Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 484: Chapter 447: Tun Tun’s Evolution Attempt

Putting on the VR glasses, Li Qian quickly began browsing. He benefited from Pei Yuanyuan’s preliminary work, which was quite thorough.

There was a considerable amount of data on Tun Tun’s evolutionary methods.

There were five theorized Evolutionary Forms for Tun Tun alone.

Four different evolutionary paths were also being explored.

All this information was compiled and sent to Li Qian’s email inbox.

As he reviewed the materials, a few ideas gradually began to form in his mind.

Of course, these were all just tentative ideas.

Whether or not they would be effective remained to be seen.

Time flew by, and several hours passed in what felt like a flash.

As dusk approached, the various pieces of information in Li Qian’s mind finally coalesced into a relatively complete framework.

He was ready to give his ideas a try.

After a simple meal at the Cultivation Base, he prepared to begin his experiment that very evening.

”This is Cloud Mist No. 9 Potion, a special potion invented by Professor Yan from Shazhou Beast Taming University.”

After their meal, Li Qian took out the potion and explained to Pei Yuanyuan, ”This potion can temporarily stimulate a Pet Beast’s Potential, causing it to undergo a temporary transformation.”

”However, this transformation has significant limitations. It might fail if the Pet Beast’s Level or Potential is too high, or if it has a special attribute.”

Pei Yuanyuan’s face lit up when she saw the potion Li Qian produced. ”This seems like a promising direction for our research.”

With Pei Yuanyuan’s approval, Li Qian immediately got to work, taking out the potion to begin the experiment.

Before long, a staff member from the Cultivation Base led a Tun Tun over.

”Let’s use this one for the experiment,” Pei Yuanyuan said, eyeing the Tun Tun.

It was clear that the Cultivation Base raised a large number of Tun Tuns for research purposes.

The Tun Tun that was brought over was very well-raised—plump and robust, with a glossy coat.

’If this were my past life,’ he thought, ’a big, fat pig like this would have guaranteed a great New Year’s feast.’

Looking at the Tun Tun, Li Qian handed over the Cloud Mist No. 9 Potion.

The Cultivation Base staff member, who was very familiar with this particular Tun Tun’s temperament, took out a handful of feed. While the creature was eating with relish, the staffer quickly shoved the potion into its mouth.

Before the Tun Tun could even get a taste, it swallowed the potion whole.

After swallowing the Cloud Mist No. 9 Potion, the Tun Tun paused for a moment, as if sensing it had just eaten something unusual.

However, this daze lasted only for a moment before it went right back to happily enjoying its feed.

It continued to eat, and a full three or four minutes passed with no reaction.

Just as Li Qian and Pei Yuanyuan were beginning to think the Cloud Mist No. 9 Potion wasn’t working on the Tun Tun, a faint Light of Evolution suddenly flared up on its body.

”There’s a reaction!” Li Qian and Pei Yuanyuan’s faces lit up with joy at the sight.

As long as there was a reaction, no matter how faint, it was a good thing for them.

Eagerly, the two of them prepared to move closer for a better look.

However, just as they took a few steps closer, ready to observe more carefully, Li Qian suddenly realized something was wrong.

”Look out!” he cried, and without a second thought, he dove to the side, tackling Pei Yuanyuan.

The two of them rolled quickly out of the way.

Just as they rolled away, the Tun Tun, still glowing with the Light of Evolution, whipped its head around. Its eyes flashed crimson as it charged straight toward them.

Fortunately, Li Qian had reacted quickly enough to tackle Pei Yuanyuan; otherwise, they would have taken the full force of the charge.

Even if Tun Tun was one of the ”four wastes,” it was still an Extraordinary Creature. A direct hit like that would have seriously injured them.

After dodging the charge, Li Qian instinctively threw a Beast Taming Ball.

The Beast Taming Ball flew out, and a Six-tailed Cat materialized. Li Qian immediately issued a command, ”Six-tails, control it.”

Receiving Li Qian’s command, the Six-tailed Cat immediately used its Telekinesis Skill.

A pale blue light shot from its eyes, and an instant later, a similar blue glow enveloped the Tun Tun.

As expected, the Tun Tun was frozen in place by the Six-tailed Cat’s Telekinesis Skill.

”What’s going on?”

”Yuanyuan, are you okay?”

Seeing the Tun Tun immobilized, the Cultivation Base staff rushed over, asking with concern.

Pei Yuanyuan, meanwhile, quickly struggled out of Li Qian’s arms, her face flushed red as she spoke.

Li Qian savored the memory of holding the petite girl in his arms for a moment. To avoid any awkwardness, he quickly changed the subject as well.

He adopted a serious and professional tone to answer her question. ”It might be a stress reaction during evolution.”

”A stress reaction during evolution?”

Pei Yuanyuan was puzzled and lost in thought. But then, a casual glance sideways caught her attention, and her eyes widened, unable to look away.

Her gaze was riveted to the Six-tailed Cat. ”Wait... Li Qian, you...”

Her expression was one of sheer disbelief, as if she were seeing something impossible. ”You figured out how to evolve the Six-tailed Cat?”

Li Qian scratched his head, a bit embarrassed. ”It was just a fluke. The university gave me a lot of help. In reality, I was just standing on the shoulders of the team. This achievement isn’t mine alone.”

Pei Yuanyuan’s expression didn’t soften in the slightest. She continued to stare at Li Qian with an intense gaze. ”That’s still an incredible feat, you know! First the Sunbird, and now the Six-tailed Cat? And you still claim you’re not a once-in-a-century cultivation genius?”

Li Qian laughed awkwardly. ’Damn, I didn’t mean to show off,’ he thought. ”Um, how did you know about the Six-tailed Cat?”

Pei Yuanyuan spoke as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. ”Research on the evolution of Tailed Cats is one of the hottest topics right now. My school, Jiangnan Beast Taming University, has a project on it, and my own advisor is involved. It would be difficult for me *not* to know.”

”Besides, it’s not like I live under a rock and do nothing but research Tun Tuns all day.”

”I just never imagined that you’d be the one to have already figured out the Six-tailed Cat’s evolutionary method. I wonder what my advisor and the others will think when they hear the news.”

As she said this, a glimmer of anticipation shone in her eyes.

Gazing once more at the elegant and extraordinary Six-tailed Cat, Pei Yuanyuan’s eyes shone with excitement. She asked directly, ”By the way, can you help me evolve a Six-tailed Cat? I’ll prepare all the materials, and I’ll be sure to pay you a fee that you’ll find more than satisfactory.”

”Don’t worry about a fee,” Li Qian said, waving it off magnanimously. ”What are friends for? Just get the materials ready, and I’ll take care of it.”

’That moment earlier... even though it was an accident, he knew he had still taken advantage of her. He was more than happy to help out with a small favor to make up for it.’
