mother like this, Li Qian’s mind nearly shut down.

But he quickly snapped out of it.

Without a shred of hesitation, he contacted Qizai and Xiaoliu through their Soul Contract, telling them to bring the Tidal Sea Spirit over.

As he used the Soul Contract to have Qizai and Xiaoliu summon the Tidal Sea Spirit, Li Qian himself also sprang into action.

He had the Six-tailed Cat use its Telekinesis Skill to move his mother, whose state was clearly not normal, out of Building One and onto the flat ground outside.

Clad only in his pajamas, he followed right behind her out of Building One.

Given his current physical constitution, the winter chill was nothing.

He didn’t have to wait long. Soon, Li Qian’s Pet Beasts, Qizai and Xiaoliu, brought the Tidal Sea Spirit over.

”Wooooo...”

The Tidal Sea Spirit saw Li Qian and let out its signature, plaintive cry.

Clearly, it didn’t know why its master had summoned it.

Li Qian had no intention of explaining.

He looked at the Tidal Sea Spirit and issued a direct command.

”Tidal Sea Spirit, use the Purification Technique! Now!”

Sensing the urgency in Li Qian’s voice, the Tidal Sea Spirit didn’t hesitate for a second and immediately unleashed the Purification Technique.

A pale blue light instantly enveloped his mother, Han Yuqing’s, body.

As the blue light enveloped her, his mother Han Yuqing’s expression instantly became savage.

”AAAAHHH...”

She roared and shrieked, her face like that of a Demon.

Watching this scene, Li Qian’s heart throbbed with pain.

’This is my own mother!’

’To think she has to suffer such agonizing torment!’

In that moment, his heart was incomparably cold.

He would absolutely not let this matter rest.

He would make the Blood Demon Sect pay a terrible, terrible price.

Yes, by now, Li Qian was certain that the Blood Demon Sect was behind tonight’s calamity.

The pale blue light continued to envelop her, and his mother, Han Yuqing, let out a bestial Howling.

Li Qian could hear the pain, struggle, and hysteria in her cries.

Although his heart ached with unbearable pain, he did not hesitate.

”Tidal Sea Spirit, continue!”

he commanded, his voice frigid.

Because she was physically restrained by the Six-tailed Cat’s Telekinesis Skill, his mother, Han Yuqing, could only passively endure the pain of the Purification Skill.

But there was no other way.

It was the only method Li Qian could currently think of to save her.

She shrieked nonstop.

Just then, at the base’s Central Pond, a Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragon suddenly shot into the air and rocketed toward Li Qian’s position.

It was the Cyan-Scaled Flood Dragon, Ah Fu!

Ah Fu flew into the air, its eyes glowing with a faint red light.

It conjured a massive, spinning orb of Water out of thin air.

The orb of Water shot directly toward Li Qian’s position.

Seeing this, Qizai leaped out without a shred of hesitation, likewise condensing a high-speed, rotating orb of Water and blasting it back.

BOOM!

The two orbs of Water collided in midair, instantly setting off a violent explosion.

At almost the same instant, from another direction in the base, a giant eagle with a wingspan of roughly ten meters took flight and swooped in.

It was his mother’s other Pet Beast—an Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle!

Li Qian had also brought an Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle with him on this outing.

His Extreme Fierce Sky Escape Eagle saw this, took to the air, and soon clashed with his mother’s in mid-flight.

Seeing this, Li Qian’s brow furrowed deeply.

’Looks like it’s not just Mother. Even her two Pet Beasts have been greatly affected.’

Back at the base, the violent explosion and major incident had, of course, been noticed immediately by his father, Li Chengyang, and the others.

They came rushing over.

”Don’t stop, continue!”

Li Qian watched intently.

Bathed in the pale blue light, his mother, Han Yuqing, continuously struggled and convulsed, letting out burst after burst of ragged screams.

Unmoved, Li Qian endured the pain in his heart and had the Tidal Sea Spirit continue to use the Purification Technique.

He knew with perfect clarity that if he couldn’t force out the Blood Spirit Gu that was most likely lurking inside his mother’s body, this tragedy would not end.

And so, in that moment, though conflicted and in great pain, Li Qian did not waver in the slightest.

”Dad, don’t come over! All of you, stay right there!” Li Qian roared upon seeing his father, Li Chengyang, rushing toward them with a face full of anxiety.

He shouted the warning, his eyes fixed warily on his father, Li Chengyang.

Li Qian was now genuinely worried.

He was worried that his father, like his mother, had also been possessed by a Blood Spirit Gu.

”What’s going on, Xiaotian?”

His father, Li Chengyang, was the picture of confusion, but beyond that, there was also shock and horror on his face.

He didn’t know exactly what was happening, but he could see that his wife was currently in extreme agony.

”Dad, trust me. I’ll handle this!”

”The most important thing for you all right now is... don’t go anywhere. Just stay right there!”

Li Qian planned to have the Tidal Sea Spirit use its Purification Technique to scan everyone in the base once his mother’s issue was resolved.

He wanted to eliminate any other potential hidden threats within the base.

The torment continued...

The heartache didn’t lessen in the slightest...

This continued for about ten minutes. Just as Li Qian’s confidence was beginning to waver and he was preparing to have the Tidal Sea Spirit stop, a blood-colored, fleshy worm—about as thick as a thumb and nearly half a meter long—drilled its way out from between his mother Han Yuqing’s eyebrows, accompanied by an agonized, wretched wail.

”So it really was you vermin!” Li Qian’s face filled with hatred as he saw the blood-colored worm emerge from between his mother’s eyebrows.
