A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 1408: Chapter 1409: Home (Part 1)

The roundtable meeting of the Two Rings True Spirit Sorcerer Organization will take quite some time; it must have the presence of all the upper echelons of the Wizard World to proceed. Otherwise, it can easily provoke certain deep-seated conflicts.

These conflicts have never been eliminated within the Wizard World; they were only cautiously concealed under the Demon Hunting Expedition plan.

Thus, Green left the Two Rings World and disappeared through the Teleportation Array.

Oblivion Tower Secret Realm.

Buzz!

Intense time-space fluctuations; such a short-distance time-space leap no longer posed any burden to Green’s true body. As the time-space distortion rippled like a wave before his eyes, Green returned to this fragment of space filled with familiar scents.

Home, no matter how small, is something that belongs solely to oneself.

Evidently, as Green had not been back in the Wizard World for long, Lou Linman and Leafy had not yet spread the news of Green’s return through Xiao Ba. But soon, the news of this Stigmata Sorcerer of Oblivion Tower—hailed as the Ten Ring True Spirit of the Wizard World—returning would surely spread far and wide.

Full control of strength, the ethereal figure exuding no aura, the three-colored light eyes gazed at the dozens of Rain-dew Flower Elves playing near the Teleportation Array. These tiny, colorful creatures froze instantly.

Evidently, their short-lived existence, after many generations, no longer recognized Green, but the primal instinct imprinted deep within their souls made them feel incredibly familiar and revered towards Green.

”Little ones, is everything alright here?”

The voice of Green carried an inexplicable blend of maturity and familiarity. For Green, nearing six eras—or 60,000 years—since the past memories, even the Secret Realm he had managed had become somewhat unfamiliar, akin to the Bisear City from childhood memories.

The Rain-dew Flower Elves only instinctively nodded, their two pairs of wings behind resembling bees, rapidly flapping as they hovered in the air.

A group of Soul-Capturing Thousand-Eyed Crab Guards gathered, some with bewitching soul-light swirling around them, others with bodies partially turning into ice elements, and some possessing both traits. They all looked towards Green.

Long-lived and possessing higher intelligence, they apparently had inherited memories of Green. Even some of their powers stemmed from the blessings of the Source of Magic Power from Green’s Sorcerer’s Tower!

”Oblivion Tower Stigmata Sorcerer?”

”Chirp chirp, it is the Stigmata Sorcerer of Oblivion Tower, it’s the return of the great Oblivion Tower Stigmata Sorcerer!”

”Quick, quickly call Father King, the great Oblivion Tower Stigmata Sorcerer has returned!”

The Soul-Capturing Thousand-Eyed Crab Guards first froze, then grew excited beyond measure, fumbling around in excitement. With a ”whoosh,” the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab responsible for guarding the Secret Realm had evidently sensed Green’s return long ago and flew in full speed from the depths of the Secret Realm.

”Master!”

Covered in red fur and nearly fifty meters in size, this companion, who had steadfastly served Green, gazed at Green with teary eyes, different from the past aura that never seemed to match.

”Those great Stigmata Sorcerers said you were missing, that you were never coming back, but I believed you’d return, just 120 years ago, 120 years ago...”

Speaking with a choked voice, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab could no longer continue.

One can imagine the exhaustive efforts and fears the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab faced after Green’s disappearance.

Once Green fell, all soul slaves would perish within a moment. Although the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab wasn’t a soul slave of Green, without Green’s protection, the entire Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab clan, including the Sorcerer’s Tower, would become unclaimed wealth. Within regulation allowances, the greedy wizards would not spare them.

At that time, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab clan would probably no longer sustain the dignified life they once led.

They, more than any foreign creatures, understood the rules of the wizarding world and knew the cruelty and terror of wizards. Precisely because they understood, they dared not face it.

”It’s all in the past; I am back.”

Green softly comforted, resting atop the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, amidst its increasingly uncontrollable choked voice, flying towards the space-based annihilation starship.

Having gotten used to dismantling these space-based annihilation starships by hand, at this moment, finding one suddenly within his Secret Realm, Green couldn’t help but shake his head.

This is an inevitable part of growing up; the future version of oneself continuously reflecting on the naive absurdity of the past.

The ground was swarming with a dense Screaming Cockroach Legion, driven by the Soul-Capturing Thousand-Eyed Crab Guards like sheepdogs, competing for food within each of the breeding chambers. These resilient, undiscriminating creatures constituted the most vital cannon fodder under Green’s wings; their mothership chastised Green for being a breeding machine, sealed and confined on the 19th floor of the Abyss Laboratory.

”The Abyss Laboratory hasn’t encountered any problems, right?”

Green asked casually, referring likely to those crucial experiment specimens in the deepest layers.

”Master, you haven’t heard, have you? One of your friends has become the Summer Guardian of the Wizard World, stationed long-term at the Abyss Exit of the Two Rings Holy Tower, 22nd Area, together with her sister, the Ice Age Stigmata Sorcerer. They frequently come to oversee the Oblivion Tower Secret Realm. Additionally...”

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab continued, ”Additionally, your eldest disciple, Cappuccino, established the Unrivaled Sorcerer Tower a thousand years ago, adjacent to the Oblivion Tower. The second disciple, Heisuo, made astonishing achievements in the Nightmare World, reportedly causing quite a stir and has been assigned many secret missions by the Wizarding Alliance, hence seldom appearing now. The third disciple, Antusimo, also established the Destruction Sorcerer Tower a thousand years ago, choosing its location within the Two Rings Holy Tower, 22nd Area.”

The Son of the Sun, Mina, has become the Summer Guardian, and his three disciples...

A string of good news, but Green did not lose his composure and eagerly asked, ”And others? What more information do you have?”

”Sachy established the Night Shadow Sorcerer Tower but fell in later civilization wars. Lou Linman set up a Sorcerer Tower in the Nine Rings Holy Tower Area, and...your senior sister, the Destruction Sword Stigmata Sorcerer, fell, leaving behind an orphan. However, this orphan carries an unfathomable mysterious power, having inherited the Source of Magic Power of the Rainbow Potion Sorcerer Tower, also in Area 22.”

Fallen...

Even having prepared mentally, knowing that Senior Sister Youquan had fallen, and the Second Senior Brother Valo hadn’t ascended as a Stigma and had already fallen, with only himself left of Mentor Peranos’s lineage, a profound sense of loneliness bloomed from within.

Night Shadow Sachy, one of his trusted wizards, had also fallen.

Though the civilization war would bring unimaginable rewards to the victors, the price was indeed too high, even if the Wizard Civilization held the upper hand from the start in this war.

Every civilization war marks the birth of a generation gap among wizards; the surviving wizards of the scars of battle would be honored as Ancient Wizards, survivors of countless life and death battles, the true elites.

Simultaneously, countless inherited knowledge was thereby lost or consigned to oblivion in the Holy Tower’s knowledge memory reserves, fading into history as more advanced knowledge emerged, with history leaving them behind.

”The war must end soon. We have lost too much already.”

Green murmured to himself; this war had already inflicted immense damage upon both sides, and even the enormous base of the Wizard World couldn’t endure much more; ending this war was the convergence of the sources, the historical trend.

Whoosh!

A figure came flying over accompanied by tens of thousands of Rain-dew Flower Elves swarming together, suddenly throwing themselves into Green’s arms!

”Green handsome, I’ve missed you to death, hehe, where have you been roaming for these thousands of years?”

The stark contrast indeed left Green momentarily dazed, yet he quickly adapted to all the familiar details. Lab, as a high-level Smart Mechanical Puppet, had already accompanied Green for a very long time, firmly entrenched in the deepest parts of Green’s heart as home.
