Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 756: Chapter 756: Heading to the Wind Saint Empire

”Yes,” nodded the Sect Master of Thousand Wind.

”Young Master Ye Liu and I, as well as the Thousand Wind Trading House, merely share a certain acquaintance.”

”Of course, mainly because Young Master Ye Liu has helped us out a great deal before.”

”Moreover, the King once bestowed upon him the Thousand Wind First Order.”

”Thousand Wind First Order?” Xiao Yi murmured to himself.

”Mhm,” the Sect Master of Thousand Wind nodded, saying, ”However, I’m not clear on the specifics.”

”All I know is that Young Master Ye Liu and the King are quite close.”

”Since the King has given him such a token, he must be aware of Young Master Ye Liu’s identity.”

Xiao Yi nodded and said, ”What about Lin Feii, or rather, the Lin Family?”

”The Lin Family,” mused the Sect Master of Thousand Wind.

”The Lin Family is merely an ordinary power.”

”The strongest within the family is only at the Earth Extreme Peak.”

”In Thousand Wind City, they count as a top force; but in the entire Kingdom of Thousand Wind, they are not considered very strong.”

”However, the Lin Family members, relying on Lin Feii’s status, roam about bullying the major powers everywhere.”

”This time, Young Master Ye Liu slaughtered them, which, to our Kingdom of Thousand Wind, is somewhat of a good thing.”

As he spoke, the Sect Master of Thousand Wind slightly smiled.

”As for Lin Feii, she tampered with the Thousand Wind Imperial Guard and colluded with warriors from the Wind Saint Empire, and has been thrown into the dungeon, with no good end in sight.”

”Heh,” said the Sect Master of Thousand Wind with a laugh, ”Young Master Xiao Yi, you’ve come back specially to ask so much.”

”If I’m not mistaken, you wish to see if the Lin Family could pose a threat to Young Master Ye Liu, right?”

”No wonder Young Master Ye Liu considers us merely friends, yet he addresses you as ’brother,’ Young Master Xiao Yi.”

Xiao Yi’s expression remained indifferent as he nodded silently.

The Sect Master of Thousand Wind laughed and said, ”You needn’t worry about Young Master Ye Liu.”

”Even if Lin Feii hadn’t been imprisoned, even if the Lin Family were still around, they wouldn’t dare cross Young Master Ye Liu even if they were given a hundred times the courage.”

”Mhm,” Xiao Yi nodded and said, ”If that’s the case, I shall take my leave.”

With his speed, returning to the Kingdom of Thousand Wind or leaving its territory would only take a few hours.

He had indeed returned specifically to assess any potential threats.

From the conversation with the Sect Master of Thousand Wind, Xiao Yi had confirmed that Ye Liu was even more inscrutable than he had imagined.

And his origins were more mysterious than he had thought.

Since this individual needn’t be a concern of his, Xiao Yi decided not to linger in the Kingdom of Thousand Wind.

As for his true identity, Xiao Yi couldn’t be bothered to inquire.

”Take care, Young Master Xiao Yi,” said the Sect Master of Thousand Wind.

After bidding farewell, Xiao Yi left the Thousand Wind Sect.

A few hours later, he had completely left the territory of the Kingdom of Thousand Wind and sped away, flying onward.

Meanwhile, at the Thousand Wind Sect, two leaders of the Imperial Guard suddenly came calling.

The Sect Master of Thousand Wind was a bit puzzled by their arrival.

”Thousand Wind Sect Master,” they began as soon as they arrived, hurriedly asking, ”A few hours ago, did you leave the territory of the Kingdom of Thousand Wind?”

”Eh?” said the Sect Master of Thousand Wind, puzzled, ”No, why do you ask?”

”No?” The two furrowed their brows.

”What happened?” the Sect Master of Thousand Wind asked gravely.

The two wore serious expressions, ”Just about half a day ago, sudden news came from the Wind Saint Empire.”

”The Soul Jade of Zhao Kun, the Wind Saint Sixth Guardian, shattered, and the entire Wind Saint Empire is furious.”

”Soul Jade shattered?” the color drained from the Sect Master of Thousand Wind’s face as he exclaimed, ”Doesn’t that mean Zhao Kun is...”

”Correct, he’s dead,” the two said gravely, ”We thought it was you, Sect Master of Thousand Wind, who had acted. It seems now there may be someone else.”

”Could it be...” the Thousand Wind Sect Master furrowed his brows.

”What’s wrong?” the two asked gravely.

The Thousand Wind Sect Master pondered for a moment and said, ”As far as I know, after Zhao Kun was injured by me and fled the territory of the Thousand Wind Kingdom, he continued to pursue Young Master Xiao Yi.”

”Sect Master,” the Great Elder of Thousand Wind Sect exclaimed in surprise, ”I remember, just now Young Master Xiao Yi mentioned that the matter with Zhao Kun was resolved by him—it seems he was killed by him.”

”That’s impossible,” the Thousand Wind Sect Master said gravely. ”A Heavenly Extreme Realm warrior cannot be easily killed like that.”

”Even if I made a move, if Zhao Kun fought desperately to escape, I would be helpless.”

”Young Master Xiao Yi is only at the Earth Extreme Sixth Layer Cultivation; it’s impossible.”

”But, Young Master Xiao Yi was able to kill the Wind Beast Emperor which proves his strength...” the Great Elder of Thousand Wind Sect said gravely.

”No,” the Thousand Wind Sect Master shook his head and said, ”This is different.”

”The Wind Beast Emperor, after all, was injured by the Thousand Wind Formation we jointly laid out.”

”Furthermore, the Wind Beast Emperor has a deadly weakness. Once its Wind Control Ability is restricted, its strength greatly diminishes.”

”Young Master Xiao Yi must have exploited some loophole to kill this monster.”

”And Zhao Kun, who is a genuine Heavenly Extreme Realm Martial Artist, isn’t someone an Earth Extreme Realm cultivator can kill.”

The Thousand Wind Sect Master, a famous Extreme Realm Expert throughout the Wind Saint Territory.

Naturally, he could see through that Xiao Yi didn’t depend on genuine strength to kill the Wind Beast Emperor, unable to completely guess, yet he could speculate to an extent.

”An Earth Extreme Realm can’t kill a Heavenly Extreme Realm?” The Great Elder of Thousand Wind Sect smiled.

”Sect Master, have you forgotten? Wasn’t Young Master Ye Liu able to do it once?”

”Uh...” The Thousand Wind Sect Master was stunned.

The Great Elder of Thousand Wind Sect smiled and said, ”In this world, there are indeed some supreme monsters that defy common sense.”

”Young Master Ye Liu is one, and so is Young Master Xiao Yi.”

”That’s true,” the Thousand Wind Sect Master nodded.

The two leaders of the Imperial Guard said gravely, ”In that case, Zhao Kun was indeed killed by Xiao Yi.”

”Where is he now?”

”Tell him to be careful. The Wind Saint Empire is raging. This is no small matter; the death of a Heavenly Extreme Realm Martial Artist is far from trivial.”

”The Wind Saint Empire will spare no cost to kill him.”

”That’s bad,” the Thousand Wind Sect Master suddenly turned pale.

”What’s wrong?” All eyes turned to the Thousand Wind Sect Master.

The Thousand Wind Sect Master said gravely, ”After Young Master Xiao Yi left our Thousand Wind Sect, he continued on his way.”

”I observed his direction, and it was towards the Wind Saint Empire.”

”What?” Everyone’s faces also changed.

...

Tens of thousands of miles away.

A streak of light was flying rapidly.

It was Xiao Yi.

He was unaware of the conversation within the Thousand Wind Sect.

Even if he knew, he still intended to head towards the Wind Saint Empire.

Having dared to kill Zhao Kun, he was already prepared to be pursued by the Wind Saint Empire.

It’s not that he wanted to go to the Wind Saint Empire per se, but rather that he intended to keep moving forward.

To keep moving forward, which just happened to require entering the Wind Saint Empire.

Put simply, by continuing on his journey across the Wind Saint Empire, he would truly leave the Wind Saint Territory.

Based on his current direction, the Wind Saint Empire lay directly at the very edge of the Wind Saint Territory.

With his abilities and caution, safely crossing the Wind Saint Empire should not be difficult.
