Chapter 360: The World Gate II

“Master Grimm, what should we do?”

A giant bone creature asked Grimm while standing behind him. There was a layer of toxic gas surrounding the bone creature.

The bone creature was radiating a presence a few times more powerful than the Thousand-eyed Carcinus!

There were still some powerful soul slaves like it that were assigned by Black Isotta to Grimm’s personal legion of soul slaves.

All of them were powerful creatures that had survived and became even stronger heading into countless foreign world expeditions with the Black Isotta.

Grimm was standing on top of the brownish-red hair of the Thousand-eyed Carcinus’s carapace. He was clutching a Sabbatical Goat Staff. Black flames were burning in each of its eye sockets. A gust of yellow sand was blowing over his sorcerer’s robe, obscuring his figure.

Beneath the Mask of Truth.

From Grimm’s pair of elemental eyes, more and more Acraepoids were surrounding the World Gate. If there were millions of Acraepoids when he first descended upon the world, there were almost tens of millions of them now.

More and more Acraepoids were taking off from the ground. Some Acraepoids even came from faraway places.

The black flames were burning violently on top of the crowd of Acraepoids. All eyes were on Grimm, the strangely powerful Acraepoid-like creature.

In the skies further away.

Black flames were burning like two black suns over the sky. The powerful aura of the two World Lords was being released without restraint. Spheres of energy ripples were spreading out.

“This aura… the Dark Destroyer! Yes, this is the aura of a Dark Destroyer!”

Grimm could not forget how he felt after he saw the powerful, foreign black flame from the huge mirror during his apprenticeship. The aura felt like the despair of a Black Sorcerer, densely filled with negative energy.

It looks like a window of opportunity for accomplishing the mission had appeared!

Grimm was getting excited deep down in his heart. It felt similar to how he first deceived the Dark Destroyer.

The Rank-1 honor badge mission which was thought to be hopeless at first now has a slim chance of happening.

The foolish World Lord of a foreign world was deceived and played within the palm of an apprentice’s hand! The World Lord even claimed to have remembered Grimm’s soul presence, threatening to capture him by invading the Sorcerer World, sealing him into the stomach of an ignorant pig.

But now…

As Grimm looked afar at the two hundred-meter tall black flames, his elemental eyes gradually lit up.

His mission was to prevent the low-level Acraepoids from entering the Burrow World first and lure Dark Destroyer, the infernal god into the Burrow World, allowing the demon-hunting sorcerers who were standing at attention there extract the coordinates to the Infernal Spirit World.

But the two World Lords couldn’t care less about Grimm. He was like a passing fly to them. If this goes on, he wouldn’t be able to complete his mission…

Grimm dismissed the bone creature’s prior question with a cold laugh.

“Initiate Wild Instinct Anatomy Level 1!”

A dense scale slowly emerged from beneath his skin. Each scale looked like a silver coin, giving out a cold, hard, metallic feel.

At the same time, Grimm’s body seemed to be stretched longer. His stature became more fit. He appeared more rugged. There was a vicious sense of aesthetics about his elongated body. His aura was taken to another level.

“Ivory Armor!”

Clank!

Bone spikes, half a meter in length began surfacing from Grimm’s rugged and vicious-looking body. The spikes covered his body, making him look like a giant porcupine.

There was a pale-gray energy springing up from the top of the bone spike, covering Grimm’s body. In a blink of an eye, Grimm was unrecognizable. He seemed to have turned into a real monster.

It was apparent that Grimm had become overpowered thanks to the power of the stigmata gears.

Finally, a strange pressure suddenly emerged.

It felt as if the whole of the Infernal Spirit World was about to crush Grimm. At the same time, the strange force appeared to be slicing away at his emitted aura.

At least that was how it felt.

But it wasn’t Grimm who was causing it. It was a knock-back effect over the stigmata gears.

The stigmata sorcerer’s presence from Grimm’s gear had already set off a wave across the Infernal Spirit World. The principal will of the Infernal Spirit World had detected the invading foreign creature.

“Heehee, heeheeheehee…”

Grimm was sneering like a cruel sorcerer from ancient times.

Generally, only a level four creature would catch the attention of the whole world’s principal will, which would set off a reaction to reject the creature. But now, due to the overwhelming stigmata sorcerer’s aura that were on Grimm’s body, he was on the edge of being denied by the principal will of the world.

Not only did he lack the support of the sorcerer’s barrier that represented the will of the sorcerer’s world; he had to face the rejection from the will of the foreign world as well. Was this the reason why even the Black Isotta and the other stigmata sorcerers didn’t dare to break into the world irreverently?

Suddenly.

Grimm’s pair of dual-colored iris that represented the ice and fire element rose up. Amidst the enveloping yellow sand and the nourishing pale aura of the bone spikes, his eyes became exceptionally brilliant.

Because right at this moment…

A powerful Acraepoid at the peak of level-three, blindfolded by a tattered red cloth across his eyes rose up among the millions of Acraepoid warriors!

The aura of the powerful Acraepoid was at the peak of Level 3. Grimm could faintly sense that he’s at the same level as the Jyorongshan; its power was well past a normal Level-3 creature.

If he were to battle him now, the match would only end in a tie at most. He could even lose by some margin.

A Level-3 creature like him would have a higher chance of being acknowledged by the principal will of the world and go on to become a World Lord.

They were the hopes for the future growth of the world.

Underneath the tattered red cloth was his pair of eyes, long sacrificed by the sword.

His frail, small frame was covered with criss-cross scars. Those were the proof of how he rose to the peak, one step at a time.

Although there was no flaming infernal spirit on his blade that was longer than the Level-3 creature’s body, its very presence felt more intense than the infernal strengths of Sungta and Bolonger who had fought before him.

He…

He has accomplished the total mastery of the infernal powers.

It was the hardest step in becoming a great Infernal God, a step that had stumbled many Nobles from their quest of becoming an Infernal God.

After taking this huge leap forward, as long as you could gain the attention of the world’s power and therefore the acknowledgment of the principal will of the world, you could become the new generation of infernal god of the Acraepoid World!

The crowd of Acraepoids looked on in awe and envy.

The unsurpassable great infernal gods faraway too shifted their eyes slightly over to the powerful acraepoid. It was far from their usual nonchalant manner.

They seemed to have some expectations.

Some of the Acraepoids who recognized the powerful warrior seemed excited to be able to see the legend from such a close distance. Their eyes were filled with disbelief, some of their swords started shaking as they trembled in excitement.

“What? The Noble Yimo?”

“So he’s THAT Yimo!?”

There was a commotion among the Acraepoids. The army of Acraepoids, who were poised to strike at the invading foreign monsters halted their steps abruptly as if they were shocked by the two syllables “Yimo”.

There are only two paths to become the great infernal god.

One of them was to hold an Acraepoid Swordsmanship Tournament and accept the challenge of every Acraepoid Nobles. If he could win all of them, there would be a high chance that he would gain the attention of the principal will of the world and become the new generation of infernal god.

However, only a few of the Acraepoids have ever held such tournaments and all of them were geniuses of their time. Only two had ever succeeded.

The rest of them were only fuel for despair who have been long forgotten after they’ve been defeated by the many reclusive warriors of the world.

The second way was to set off a huge event, be it moral or immoral, or even inconceivable to others. That could also catch the attention of the principal will of the world pave their ways to become the new infernal god.

Noble Yimo chose to appear here, right at this very moment.

Perhaps there were more to his intentions…

The crowd of Acraepoids became passionate, they were excited and shouting in deep admiration!

The foreign monsters that came from the Burrow World had set off a ripple in the principal will of the world, if Noble Yimo could kill him at this very minute…

There’s a huge chance that the new generation of infernal god would be christened here!

Yimo shall become the sixth great infernal god that succeeds the First King, Darkborne, Darksmother, Lightglow, and Darkglow! There would be a kingdom built upon his name and he shall have the worship of his people.

Such is the path of a great infernal god.

It was the dream of the billions of Acraepoids. Yet, since ancient times, few have had the three qualities of persistence, talents, as well as great opportunities to become one.

But today.

These Acraepoids here are going to witness the birth of an infernal god. He shall be made an example for the younger generations. People would sing his name in praises!

“Noble Yimo!”

“Noble Yimo!”

“Noble Yimo!”

…

The crowd was cheering in an uproar. Yimo raised his hands and clutched his palms, signaling the frenzied acraepoids to quiet down.

The soul slaves behind Grimm were a little disturbed. They seemed to have felt the pressure from the crowd.

Noble Yimo’s voice was exceptionally deep and calm, like the sound of a flowing stream, or a droplet of water that could penetrate a stone. There was no way that he could be perturbed by any external forces.

Yimo looked straight at Grimm. Though he had no eyes, Grimm felt that he has been completely seen through.

Was it the soul?

“Respected warrior from the Burrow World, the two Nobles Sungta and Bolonger had been careless. They practice the way of the Infernal Swords, yet they’ve forgotten that the way of the sword lies in humility. I am Yimo, I have practiced the Infernal Sword for a whole three thousand nine hundred and ninety eight years. Today, I wish to represent the great Acraepoids and…”

Boom!

Suddenly, the Acraepoid whose eyes were blindfolded by a piece of tattered red cloth was consumed by a dark flame pillar, launched from Grimm’s Sabbatical Goat Staff.

Everything happened so suddenly, so unbelievable.

The dark flame pillar emitted a violent, bone-chilling, and sinister aura. Not only did it wipe off the warrior of the Infernal Spirit World who was at the peak of level three, it rendered the hundreds of Acraepoids behind him, who were still in shock, into dust.

In the blink of an eye, scattered limbs and mists of blood were falling from the clear sky above.

“Heeheeheehee…”

Grimm retracted his right hand slowly. One of the dark flames that was burning in the eye socket of the Sabbatical Goat Staff went off.

Grimm spoke in a deep voice as he laughed eerily,” Think you’ve seen through me? You, too, are careless!”
