Venerated Venomous Consort

Chapter 2664: Authentic or Fake (4)

Yan Chen continued to stare at the backs of the two persons who were walking away. Subconsciously, his fingers could not help but tighten under his sleeves. Although he already made up his mind that the woman was not Little Fox, seeing her being held by another man still made him uncomfortable. He felt the urge to rush over and separate them.

“Brother Yan Chen, we… can we go elsewhere?” Lan Waihu tugged his sleeves as she asked.

“Okay!” He nodded and took his attention away from the two people. The reason why he was uncomfortable was that the woman looked like Little Fox. Nonetheless, he knew that he should not take his wife for granted anymore. Yan Chen felt that he should no longer waste his attention on the woman. Instead, he should be analyzing the facilities here so that he and his team could plan a way to take the enemies down.

…

A little while later, Yan Chen was pacing through the entire area. Lan Waihu could hardly catch her breath as she tried to keep up with him. “Brother Yan Chen, can you slow down?”

The man halted his steps and just realized that he had left Lan Waihu behind. Lan Waihu dashed over and hugged his arm rightly. She gently complained, “I am pregnant. Why are you walking so fast?”

Yan Chen sighed and took her hand. “Xijiu did not come back. I am worried about her. We need to find her.”

“I think we better not act rashly. Xijiu said that some of the high-tech mechanisms here could expose our invisibility. I believe she asked us to stay put earlier.”

Yan Chen paused for a moment to try to recall what Gu Xijiu had told him earlier. Before they separated with her, she did warn him about it and asked him to stay close with Little Fox. He should not even be one step ahead of her. However, he could not see Gu Xijiu anywhere around the hangar area.

“Do not worry. Xijiu is so powerful; she will be fine. If we go and find her, it will actually alert the other party, and it might even bring trouble to her.” Lan Waihu comforted him.

With a smile, Yan Chen complimented Lan Waihu, “Little Fox, you are so sensible.”

If it were the old Little Fox that he knew, she would have eagerly asked him to go and look for Gu Xijiu. She would never say such wise words. Apparently, Little Fox had grown up, and he was the one who grew emotional and rash.

Two of them discussed the matter softly and then turned and went elsewhere. Along the way, Yan Chen quietly observed and marked down the layout of the place. But all of a sudden, there was a loud sound in front of them on the left. Someone screamed, “Princess, drink It! Drink it!”

Stunned, Yan Chen could not help but go over and take a closer look.

Lan Waihu quickly tried to stop him. “Brother Yan Chen, there are many people there. We shouldn’t go there now. Otherwise, we risk being uncovered.”

“It is fine. They can’t see us.” Yan Chen continued walking and reached the crowded place very soon. He realized that he had arrived at a restaurant. In fact, Yan Chen used to come to this restaurant with Lan Waihu in the past. They used to get a few drinks here every now and then. The restaurant had not changed much since the last time he came.

Yan Chen stepped inside with Lan Waihu and saw the princess sitting at a table. She was sitting at a table with seven or eight other officers, along with a man who was seated beside him. The group was having a drink there and playing a drinking game. Apparently, the princess lost the most recent round. According to the rules of the game, the loser would drink. Hence, that explained why he heard the loud noises urging the princess to drink.

Someone also shouted, “If the princess does not want to drink, she can sing a song for us instead.”

The princess did not speak. Instead, she raised her hand and gulped down the wine in her glass. Seconds after, she slammed the glass on the table and extended her slim hand to the group. “Pour me another glass!”
