Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 467: Chapter 433: Hell Qilin Wolf

Deep Elemental Plane.

In a certain valley, a middle-aged man—wearing a straw hat and a cloak, a getup that looked a little dramatic—was in the middle of a battle.

He was commanding a giant, armored elephant to fight a Pet Beast that looked something like a crocodile.

Suddenly, a Pet Beast standing beside him—one that resembled a qilin but had the head of a wolf—let out a soft whimper.

”You’re saying you sensed the fluctuations of an energy collision, and it’s at least Saint Spirit Level.” Through their Soul Contract, the middle-aged man understood what his Pet Beast was trying to convey.

”Old Wolf, go. Let’s end this fight quickly.”

Unsure of what was happening over there, the middle-aged man didn’t dare to delay. He prepared to investigate the situation.

If a human Beast Master was in danger, he could lend a hand and rescue them.

That was why the battle here had to be finished as quickly as possible.

He had originally planned to use this as a chance to train his Pet Beast further, but it seemed that opportunity was gone.

With the second Pet Beast joining the fray—one whose strength was clearly much greater than the two currently fighting—the battle quickly became one-sided.

Finally, the battle came to a complete end when the middle-aged man threw his Beast Taming Ball, capturing the critically injured, dying crocodile-like Pet Beast inside.

Putting away the Beast Taming Ball, the middle-aged man shook his head and muttered with some regret, ”It’s a shame. The powerful Pet Beasts in these Deep Elemental Planes have almost all been tainted by the destructive aura within the Energy. They have little to no rationality left, otherwise they’d make excellent candidates for a contract.”

With that thought, he leaped into the air, did a backflip, and landed with considerable flair on the back of the wolf-headed qilin beast.

Immediately after, the wolf-headed qilin beast stomped its front paws, then shot into the sky, flying at an incredible speed toward the source of the energy fluctuations.

’I wonder who’s fighting?’ In mid-air, the middle-aged man strained his eyes, trying to get a clear view of the source as quickly as possible.

After flying for some distance, his expression suddenly changed drastically.

As the distance closed, he too could feel the energy fluctuations. But besides the fluctuations, he also identified a different kind of aura.

’That’s the aura of a Guardian Beast from the Eight Schools Alliance!’

Upon sensing this aura, he instinctively urged his mount on, and the wolf-headed qilin beast beneath him suddenly accelerated.

Guardian Beasts were a special class of Pet Beast that the eight schools had specifically trained in recent years.

Their Power Level was at least Emperor Level, with a fair number reaching the Saint Spirit Level.

The sole purpose of raising these Guardian Beasts was to protect the geniuses and prodigies of the Alliance who had not yet fully matured.

This was to prevent them from falling prematurely due to some unforeseen accident.

It was also a countermeasure against the pervasive assassination attempts by Cult Organizations.

Furthermore, because all Guardian Beasts were raised using the same rare Extraordinary Resource, they all carried a unique aura. Whenever they used their Energy, this aura would spread along with the resulting fluctuations.

Nearly all the upper echelons of the Eight Schools Alliance knew about this. In theory, if they encountered such a situation, they were to intervene and help without hesitation.

This was precisely why the middle-aged man’s expression had changed so drastically just moments ago.

A genius from the Eight Schools Alliance had actually appeared in this Deep Elemental Plane!

As he hurried onward, he was also quite puzzled.

’How could a genius from the Alliance be in this Deep Elemental Plane? This is already a fourth-floor Dimension Plane. Even a Saint Spirit Level Peak Beast Master like me has to be extremely cautious here!’

The middle-aged man muttered to himself as he directed his Pet Beast to fly faster, ”As far as I know, there are no records of any geniuses from our Jiangnan Beast Taming University ever coming here...”

Meanwhile, as the middle-aged man was muttering to himself, Li Qian had already ridden Qizai back to the shore of the small pond.

He didn’t immediately order Qizai to dive into the water. Instead, he turned back to continue watching the battle between the Golden Radiance Sword and the Bat-winged Azure Dragon.

Gradually, Li Qian began to see something was amiss, and a grave expression appeared on his face.

Although the Golden Radiance Sword and the Bat-winged Azure Dragon were both Saint Spirit Level Pet Beasts, it seemed the Golden Radiance Sword’s Power Level was slightly inferior to the Bat-winged Azure Dragon’s.

At first, they seemed evenly matched and it was hard to tell, but as the battle dragged on, the trend became increasingly obvious.

It was clear that the Golden Radiance Sword was slowly being pushed into a disadvantage.

Seeing that the situation was turning sour, Li Qian decided not to delay any longer.

He was going to try and see if he could contact the Golden Radiance Sword and retreat with it.

’Elder Jin Yao, Elder Jin Yao...’ Li Qian called out in his mind using Telepathy.

’What is it, little one? Don’t you know you can’t get distracted during a fight?’ After calling out a few times without a response, Li Qian thought he couldn’t get through and was about to act alone when a voice like a great, resonant bell suddenly rang in his mind.

Li Qian knew it had to be the Golden Radiance Sword responding to him. He communicated again via Telepathy, ’Elder, there’s no point in continuing this fight. We should retreat first.’

’We could have before, but not anymore!’ the great, resonant voice rang out again.

However, what Elder Jin Yao said left Li Qian quite confused.

’What’s going on?’

’What does it mean, we could have before, but not anymore?’

Just as Li Qian was completely baffled, the Golden Radiance Sword’s voice continued, offering an explanation, ’Reinforcements are here. I have to keep it occupied.’

”Reinforcements are here?” Hearing this, a look of joy spread across Li Qian’s face.

He knew very well that the Golden Radiance Sword wouldn’t lie to him at a time like this.

The only possibility was that reinforcements were really on their way!

Along with his joy, a hint of anticipation couldn’t help but appear on Li Qian’s face.

”They’re here!” Li Qian stopped in his tracks and stared. Soon, a ball of light on the horizon caught his attention.

The ball of light shot over at an incredible speed, its target none other than the Bat-winged Azure Dragon entangled with the Golden Radiance Sword.

BOOM!

Tangled up with the Golden Radiance Sword, the Bat-winged Azure Dragon had no time to dodge and took the full force of the light ball’s attack.

An explosion erupted on its body, sending out a violent shockwave.

Even near the small pond, Li Qian felt the shockwave. It was so strong it nearly knocked him into the water.

This just went to show how powerful the attack was.

Amidst the explosion, a figure shot over from the horizon at extreme speed.

”A Hell Qilin Wolf!” Watching the approaching figure, Li Qian recognized it instantly. He continued to stare, only then noticing the middle-aged man on its back.

It was just that the man’s entrance—with his straw hat and cloak billowing in the wind—looked so incredibly cringey that the corner of Li Qian’s eye couldn’t help but twitch.
