A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 1185: Chapter 1186: Snow Velvet Tribe

”Great Guardian.”

The Priestess of the Snow Velvet Tribe carried a platter of delicious, ripe olive-fruits, leading nine of the most beautiful females of her kind, and gracefully approached Green. She gently placed the platters one by one on the hanging vine table.

The appearance of the Snow Velvet Tribe is broadly similar to humans, which is one reason Green chose to become the guardian of this tribe.

Their fair skin is like the first snow of winter, their tall stature generally reaching two meters, with long black hair flowing smoothly down their backs like a stream, and bright sky-blue eyes that are incomparably pure and clear, with white feathered wings behind them.

Once all the platters were delivered, the Snow Velvet Priestess signaled for the tribe members behind her to leave, and gracefully stepped close to the Oblivion Sorcerer guardian who had arrived in Shengyadi two hundred years ago, her shapely figure only modestly covered by Snow Velvet, her body emitting a fragrance, whispering softly again, ”Great Guardian?”

”Hm? ... Hm.”

Green awakened from his experiment, glanced at the platters before him, and nodded towards the priestess.

Temporarily concluding the Life Key experiment, Green crushes a small piece of the Philosopher’s Stone into powder and consumes it, then begins to savor these high-energy fruits, replenishing the energy needed by his body during rapid passive evolution.

The Snow Velvet Priestess stood by Green’s side, looking at this silent but immensely powerful Oblivion Sorcerer Guardian with a heart full of reverent admiration.

Never in the history of the Snow Velvet Tribe had there been such a benevolent and powerful guardian, with the only requirements being ample olive-fruits and a quiet environment.

His wisdom, his mystery, his power—all deeply attracted her, urging her to be close, even if it was just standing by his side, waiting for him to quietly savor the olive-fruits.

If possible, if given the chance, she would willingly dedicate everything to him; it would be an incredible pride and honor, a fantastical delight!

Creak, creak, creak...

Every day, he quietly ate these olive-fruits alone, saying nothing, as if there were endless matters requiring his contemplation.

Removing his mask, he possessed eyes akin to those of the Snow Velvet Tribe—brownish green, beautiful like amber gemstones. His eyes seemed to overlook the entire world, gazing upon the whole continent of guardians.

As always, he finished all the olive-fruits, and the priestess keenly detected that today, the Oblivion Sorcerer Guardian seemed different from usual—a sixth sense nurtured silently over thousands of nights.

Suddenly, Green lifted his head and looked at the Snow Velvet Priestess who had cared for him for ten years.

”In a few days, your priestess journey will come to an end, welcoming the next priestess, right? But I think, I must leave.”

The priestess’s hands holding the platter trembled slightly, her sky-blue eyes stared incredulously at Green.

”Leave? Great Guardian, where will you go? Could it be that the Snow Velvet Tribe did something to dissatisfy the Great Guardian? Or did Yu’er do something wrong?”

Speaking with a tremor, as if overwhelmed with fright, as if the entire sky was collapsing, the corners of her eyes moistened, and her voice slightly choked as she knelt, looking up at Green, appearing extremely pitiful.

Green’s voice remained calm, unmoved, as he spoke in a deep tone: ”No, it’s nothing to do with you, it’s my own matter. I don’t belong here; I must return to my own home.”

”The Great Guardian’s home?”

The priestess asked, unwilling to let go: ”We can follow the Great Guardian together and ask the master to continue protecting our tribe, not to abandon us!”

Humble beseeching, the longing of lower beings, but in Green’s view, from a wizard’s high intellectuality, though there were feelings for this tribe, ultimately it was no more than the fleeting light of a firefly experienced in the long summer.

This understanding, every official sorcerer already profoundly grasps.

Moreover, now Green and the Snow Velvet Tribe were not just separated by life levels but also by the distance of life perception; Green knew clearly that he was an existence outside this protective box, whereas they were merely native beings within it.

As for the creator of this protective box...

Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk...

Suddenly, a messy cacophony emerged from afar, circling above the city, causing the priestess’s expression to change, forgetting her tears as she quickly ran to Green’s Cottage window, looking out at the sky.

”Great Guardian, it’s a swarm of hunting crows, numbering at least a hundred thousand!”

While saying this, the priestess suddenly remembered that Green had just said he was leaving, meaning he was no longer the guardian of the Snow Velvet Tribe.

Instantly, a feeling of desperation arose, surfacing on the face of the Snow Velvet Priestess, as she paled.

”Great Guardian...”

Hearing the priestess’s near-pleading choked voice, Green shook his head, his body suddenly vanished on the spot, the next moment appearing in the mist-enshrouded sky.

The Snow Velvet Tribe gathered on a sunny slope segment of a giant mountain, a waterfall flowing from the peak, nurturing the dense rainforest along the mountain ridge, mist swirling as countless tribe members gazed from the ground.

And his experimental attic cottage, located atop this mountain on the trunk of a giant olive-fruit tree, enjoyed the worship of the entire Snow Velvet Tribe for over two hundred years, though for Green it was merely experimental time for the Truth Mask’s twelfth project, while for the tribe members whose lifespans averaged about seventy years, it was indeed a lengthy duration.

Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk...

The hunting crows swarming, inherently vicious, their hunting habits first kill the small, communal, rich-blooded creatures, then return some time later to devour the rotting flesh.

The Snow Velvet Tribe is one of their hunting targets.

At this moment, Green stood in the sky, looking at the terrifyingly dense swarm of hunting crows, which in the eyes of the Snow Velvet Tribe seemed to darken the sky, yet to Green, who had experienced the war of civilizations, were merely battlefield chaff, not worth mentioning.

Glancing at these insignificant insects, Green held the Alien Shadow Bright Lamp in his hand.

Chuckling coldly, as Green’s magic power activated, the wick of the soul lamp—a yin-yang weave—ignited a bizarre ominous flame, and Green’s heterogeneous magnetic field was suddenly amplified by incredible resonance!

Nowadays, with the ample support of the Philosopher’s Stone, the sorcery instrument power within Green’s ancient giant Chi demon body had greatly enhanced, incomparable to its primitive state.

The three-colored light eyes gazed at the clumped swarm of dark hunting crows.

Although chaotic in appearance, seemingly without pattern, under Green’s Truth Mask, Green effortlessly integrated and summarized each crow’s motion trajectory and mutual motion patterns, easily identifying the King of Hunting Crows enclosed at the center of the swarm.

However...

In truth, this served no real purpose.

As Green’s hand waved over the Alien Bright Lamp, after an invisible wave passed, the originally dense cacophony like boiling water suddenly fell silent, and each hunting crow began to split and fall apart, grotesque touch intertwined and devoured, dropping like rain.

Even the Snow Velvet Tribe witnessing this scene could not help but feel fear spreading.
