Happiny was still carrying her precious egg, looking as though she had only just woken up.

In reality, this was simply how she behaved whenever she was searching for someone.

The moment she spotted Lin Feng, her sleepy eyes instantly lit up.

It was obvious...

The person she had been looking for was him.

”Happi!”

The instant she saw him, she immediately used her own signature move...

Egg Tackle.

Or more accurately...

She charged forward while hugging her egg.

After catching the little Pokémon in his arms, Lin Feng smiled.

”What’s wrong, Happiny?”

”Happi...”

She mumbled something softly.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t express herself very clearly.

Lin Feng quickly understood.

She hadn’t come because anything had happened.

She had simply...

Wanted to see him.

”Come to think of it...”

”You still haven’t evolved, have you?”

Lin Feng opened Happiny’s status screen.

Pokémon: Happiny

Gender: Female

Type: Normal

Ability: Serene Grace

Potential: Red

IVs:

HP: 31

Attack: 3

Special Attack: 12

Defense: 16

Special Defense: 27

Speed: 17

Level: 24-25

Moves:

Pound, Copycat, Defense Curl, Gravity, Metronome, Covet, Disarming Voice, Baby-Doll Eyes, Sweet Kiss...

Friendship: 92

Joy Value: 64

Since arriving at the ranch, Happiny had been alive for just over a month.

Unlike most Pokémon, whose evolution depended on level, Evolution Stones, or friendship...

Happiny evolved through a Oval Stone.

Or, to be more precise...

The egg she constantly carried had to become perfectly smooth and rounded through polishing.

As for what qualified as ”round enough”...

Even Lin Feng wasn’t entirely sure.

Looking at the egg Happiny hugged so carefully...

He figured it still needed more time.

After all...

She was still very young.

And during her first few weeks, she’d spent nearly every day following Alolan Ninetales around causing trouble.

Expecting her to evolve already was unrealistic.

Lin Feng wasn’t in any hurry.

Take your time.

For now...

She was still the smallest Pokémon in the entire ranch.

Maybe evolving a little later wasn’t such a bad thing.

Otherwise...

There wouldn’t be any tiny Pokémon left for him to cuddle.

”Happi...”

...

May 11th.

The existence of Precipice Blades had certainly sparked enormous interest in the area surrounding Wutong Town and the nearby wilderness.

But over the past two or three days...

Something else had attracted even more attention.

Rumors had begun spreading that...

After nightfall...

A mysterious Pokémon had been seen deep within the forest.

It all started on the evening of May 8th.

According to one Trainer who had just completed the final Sky Challenge...

As dusk settled over the forest, he caught sight of an enormous silhouette in the distance.

It was majestic beyond words.

Golden armor-like plates covered its forehead.

Its eyes were sharp and commanding.

Its magnificent mane billowed proudly around its neck.

On its back rested rocky protrusions resembling miniature volcanoes.

When it roared...

The entire mountain forest seemed to tremble.

What left the deepest impression on him...

Were the steel-like bands wrapped around each of its four legs.

The Pokémon stood nearly three or four meters tall.

Simply looking at it filled people with instinctive awe.

Although he had only seen it for a brief moment...

The image remained unforgettable.

At first...

Everyone assumed he had imagined it.

But then...

On the second day...

More witnesses appeared.

Then the third day...

Even more people claimed to have seen it.

Some Trainers even entered the forest hoping to find it.

Unfortunately...

Once inside...

They found absolutely nothing.

Little by little...

By May 11th...

The rumors had naturally reached Lin Feng.

”...A four-legged Pokémon that’s three or four meters tall?”

He blinked.

A quadruped that huge...

What could it possibly be?

The moment he heard that description...

Legendary Pokémon immediately came to mind.

Based on everything he’d read online...

Combined with what people around the ranch had been discussing...

The Pokémon’s identity became surprisingly easy to guess.

...Entei?

Suicune?

Raikou?

Or perhaps one of the Swords of Justice?

He quickly shook his head.

No...

That seemed unlikely.

Judging from the descriptions...

The best match was undoubtedly Entei.

According to legend...

Entei lived within volcanoes.

Its Pokédex entries even claimed that the roar of a powerful Entei could trigger volcanic eruptions and unleash rivers of fire.

Of course...

Under normal circumstances, Entei would never actually do such a thing.

But...

Why would Entei come here?

Could it be...

It came looking for the Fire Stone Mew brought back?

That was Lin Feng’s first thought.

After all...

The Fire Stone Mew had delivered wasn’t ordinary.

It was an SSS-rank Giant Fire Stone.

If Mew had secretly taken it from Entei...

And Entei had finally returned from its travels...

Only to discover its ”bed” missing...

That would definitely be a problem.

Of course...

It might not even be Entei.

Perhaps it was a Ghost-type.

Or a Dark-type.

Or even a Psychic-type Pokémon causing illusions.

After all...

Many Pokémon possessed abilities capable of confusing people...

Creating hallucinations...

Or disguising themselves.

Zoroark.

Gengar.

Ditto.

There were countless possibilities.

After lunch that day...

Lin Feng decided he couldn’t simply ignore the matter any longer.

The mysterious Pokémon had been lingering nearby for days.

The entire town had become increasingly uneasy.

Even the residents of Wutong Town had begun discussing it nonstop.

So...

If it really was Entei...

Coming to retrieve its ”bed”...

Then he’d simply apologize, return the Fire Stone, and ask Mew to forgive him afterward.

But just as he stepped out of the ranch...

The very first thing he heard was someone shouting excitedly.

”Everyone!”

”The news is out!”

”It’s the Legendary Pokémon...”

”Entei!”

”Someone finally got a picture!”

”No way!”

”It really is a Pokémon!”

”That’s right!”

”Go search for it on the video app!”

”Just type ’Mysterious Pokémon Appears Near Wutong Town!’”

”Hey!”

”Brother Lin’s here too!”

”Brother Lin!”

”Are you curious about this Pokémon as well?”

The one speaking was none other than Ran Ming, the content creator who had previously reviewed the ranch’s Energy Cubes.

He had always been quick to jump on trending topics.

After Lin Feng won the Continental Tournament...

Ran Ming had cut his Energy Cube review videos in half.

Instead...

He devoted the extra time to editing videos about Lin Feng’s daily life, memorable moments from the past, and occasional clips of him walking around town with his Pokémon.

Ironically...

Those videos attracted even more views.

Fortunately...

He always respected Lin Feng’s privacy.

Whenever he felt a clip might be controversial...

He would privately ask for permission before posting it.

Lin Feng had never really minded.

After all...

Supporting a Snorlax wasn’t exactly cheap.

Besides...

Ran Ming had genuinely helped him back in the early days.

”I am pretty curious.”

Lin Feng admitted with a nod.

At the same time...

He pulled out his phone and searched for the news.

The headline immediately appeared.
