Venerated Venomous Consort

Di Fuyi took some time to consider his options and decided not to surrender his power. He stayed away from Xijiu and started abusing her emotionally.

Although Xijiu never loved the man, she was troubled and distressed by the abuse. Nonetheless, she was too embarrassed to ask Fan Qianshi’s help. Hence, she chose to endure the pain on her own.

To replace her, Di Fuyi ascended a few celestial beings and brought them into the Divine Kingdom. He even kept these women as his concubines for pleasure. They were all young and lively. But more importantly, they treated Di Fuyi well.

Di Fuyi treated them with equal kindness but still chose to mistreat Xijiu. He made up many excuses to dismiss Xijiu from her position as the empress. Eventually, she became a concubine and was bullied by the other concubines.

Xijiu always held herself aloof from the world, but the long term torment changed her. She used to dress in white to appear elegant and refined. However, her change of character had affected her style. Eventually, she became more inclined to dress in black. In a way, the continuous abuse slowly killed her spirit and made her look dark and haggard.

The master of heavenly law was allowed to have multiple wives, as long as no emotions were involved. As he managed to rid his feelings for Xijiu, soon, peace slowly returned to all six worlds.

Di Fuyi was finally happy that things had returned to normal. He was pleased with the changes he made and the results he obtained. He clearly indulged in his life of many wives. Sometimes, he would go to see Xijiu and even stay the night. Being bitterly disappointed in him, Xijiu would resist him every time he visited.

Soon, their difficult relationship became deadlocked. When Fan Qianshi visited them, he finally saw how depressed Xijiu had become. Utterly offended, he could not stand the sight of the woman he treasured being abused by another man. He had to talk to Di Fuyi about it.

The talk did not go well, and the two men ended up in a big fight, which caused a state of chaos and darkness over a period of time. When two gods fought, their strength was enough to destroy the whole world. Di Fuyi’s concubines were among the victims of the clash.

Neither side gained from the fight, but Fan Qianshi suffered a little less. He seized the chance and took Xijiu away and brought her back to his Divine Palace. When Xijiu got back to his home, she finally understood that Fan Qianshi only turned down her proposal because he was preparing a surprise for her. He was busy preparing their bridal chamber, but a strange combination of circumstances had led her to Di Fuyi instead.

Xijiu was filled with remorse and sadness. Soon, she became ill.

Fan Qianshi never left her side and took good care of her. In the end, he told her to break up with Di Fuyi if he refused to treasure her as his wife. Fan Qianshi also promised to marry her and that he would not mind her past marriage. He fell in love with who she was, not her body.

Xijiu entertained the idea and finally decided to talk with Di Fuyi about their divorce. Never had she thought that she was putting herself in a perilous position.

Di Fuyi did not want to let go of his power, nor did he want to see her getting married to another man. Therefore, he resorted to a third option. First, he showed her around in the galaxy. They then traveled to the mortal world, and he took her to see all of her favorite places. Xijiu honestly thought that it was their farewell, which was why she agreed to go in the first place. Finally, they went to their last spot on the itinerary.

They visited a lake, the place where their relationship started. It was the place where they first went boating. He took her to the blue boat again and slowly sailed on the lake with her. He even asked if she had any wishes that he could fulfill for her.

Xijiu told him that her only wish was to break up with him so that she could return to Fan Qianshi. With a smile, Di Fuyi opened his arms as he replied, “All right, I shall grant you your wish. Let’s hug for the last time as a farewell.”
