Get Stronger by Pleasing Pokémon? Who Needs to Be a Trainer!

”No… this…” someone scratched their head, completely confused. Just moments ago, during the battle, it had delivered a performance that could easily rank in the top three of a Pokémon Contest Spectacular. And now it was acting so silly and adorable?

”It’s over, it’s over. Too cute… way too cute…” another person groaned. ”How can Milotic be this cute? I want one so badly…”

”I swear… at first I thought it was beautiful, then I thought it was cool, and now I realize it’s kind of silly and adorable. I’ve seen three different sides of Milotic in one match…”

Sigh. It looks like Miss Sally still didn’t win…

”Lin Feng’s Milotic is way too strong. It feels like all of his Pokémon are ridiculously powerful. It’s strange though, I’ve never seen him battle at his nursery. How does he raise them to this level without training battles?”

Some residents of Wutong City watching the broadcast couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

Down below, Lin Feng pressed his lips together slightly.

When Milotic brought the fainted Glaceon over, he had been stunned for a moment and didn’t understand its intention.

By the time he reacted, Glaceon was already right in front of him.

”Switch…” Sally muttered.

Seeing that Glaceon had regained consciousness, she finally let out a small sigh of relief. After thinking for a moment, she decided to change the battlefield.

Fighting Milotic in water was simply too difficult.

”Field change initiated. Selecting battlefield… Battlefield: Sky!”

The cold mechanical voice startled Sally, who was riding Togekiss.

According to commentators, the probability of drawing the six special battlefields was not equal. Sky and Lake fields were supposedly rarer.

Yet somehow, she had drawn both in her matches.

Below them, the lake surface began to vanish rapidly. Lin Feng waved at Milotic, signaling it to swim back to his side.

At the same time, outside the arena, a Metagross and a Gardevoir slowly rose into the air.

Their eyes glowed. Then hundreds of wooden platforms lifted into the sky, arranged across different heights, forming footholds roughly every five meters.

This was the Sky Field.

To be honest, Lin Feng found this field quite interesting.

At first, everyone thought the Sky Field would heavily disadvantage non-flying Pokémon, while giving flying Pokémon a huge advantage.

Because once you fell, it meant elimination.

But after a few matches, people realized it was actually balanced.

The entire sky was filled with dense floating platforms, each layered with psychic energy from Gardevoir and Metagross.

Lin Feng glanced at the two Psychic-type Pokémon. Metagross was level 79, and Gardevoir was level 81 to 82.

They were said to have been brought in by an exceptionally powerful Champion-level trainer to assist in setting up the field.

Destroying all the platforms would require an enormous amount of energy. But if they were not destroyed, the platforms themselves became obstacles that tested aerial maneuvering skills.

Flying Pokémon had to constantly weave between platforms. A single collision would cause damage. Meanwhile, agile Pokémon could glide through with precision.

”If it’s the Sky Field, it’s not suitable for you, Milotic.”

Lin Feng gently patted Milotic. It let out a soft cry and obediently returned to its Poké Ball.

He then looked at his remaining Poké Balls.

For a Sky Field, the obvious choice should have been Pidgeot.

But in reality, Pidgeot wasn’t ideal either.

It was too large.

Its wingspan was four to five meters. One careless flap could easily collide with the platforms created by Gardevoir and Metagross.

Unless it immediately used wind pressure to clear the entire field, but that would be too chaotic and might even draw attention from those two Psychic-type Pokémon.

Besides Pidgeot, Gardevoir, Blaziken, and Ice Ninetales were actually all decent choices here.

Lin Feng did not immediately choose. Instead, he observed his opponent.

Since Sally had lost the first match, she would send her Pokémon first in this round.

”Haa… if it’s the Sky Field, then I’ll leave it to you…”

Sally released Togekiss again. It flew back toward her briefly before she sent it out onto the field once more.

She chose Togekiss.

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow as its information appeared in his mind.

Pokémon: Togekiss

Gender: Male

Ability: Serene Grace

Potential: Purple

Stats: HP 24, Attack 14, Special Attack 31, Defense 17, Special Defense 20, Speed 28

Strength: Level 57–58

Moves: Roar, Metronome, Sweet Kiss, Magical Leaf, Encore, Protect, Air Slash, Aura Sphere, Brave Bird…

A Togekiss with Serene Grace.

And Air Slash.

This combination was infamous.

A single Air Slash hit could cause flinching, and with Serene Grace boosting effects, it often led to complete paralysis of momentum.

In practice, it was extremely oppressive.

So, what should he use?

Lin Feng quickly scanned his remaining Pokémon.

Only Alcremie and Pidgeot had not yet appeared.

Pidgeot was not suitable.

But Alcremie…

His mind drifted to it.

Pokémon: Alcremie

Gender: Female

Ability: Sweet Veil

Potential: Red

Strength: Level 42–45

Moves: Decorate, Sweet Scent, Aromatic Mist, Charm, Metronome, Energy Ball…

Description: Blessed by the World Tree, it possesses aura power.

Level 42–45.

A gap of more than ten levels.

Lin Feng hesitated.

But the further he went in the tournament, the stronger his opponents became.

And Alcremie’s strength relied heavily on Metronome. Coincidentally, its opponent Togekiss also depended on Serene Grace.

A luck battle?

The thought flashed through his mind.

Then it started to feel strangely viable.

He smiled faintly.

”Come out, Alcremie.”
