His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2410: Chapter 687: Returned (5) Second Update!_4

Mu Zihao spoke again.

Qin Mu felt even more scared after hearing it; was Grandpa really going back to the countryside for her?

”I’ll go talk to Grandpa; he can’t go back to the countryside!”

Qin Mu thought about running into the old man at the door last night when she was about to leave. She had only felt embarrassed at the time, nodded, and left. The old man probably worried about her, so he said those things at home.

”Mm! Yichen over there...”

”I didn’t tell him!”

Qin Mu replied.

Mu Zihao sighed and nodded again: ”You hid it from him, which shows you really don’t want our family to get messier. But Qin Mu, Dad still hopes you both can get better soon. This time, it’s dragged on for a bit too long, huh?”

Qin Mu didn’t say anything. Mu Zihao didn’t make it difficult for her; he apologized, said some things he should and shouldn’t have, and then stood up: ”I’ll be leaving now.”

Qin Mu stood up to see him out, but she didn’t know what to do at that moment.

Just as she closed the door and turned her head, she saw a man standing on the steps.

Mu Yichen had an emotionless face, his dark eagle-like eyes staring straight at Qin Mu at the door. Qin Mu’s heart trembled violently, and she couldn’t speak for a while.

She thought he would not come back after sending the siblings to school in the morning, but he was home?

She was not surprised; he must have heard everything she discussed with Mu Zihao earlier.

So, the panic upon seeing him gradually calmed down; she walked inside, lowered her eyes, and said nothing.

Mu Yichen came down, also silent for a while.

The two sat separately on a sofa for almost half an hour; neither spoke to each other, and the TV was off.

The living room was so quiet it could freeze someone.

After half an hour, Qin Mu finally couldn’t stand the low pressure and glanced at him: ”Why didn’t you go to the company?”

”Didn’t feel like it!”

Mu Yichen said plainly, without further explanation.

Seeing the indifference on his face, Qin Mu lost the urge to speak with him: ”Then I’m going out. At noon with...”

”With whom are you messing around at noon again?”

Qin Mu was about to say she would have lunch with Qin Mingzhu when she heard his question. She turned, looking at him unhappily: ”What’s that supposed to mean?”

”You’re not allowed to go anywhere. Stay home for lunch; I’ll cook.”

Mu Yichen sounded like he didn’t want to be angry with her, saying it softly but without looking at her.

Qin Mu...

But even if he diligently cooked, he didn’t ask about what happened from last night to this morning. This lunch was destined to be tasteless.

Qin Mu knew he must have guessed everything. While eating, there was also a lack of energy, always hoping he would ask something, but he asked nothing.

The two seemed like mutes, or perhaps they were acting in a silent play?

When Qin Mu’s phone rang on the table, she felt a bit rescued, answering the call: ”Didn’t I send you a WeChat?”

”I wanted to invite you for dinner tonight, come home, how about it? Huanyu happens to be home too; we haven’t gathered in a long time!”

Qin Mingzhu was somewhat worried about Qin Mu’s situation and also wanted to tell Qin Mu about visiting Feng Fanghua at the Mu Family and her concerns that Feng Fanghua might dislike Qin Mu more because of what she said.

Qin Mu refused after hearing: ”Forget it! I need to accompany the siblings tonight!” and the person across from her.

Mu Yichen was so unhappy; how could she dare to have dinner with someone else?

”Uh! What’s wrong? Your voice doesn’t sound very happy.”

”I’m having lunch with your brother-in-law, I’ll talk to you later!”

Qin Mu finished speaking and hung up the phone.

The man hearing the term ”brother-in-law” finally seemed to have some appetite.

And after Qin Mu put down the phone, she quickly picked up the chopsticks. Even if it was tasteless, she still needed to fill her stomach.

After lunch, Qin Mu paced back and forth in the bedroom. Going out wasn’t right; staying home wasn’t right either. She always felt like a war was about to break out.

She wanted to clarify things with him but feared it would become more troublesome. Then she remembered about meeting Grandpa, and after some thought, she went out.

Mu Yichen was smoking by the glass window in the living room downstairs. When Qin Mu went downstairs with a coat hanging on her arm and saw him, she stopped: ”I made an appointment with Grandpa for tea; do you want to go?”

Mu Yichen turned to look at her: ”Okay!”

Qin Mu...

”Actually, you don’t have to go!”

Qin Mu smiled a bit insincerely, her eyes full of refusal.

”Didn’t you just invite me?”

Mu Yichen’s deep voice was full of doubt towards her.

Qin Mu...

There weren’t many people in the teahouse at this time. After they entered, Mu Yichen noticed an empty seat: ”You go ahead; I’ll wait for you here!”
