Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 471: Chapter 437: Aura of Destruction

Duan Kong’s arrival resolved the crisis facing Irina and Bai Bingbing.

The four of them regrouped and started to head back.

With Teacher Duan around, dealing with that Demon Realm Three-headed Dog would surely be no problem.

”Teacher Duan, something seemed... off about that Bat-winged Azure Dragon from before,” Li Qian said, a thought suddenly occurring to him as they walked back.

Duan Kong replied, ”You mean how the Bat-winged Azure Dragon seemed irrational and frenzied?”

”Yes.” Li Qian nodded.

”In fact, it wasn’t just the Bat-winged Azure Dragon.”

Duan Kong explained, ”This is the case for any high-level Pet Beast from a Deep Elemental Plane.”

”Why?” Li Qian asked, still confused.

”Energy.”

Duan Kong calmly uttered a single word before continuing, ”Although the Energy within a Deep Elemental Plane is much denser, it contains a destructive aura.”

”From what I know, any Pet Beast that absorbs too much Energy from a Deep Elemental Plane will begin to show symptoms: bloodlust, frenzy, chaos, and a complete loss of reason.”

”You’ll come to understand this yourself. As your Power Level increases, neither the Ancestral Star nor the Shallow Elemental Planes will be able to satisfy your Pet Beast’s needs for growth. You’ll have no choice but to enter the Deep Elemental Planes.”

Upon hearing this, Li Qian nodded and then asked, ”I see. So, when that happens, how do you deal with it?”

”It’s simple. There are two ways.”

Duan Kong held up two fingers. ”First, control the amount of Energy they absorb.”

Li Qian nodded. That was easy enough to understand.

”Second, you use the Soul Contract to have the Beast Master and Pet Beast share the burden.”

”Human Civilization discovered long ago that the human body’s tolerance for the Energy from Deep Elemental Planes is far greater than that of Pet Beasts.”

”When combined with certain special Meditation Methods, we can effectively neutralize this destructive aura.”

”Furthermore, by using the Soul Contract to share the Deep Elemental Plane Energy absorbed by the Pet Beast, a Beast Master can simultaneously increase their own power.”

A look of sudden realization dawned on Li Qian’s face as he heard this.

He had previously wondered why high-Power Level Beast Masters could also perform incredible feats of agility.

After all, humans themselves weren’t Extraordinary Creatures.

Now, he finally understood the fundamental reason why.

Teacher Duan’s next words confirmed his realization. ”As we all know, humans aren’t inherently Extraordinary Creatures. However, if we can use a Pet Beast as a medium to absorb Energy from the Deep Elemental Planes, humans can also evolve into Extraordinary Creatures, even awakening a second Beast Taming Talent, a third Beast Taming Talent...”

These words made Li Qian’s head spin.

It completely overturned his previous understanding of the world.

Beside him, Irina and Bai Bingbing were also listening intently. This was information they had to master on their path to becoming stronger.

Perhaps because their Power Levels hadn’t been high enough, neither their instructors nor their mothers had ever mentioned these things to them.

Bai Bingbing was simply stunned by what she heard.

Irina, on the other hand, fell into a contemplative state as many things slowly started to click into place for her.

In truth, it wasn’t that her mother, Teacher Han Ke, had revealed nothing at all.

She had just been quietly laying the groundwork for her.

For example, by having her learn the Profound Heart Meditation Method.

At first, she couldn’t understand why, because the Profound Heart Meditation Method was no more efficient at increasing one’s Spiritual Power than the most basic Meditation Method.

Now, she finally understood the reason completely.

As they talked, the four of them arrived at a flat patch of ground on the hillside, where the pitch-black Dimensional Rift remained open.

”This is it!” Li Qian said, pointing to the Dimensional Rift.

Without hesitation, Duan Kong once again took the lead and entered the Dimensional Rift.

In the blink of an eye, the world shifted, and the four of them reappeared in the Underground Palace Stone Chamber.

”Teacher Liang isn’t here!” Back inside the Underground Palace Stone Chamber, Li Qian’s eyes immediately swept the room, but he saw no sign of Teacher Liang.

”Let’s head up at once. Something might have happened on the surface,” Bai Bingbing said, instantly realizing the implication. As she spoke, she was already heading for the corridor.

Li Qian had the same thought and followed right behind her.

Logically, Teacher Liang would never have left this place unless something had gone wrong.

The four entered the corridor, moving quickly, and soon arrived at the exit.

At the exit, a number of Guards were standing alert.

When they saw the four of them appear, their faces lit up with joy.

Clearly, Teacher Liang must have told them what to expect, which was why they weren’t surprised by their appearance.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The four had just stepped out of the corridor, before the Guards had a chance to explain what was happening, when the sound of repeated explosions from the eastern side of Luoying City reached them.

Hearing the explosions, the four knew what was going on without needing an explanation.

For Teacher Liang, Teacher Yang, and Captain Hao all to be mobilized, and for there to be such a huge commotion—they didn’t need to think twice to know it was that Saint Spirit Level Demon Realm Three-headed Dog stirring up trouble again.

”Teacher Duan!” Li Qian said, quickly turning to Duan Kong after realizing what was happening.

”Don’t worry. It can’t cause much trouble,” Duan Kong said with complete confidence.

With that, he glanced at the Hell Qilin Wolf by his side, which had shrunk to the size of a normal wolfhound.

The Hell Qilin Wolf’s mind was linked with its Beast Master’s, and it instantly understood his intent. ⅇℓ.

Its body suddenly swelled, and in the blink of an eye, it had returned to its full size—ten meters long and seven or eight meters tall.

Before the Guards could even recover from their shock, the Hell Qilin Wolf had already transformed into a streak of light and shot off into the distance.

”Let’s go take a look as well,” Duan Kong said with a wave of his hand after sending the Hell Qilin Wolf ahead to provide support.

Seeing him stride off toward the eastern city wall, Li Qian and the other two naturally followed close behind.

Meanwhile, as Li Qian and his group made their way toward the scene, the battle on the eastern wall between Teacher Liang, Teacher Yang, Captain Hao, and the Demon Realm Three-headed Dog had reached a stalemate.

”Just as I thought. Last time, this beast was injured and couldn’t use its full strength, which is why it retreated.”

Teacher Yang said with a sense of helplessness, ”Now its wounds are healed, and it’s back to cause more trouble. What a pain.”

”It’s not like you don’t know,” Teacher Liang said. ”These High-level Pet Beasts from the Deep Elemental Planes have barely any rationality to speak of.”

”I knew it wouldn’t just let us be,” Teacher Liang said. ”I just didn’t expect the beast to come back so soon!”

”Just hold on!”

Captain Hao offered words of encouragement. ”As long as we can hold out until the spatial Vortex subsides, reinforcements can get in. That’ll be the day this beast dies.”

Hearing this, Teacher Liang nodded in agreement. ”The three of us are Emperor Level Beast Masters, each with five Pet Beasts. Fifteen against one. Holding on shouldn’t be a problem.”
