Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 771: Chapter 771: Searching Inside the Main Hall

Wind Saint Empire Capital.

Xiao Yi walked along the streets, his face concealed by a wide robe.

To an outsider, he appeared merely as an Independent Martial Artist taking precautions, not drawing any undue attention.

The Capital here was not much different from those of other Kingdoms.

It was just more prosperous, and the Martial Artists walking around were stronger.

Xiao Yi was not interested in the surrounding bustle; his steps steadily headed towards Asura Hall.

Yes, his purpose for coming to the Wind Saint Capital was to make a visit to Asura Hall.

Asura Hall, with its many branch halls, spread across the Wind Saint Territory.

Each Kingdom had a main branch hall to lead the kingdom’s respective halls, and a Sub Hall Master stationed there.

In stronger Kingdoms, such as the Thousand Wind Kingdom and Gale Kingdom, there were Main Hall Masters.

Simply put, certain powerful Kingdoms possessed a Main Hall.

And here in the Wind Saint Empire, the Main Hall was situated in the Capital.

Moreover, the First Hall Master presided here.

Indeed, the first Main Hall of the Asura Hall in Wind Saint Territory was right here.

Continuing on his path, Xiao Yi arrived at Asura Hall.

Asura Hall was, as always, an exceedingly prominent structure no matter where it was located.

Entering Asura Hall, Xiao Yi proceeded to the Task Department.

”Are you here to accept a task or to submit one?” the staff member asked, as was customary.

”Submitting a task,” replied Xiao Yi, producing his token.

The staff member took the token and frowned slightly, ”A secret token?”

The staff member’s frown lingered for merely a second before his expression returned to normal.

He would not pry into matters that did not concern him.

Moreover, even if a token was classified as secret, it was still possible to complete the task handover.

Task Points and the completion status of the task could also be recorded in the register.

However, this record would become confidential information.

”Done,” after making the records, the staff member handed back the token to Xiao Yi.

”Hold on, I wish to consult some scrolls and information,” Xiao Yi said with a grave tone.

He had completed a large number of tasks on his journey here.

Coming to the First Main Hall, first, was to submit a task.

Second, and more importantly, was to consult intelligence, which was his primary objective.

He would not linger here; once he had consulted the information, he would leave.

”Consulting intelligence?” the staff member asked with a furrowed brow, ”Although your token is a secret token,”

”its level is not high, and the permissions are quite limited.”

”You will not be able to access much intelligence.”

Xiao Yi nodded.

”Alright, follow me to the Scrolls Room,” the staff member instructed.

Led by the staff member, Xiao Yi arrived at the Scrolls Room.

Entering the Scrolls Room, he saw countless scrolls densely packed together.

Of course, each scroll was protected by a Prohibition.

”The scrolls, intelligence, and materials in here are all bound by Prohibitions,” said the staff member.

”If it falls within your authorization, you can directly use your token to open the Prohibition and retrieve the scrolls you need.”

”But remember, if you’re not authorized, do not try to break the Prohibition by force.”

”Otherwise, you will be arrested for violating the hall rules.”

”Understood,” Xiao Yi nodded.

”Mhm,” the staff member responded, adding, ”If you need anything, come find me.”

”I have other matters to attend to and must leave now.”

”Mhm,” Xiao Yi acknowledged.

After the staff member left, Xiao Yi was alone in the Scrolls Room.

He took a deep breath.

”If I cannot find any information here, I’ll have to leave the Wind Saint Territory.”

Previously, in the Fengxu Kingdom’s Asura Hall Branch Hall, he could not find any news of the Holy Moon Sect.

Therefore, Xiao Yi had been planning to check the First Main Hall.

The First Main Hall gathered all the intelligence and information from every branch hall within the Wind Saint Territory.

It could be said that as long as the intelligence existed within the Wind Saint Territory, it could generally be found here.

As for the issue of permissions, what he was searching for was not exactly a secret.

It was merely the distribution of forces within the Wind Saint Territory, the names of those forces, and other such common intelligence.

If he couldn’t find it here, then Xiao Yi would truly have no choice but to leave the Wind Saint Territory and search outside for the Demon Hunting Hall.

Xiao Yi began to browse through the scrolls, and it took him the better part of half a day before he finally stopped his search.

The intelligence and information here were innumerable.

Even with his speed, it took him half a day.

However, he still came up empty-handed.

”Could it be in the higher-permission intelligence?” Xiao Yi frowned, still holding onto a sliver of hope.

Perhaps, some forces were particularly special and counted as confidential intelligence.

Xiao Yi furrowed his brows.

Suddenly, the door to the Scrolls Room was opened.

The staff member from before walked in.

”Deacon Xiao Yi, you haven’t left yet?” the staff member said with a smile.

”Hm?” Xiao Yi’s face turned cold instantly.

”How do you know my name?”

His token was confidential information.

When he had handed in his task earlier, this staff member had received the token and obviously couldn’t see his information.

Therefore, he hadn’t called him by name before, merely addressing him as ”you.”

Moreover, he had always worn a wide robe, so outsiders couldn’t see his appearance.

”Deacon Xiao Yi, don’t be nervous,” the staff member said with a smile. ”You have been browsing scrolls here for quite half a day now.”

”But have you not found the information you were looking for, or is it that you lack the necessary permissions?”

Xiao Yi said nothing, staring at the staff member.

The staffer chuckled awkwardly and said, ”Well... Deacon Xiao Yi, don’t get me wrong.”

”I know your identity; naturally, it’s someone with high enough permissions who could ignore your confidential information.”

”Who?” Xiao Yi asked indifferently.

The staff member said with a smile, ”With the level of confidentiality on your token, there’s naturally only one person who could ignore it.”

”In the Wind Saint Territory, the First Hall Master, Duanmu Palace Master.”

As he spoke, the staff member took out a token and said, ”Duanmu Palace Master asked me to give you this token.”

”Holding this token, inside the Scrolls Room, with the exception of some materials that only Duanmu Palace Master himself can browse; the rest, nearly nine-tenths of the scroll materials or more, you can examine.”

”Oh? Duanmu Palace Master knows I’m here?” Xiao Yi dropped his cold demeanor and hostility, asking with curiosity.

The staff member chuckled lightly and said, ”What do you think, Deacon Xiao Yi?”

”This is the First Main Hall, and Duanmu Palace Master is the First Hall Master.”

”How could he possibly not know when you come here.”

”I see,” Xiao Yi nodded, accepting the token.

The staff member continued, ”Deacon Xiao Yi, you may continue to browse the scrolls here. I have other matters and will take my leave first.”

”Duanmu Palace Master has ordered that once you finish browsing the scrolls and leave, you should go and find him.”

”Alright, thank you for your trouble,” Xiao Yi bowed slightly.

”There’s no need for politeness,” the staff member said before turning and leaving.

Xiao Yi continued to browse through the scrolls.

After two full days, Xiao Yi put down the last scroll in his hand with a sigh.

Still, he had come up empty-handed.

Then, the only option remaining was to leave the Wind Saint Territory.

Just as he stepped out of the Scrolls Room, the staff member was waiting for him there.

”Hm?” Xiao Yi was slightly surprised.

The staff member forced a smile and said, ”Deacon Xiao Yi, you’ve been inside for two full days and nights; what exactly are you looking to find?”

Xiao Yi smiled faintly and replied, ”Nothing much, just taking the opportunity with sufficient permissions to look through more scroll intelligence.”

”Oh, I see,” said the staff member. ”Let’s go then, Duanmu Palace Master is looking for you.”

Xiao Yi nodded.
