Venerated Venomous Consort

As Yan Chen continued to observe the princess, Lan Waihu sat obediently by his side. It was indeed a rare sight for her to be so calm and quiet. She had focused her attention on the princess’s guardian and watched his every move.

Meanwhile, the princess had not refused any of the toasts from the group. She gulped a mouthful of wine every time someone toasted with her, and in the blink of an eye, she had drunk around five or six glasses.

Although her wine glass was of an average size of about 50ml, a dozen glasses were enough to fill her belly; it was almost 700ml of liquor. Even an ordinary man would have been half-drunk by now!

The princess’s cheeks were red as apples, but her lips were pale. The guardian finally grasped her hand that was holding the glass and stopped her from taking another sip. “You should stop now!”

The princess was already drunk by then. She squinted at him and asked, “Why should I listen to you?”

“Sir, does it hurt to get embarrassed by a woman?”

“Haha! Sir, this beauty is more interesting when she is drunk.”

“Sir, since you care about her so much, why don’t you just marry her? If that were to happen, you would be considered royalty on the Blue Fox planet. Haha!” Some officers started to tease them.

The guardian did not seem too disturbed by what he heard. He calmly raised his eyebrows and smiled at the princess. “Princess, are you interested in me? Do you want to marry me?”

The princess looked at him and was stunned by what he uttered. She responded rather indifferently, “Okay… Uh…” She decided to stand up for a moment, but as she was too drunk, she tripped and fell into the arms of the guardian.

That guardian managed to support her fall and quickly asked, “Are you alright?”

The princess held his face and tilted her head while she looked at him. “You are so… handsome…”

The guardian was somewhat taken aback by her words. “Thank you, princess.”

She continued to look at him confusedly and blinked a couple of times. “Who… Who are you?”

The guardian was speechless! Meanwhile, the people around him could not help themselves. They laughed at his misery.

“Duan Muyan.”

“Duan Mu… Handsome… You look… You look very handsome. But… why… Why do you have two heads? This makes you less attractive.”

Duan Muyan rendered speechless again. The crowd was thoroughly enjoying themselves. Everyone laughed again, and even Lan Waihu giggled at Duan Muyan’s misfortune. She then turned to look at Yan Chen and was stunned. Yan Chen did not find the situation funny.

On the contrary, his face was pale, and his eyes were still fixed on the princess. His lips trembled, “Little… Little Fox!”

Lan Waihu was rarely drunk, but she did get drunk before on certain occasions. Yan Chen had been married to her for so many years, so he had seen it several times. When she was drunk, she did not recognize people. The most common thing she did when that happened was to lay in his arms and hold his face. She would always ask him – ‘Who are you?’

When she held his face, her little finger was always curled up. The drunk princess seemed to imitate this action flawlessly! Even the curled little finger and the expression of squinting her eyes were the same! Watching all this unfold made Yan Chen feel as though a bolt of lightning had struck him. He forgot where he was and shouted out loud in the heat of the moment!

Unfortunately, he was not using his directed audio device. Although he was relatively far away, his voice was loud enough to alarm the group of people he was observing.

“Who was that?”

“Who spoke earlier?”

There was no one else in the restaurant beside them. Naturally, the group paid close attention to the direction of the source of the sound, which was where Yan Chen was located. However, they did not see anything.
